Wonderful location with a lot of history. Lake Tahoe, Truckee, and Reno are all very close for day trips. The valley itself is absolutely beautiful. We are looking forward to a return visit in the future.

One Village Place is the perfect destination for your next luxury vacation in Lake Tahoe. When you aren't enjoying the sun and snow, you can take part in the shopping, dining, and activities that make Northstar Village world-famous-right outside our doors. Guests have access to the Village Swim Fitness Center, dry sauna, and an indoor/outdoor spa overlooking the village. For the ultimate in snow-filled luxury, you'll enjoy private, front-of-line access to Big Springs Express gondola, and the resort entrance is just a few steps away from the Village Express chairlift (both seasonal, ticket required). During summer, the mountain is home to the most extensive lift-served mountain bike terrains in the Western U.S. and travelers can relish in activities like roller skating, bungee trampoline, Apex mini-ropes challenge, gem panning, miniature golf, wine talks and so much more.
We booked 2 rooms for 4 adults for 2 nights for a family wedding in the area. First of all it cost $700.00 for those 2 days then the room (fairly clean) but we could not even open the “electric” drapes because the mechanism was broken with exposed wires! Then we wanted ice - no machines or even a ice tray. We call the “desk” and they said there was no ice but tomorrow if and when the store opened we might be able to get some there. The store did not open until 11. There was a restaurant on the grounds but it only opened from 11-3 and only for a couple of choices of extremely expensive sandwiches that only contained 1/2 the ingredients as described. We travel extensively but have never stayed in a place that used to have a great reputation. Since the Welk family sold this it has totally gone to the dogs - I don’t think even dogs would want to stay there now. We are embarrassed because we suggested this place to our family. Never, NEVER would I recommend this place to anyone! Guess we should have complained when there but there was NOT A soul around. Please save yourself the headache and stay at a local casino/hotel as I now wish we had.

Pleasant enough for two nights. Room very clean. Roku tv confusing after figuring out how to hook up phone to stream shows could not get live tv to return. Reported it to the front desk on check out. Upstairs occupants noisy at midnight and beyond no phone in the room to ask someone for quiet . Parking lot full of frozen ice don’t they make snow blowers to clear snow before it turns to a mound of ice??? Plus is the location you can walk to a great restaurant Jake’s behind the motel and shopping is very close. Motel next to Safeway and Subway and a coffee house.

We got there when they opened and got a great table with an amazing view! My wife had the short ribs and of course I had the elk. It melted in my mouth! Perfectly cooked! It was a wonderful romantic evening with great service. We couldn’t recommend them enough!

We booked Poole's Guest House for our wedding & honeymoon. Ann married us in February 2007 outside with it snowing like crazy. Was fantastic because we live in Oregon & we don't get a lot of snow. We were married Saturday evening & by Monday we had 4ft of snow. Ann & Herman were amazing hosts, location was wonderful for sight seeing & close to Squaw Valley Resort. Very clean. Have been wanting to go back but haven't made it yet. I had to put we traveled their in 2016 but it didn't give me any other option.

Newly remodeled eight-room historic hotel property in downtown Truckee, CA, close to dining, shopping, and the Truckee River.
Super cute newly renovated building , very inviting front desk staff. Run by a very nice family. The room was very clean and I liked the modern feel of it even though it’s a historical building. Great breakfast right across the street and discounts for staying there. Location is right downtown on Truckee river

Trailside is an exciting new resort community perfectly positioned mid-mountain on the slopes of Northstar™ Ski Resort. These townhomes feature stunning views of Martis Valley and the Carson Range. Each Trailside townhome features approximately 3,500 sq. ft. of spacious living with a 4 bedroom/4.5 bathroom floor plan, private hot tub and fire pit. The Village at Northstar is a short gondola ride or drive from your residence.
Visited the Village for the 10th time at least. Very forgiving given the pandemic. We’ve rented from these folks a half dozen times at least. Definitely not impressed. Three night rental yields one roll of toilet paper. Dakota at the pool leaves threatening, rather than inviting messages regarding reservations, which is the only way to visit the pool. Pool rules indicated six maximum per reservation, friends and families of a dozen or more arrive, let others in through exit doors etc. These folks are excellent at collecting payment, dishing out rules and instructions. Not much else. We’ll spend our cash at Squaw or the Resort at Squaw Creek.

We love staying in Sunnyside. We stayed at this property years ago and were lucky to get a room, kind of last minute, for our California trip. Kelly, the new owner, is delightful and is doing a great job holding onto it's great reputation. Each room, or cabin, is unique and sweet. They provide coffee and half and half so you can make your own each morning. The boxed breakfasts are awesome! A hot choice as well as yogurt and granola and fruit as well as a fresh pastry, plenty of food! Walking distance to our favorite Firesign cafe as well as the Sunnyside restaurant and resort where we can rent kayaks. The refurnished market next store is so great and you can get food and groceries there as well.
