Had 2 nights stay here and we were here to explore the Al Hajar mountains range and the nearby villages. To reach here one must be driving a 4WD vehicle and carry identification or will be stopped at the police check post at the base. This is a budget hotel but it doesn't compromise in cleanliness & other services they provide. Rooms are neat and reasonably spacious. The bathroom is clean and well equipped with all the basic needs. The staffs are friendly and helpful, they even have an Indian chef for those who enjoy Indian cuisine. There is even an open place for BBQ where we can cook for ourselves. The hotel is having a beautiful pool which resembles a shape of a guitar and is well maintained.

We really enjoyed our stay at Majan Guesthouse! Really good value for money accomodation, not far from the centre of Nizwa. The rooms are very spacious, with great bathrooms and airconditioning. Staff were very pleasant and helpful, and we found the hotel very easily! The only negative was the breakfast, which we felt was quite poor quality, but other than that it was a great hotel. Note: there is no lift, so this could be an issue for elderly guests.

Good customer service. The receptionist even ordered a takeaway for us. We had a great room - a two bedroom apartment with a big living room. A fully functional kitchen too with dishes etc. I could have stayed a lot longer than one night. Such lovely staff and great location for our homeward journey to Abu Dhabi.

The Cliff Guest House is located in a remote little Omani village in the middle of the Jebel Akhdar Mountain. The bedrooms are hanging over a cliff and will provide you with all the natural peace and tranquility there is. At the moment this guest house has 6 bed rooms and has been built by a group of enthusiastic Oman lovers to help the villagers establish some income for future generation
We stayed here for 2 nights and it was hands down the most unforgettable and special place we have ever stayed. Everyone who works there is lovely. The rooms and bathrooms are done to an extremely high standard and the food is delicious. Whilst it is cold at night, they make sure you have enough blankets and it is SO worth it for the star-gazing and experience. We also did a great walk and had time to relax with the breath-taking views. Can't recommend this place enough.

The room is of adequate size with a big bed. Room amenities are available. The bathroom is big however it needs to be cleaned properly. The TV inside the room is small and far from the bed. The mini fridge is not getting cold even if it is on. It was also a bit noisy as the hotel is located along the highway so we could hear the cars outside. The location of the hotel is good and has easy access to the mall (a few minutes drive) and to other tourist attractions. Friendly staff and service was fast. The breakfast menu is the same everyday. It would be nice to have other varieties of food. The omelette and sausage were a bit oily. This hotel needs a bit of an upgrade to attract more visitors/guests.

My room was advertised as having “private external bathroom.” It turns out that not only other people were using “my” bathroom, but it was tiny (barely able to move in it) and dirty (pee scum was left on the toilet bowl from the minute I arrived to the moment of checkout 2 days later, attracting many mosquitos). My ground floor double bed room was not only cramped, but extremely noisy as I can clearly hear the sound and conversation of everyone passing by the lobby as well as in the street. The staff went AWOL the 2 days I stayed, as nothing was cleaned and the drinking water tank empty since my arrival was never refilled. After 2 days of suffering, I moved down the street to Antique Inn and it is a lot better. At this hotel, neglect trumps its central location in the historical heart of Nizwa.
