We had a wonderful stay at this lovely Heritage Inn. It is a beautiful clean home by the harbour, and our hosts George and Lynn were welcoming and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed George’s stories and answering our questions about the interesting history of the house and area. Our breakfast prepared by Lynn of French toast with blueberry maple syrup, homemade muffins and her granola was delicious! This charming Inn with lovely hosts is situated in an interesting historical area and is in a great location.

AMAZING STAY!

Reviewed By TRBelbin

The Carriage House Inn bed and breakfast is the coziest, friendliest B&B I have ever stayed in. I came her with my dog Brew for a week and it was perfect. Our room was clean and the bed was so comfortable. They are flexible on their morning breakfast times and the food was delicious. The staff and friendly and will go out of their way to help make your stay an enjoyable one. They also have a library and comfy general sitting areas! For anyone who likes to stroll along trails in the woods, this place is also perfect. I took my dog out every day, multiple times and we always found somewhere new to explore. I would recommend this place to anyone. I loved it much I extended my stay and didn't want to leave!

Exactly what you'd want in Nfld. Huge covered deck overlooking the water with the occasional whale spouting past. There is a shorefront trail you access just down the highway towards the town (look for the grassy ATV trail) that goes all way to the main harbour and has historical information.

Accommodation and Restaurant

Reviewed By Janice M

The entrance was very inviting and there was no problem parking. Our room was clean and well equipped, bathroom small but good water pressure and hot water in shower. We had dinner at the attached restaurant that also caters to large groups. I had fish cakes, served piping hot, and salad and they were both delicious. Staff was friendly despite being very busy. Everything here was just fine and I would stay and eat here again.

We stayed at Leaside for a week while our house was being renovated. We chose Leaside because of its local reputation. We were in a restored heritage property which combined the charm of history with modern amenities. The suite was spacious, clean, and well decorated and could easily accommodate 2 couples. Close to the Harbour but also next to the Waterford River walking/biking trail in downtown St. John's, we found parts of the City we didn't realize existed. The staff were great and really friendly

Cosy home in a ideal central Gros Morne location hosted by a truly lovely couple. My room and ned provided a terrific respite after a long day on the trails. The home was full yet very quiet throughout the evening and overnight. That's not always the case with some bnbs as we all know. The breakfast was fantastic and provided ample fuel for the first hike of the day.

Worst service I have ever received

Reviewed By K3886DHtiffanyw

Me and my family (6 all together including a baby) decided to head to the Port Rexton and Trinity area for the day to do some exploring! We stopped into this establishment for our supper. The server who met us at the door was very accommodating and put two tables together for us to be seated together. We get seated and and the server was at our table within a couple of minutes to take our order, we still needed more time and asked to come in a few minutes. she was back again like two minutes later. We still weren't ready but she made us feel rushed so we ordered anyway without having the proper time to look over the menu. She returned later on with out drinks. Me and my siblings had tea and we couldn't even mix it because we still never had our cutlery. Then came our food. My sister's burger was burnt, we found plastic in my other sisters tarter sauce. During the time we were eating not one server checked in to see if our food was ok or if we needed anything else. The whole time we felt very uncomfortable and like we were an inconvenience. The manager came down to serve another table and as she was walking away didn't even acknowledge that we were there. I had to ask for our bill and where we had to go and pay. When the serve came out with out bills (which we had to go looking for) we very politely expressed our thoughts about how poorly we were treated and the server got very upset with us and got the manager. We tried to explain the situation to her while the server was yelling at us and constantly cutting us off while we were in the middle of a saying something. The manager then decided to take it out back so that we weren't in the main entry way, understandable. The manager physically put her hand on my back and pushed me in the direction, which I didn't appreciate at all and said to her that she didn't have to push me. This whole time the server was still cutting us off while we were talking and pointing a pen in my sister's face. The manager then ripped the bill from my hand told us that we didn't have to pay for our meal. She said "there your meal is free, that's what you wanted anyway" which isn't true. Me and my family pay for our meals everywhere we go and leave a tip as well. We were extremely disappointed that our fun day was ruined because a server didn't know how to treat her customers properly. I work in the restaurant industry and know first hand how busy tourist season can be. Never have I seen such a rude and obnoxious server!! Learn how to treat your customers better and don't just assume that they're looking for a free meal because they have a complaint!!!!!
