Commerce keeps Nagoya’s downtown popping with life, but there’s more than just manufacturing to this industrial powerhouse. Nagoyans meet for plates of crisp-friend miso katsu; make weekend trips to nearby Shinto shrines; and count down the days to the city’s autumn Nagoya Festival.

I was given the impression that the hotel was near to Nagoya Station. It was more than 10-minute walk from the station. Instead, it was a few minutes walk from Kokusai Center subway station, so it is better to take the Sakura-dori line subway from Nagoya station to Kokusai Center subway station on a rainy day or for those who have bulky luggage bags. Check-in was smooth. Hotel staff were polite and efficient. Room was clean and the size was ok, it could accommodate our 2 big luggage bags and still had ample space for walking. The simmons beds were comfortable. Buffet breakfast was yummy and the spread was good. I do not mind staying in this hotel again because of its price and nice breakfast. However, I feel that the room that I stayed in was not elderly friendly because the bathtub was very high, not easy for elderly to climb in. Not sure if they have rooms with more elderly friendly bathtubs.

I’ve got a special rate for two nights. Titbits far from public transport but the hotel is new and modern and it for everything one needs. Rooms are tiny as same as any other business hotels in Japan but good enough for just sleeping. It was also handy to have a cafe on the ground floor to have light breakfast.

I wanted to stay in a traditional hostel during my first trip to Japan. Meiryu is a nice place to stay, very close to the Kamimaezu subway station. The room was very comfortable and the staff is very friendly (although only one of them peaks English). Bathrooms are nice and clean, and the experience of communal showers was quite special for me (although I was alone most of the times). The man at the reception is very friendly and helpful. He gave me a lot of nice recommendations on places to visit, and even gave me some advice about culture and language.

Hotel
We were surprised at how spacious our room was, complete with built-in wardrobe and private toilet. The room was clean and well equipped. The hotel has free WiFi but you have to ask the reception desk for a router. The public bath operates only at certain hours so one will have to adapt one's bathing time to the opening hours. The reception desk is unmanned outside opening hours, so guest arriving after 23:00 will have to make special arrangement for late check-in. That also means one can't leave luggages at the hotel after check-out if one wants to pick-up within closing hours.

It was my first time staying at Ryokan and was not make me down but provided me the great impression of their hospitality. The room was quite wide, clean and neat decoration. The staffs were so helpful even they couldn't speak much English. Breakfast was so good and tasty and made me felt that they served it with heart not just to do it because it was included in the room. When I had to leave, all staffs came to stand in line and bend to say thanks to us. That's awesome experience. I would recommend you to stay here.

Finding an ideal bed and breakfast in Nakamura does not have to be difficult. Welcome to Toyoko Inn Nagoya Meieki Minami, a nice option for travelers like you. Guest rooms offer a flat screen TV, a refrigerator, and air conditioning, and Toyoko Inn Nagoya Meieki Minami makes getting online easy as free wifi is available. Otherwise, you may want to check out a sushi restaurant such as Sengoku Sushi Main Shop, Tsukiji Sushisei Nagoya, or Umegaoka Sushinomidori, Nagoya. Best of all, Toyoko Inn Nagoya Meieki Minami makes it easy to experience some great Nakamura attractions like Daiichi Art Museum, which is a popular art museum. Toyoko Inn Nagoya Meieki Minami looks forward to welcoming you on your visit to Nakamura.
This is a "newer generation" type Toyoko Inn, with duvets instead of blankets and sheets (a great improvement), slightly more spacious bathrooms, in-ceiling showers in addition to the usual handheld hose, and self-service check-in counters. I heard they are planning to convert the entire chain to this type, which will be an excellent development when and if it happens. The in-room TV faces the bed at a 45° angle instead of the usual 90°, which may still not be perfect, but better. Location is right next to a very tactfully-named "Community love plaza" that I cannot review but which did not appear to cause any neighbourly issues. There is a branch of Edion a couple of minutes' walk away, which is handy if you need to buy technology. The only flaw I could see is breakfast, which in itself was excellent but always incredibly crowded and hectic, almost chaotic, and not because the organisation was inadequate in any way, but because of the sheer number of people all packed in what in Western culture would be insufficient space. Even so, the very comfortable duvet-equipped bed and upgraded bathroom and the fact that the price is actually lower than that of traditional Toyoko Inn branches more than made up for it.
