Casa Loma is a beautiful wooden hilltop house that offers one of the most amazing views from any hostel in Colombia, particularly at sunset!Situated above the town, you’ll overlook Minca, Santa Marta, the sea, plus the mountains of the Sierra Nevada and forest all at the same time—truly unique!Surrounded by tropical gardens and indigenous stones and paths, we offer complete tranquillity with no roads, cars, shops or neighbours; coupled with great food including our famous curry nights!
Casa loma is in a really beautiful setting and I really enjoyed my time here! The staff were super lovely and it really feels peaceful while still being fairly near to town. Pros - the views from the bar area and the upper platform -having a bit of separation from town, while not being as cut off as fincas etc in the area - staff were really friendly and helpful - i enjoyed my single hut and found it private and comfy Cons - the choices on the menu looked amazing, but I was generally disappointed by the actual taste; I found the falafel to be super dry in particular -bathroom situation: there were only 2 near the solo huts, which were often taken, and it was a hike to get to the other ones. Also a couple bathrooms near the bar area would be super welcome, when people I was hanging out with had to have a bathroom break it took so much time to get up there and back -the hike up is pretty challenging mid day with a backpack, not something they can really change but if you’re not pretty fit this could definitely be an issue

Tayrona Paradise was a lovely stay for us. Staff were friendly and the room was awesome. Having multiple beds in the room allowed multiple sleeping choices(?). However the food sadly not meet our standards, which is a shame since everything other than that was top notch.

So stayed here for 2 nights whilst in Santa Marta. On entering it had a friendly receptionist and a nice foyer, the room wasn't so good though. Hinges on the door had dropped so it scraped the ground loudly, the light was just a light bulb in the wall. No hot water, toilet seat was broken, toilet door scrapped again. Only one double plug socket in the room, no bedside lamp. Really disappointed, breakfast was no better, cold coffee and eggs, ate breakfast out the next morning... There is a pool only 3 people at a time though and the reception staff are lovely and friendly, but honestly better value elsewhere. I've given it 2 stars only because of the reception staff

A wonderful boutique place, with only 10 rooms and an amazing attention to detail. Every little thing (decor, service, food, menagerie, etc) is done with love & intelligence. A rare & enjoyable combination Fabulous. Book room 5 or 10 and you won't even have any (too thin ...) parting walls to worry about

We stayed three nights in just after Christmas...tried to extend our stay, but - no surprise- this charming location was fully booked. We enjoyed our bungalow on top of this awesome „Ressort“. Super nice balcony with two hammocks, chilling, listening to the birds, embedded in plants, trees, nature...fantastic! Lot of comments are on the traffic, which was in our case and potentially due to location of our bungalow not an issue at all. There’s is also nice restaurant and chill-out area close to the pool...what needs to be emphasized is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Thomas (in our case) gave us great tips and recommendations (already upfront the trip). When I (unfortunately) needed serious medical treatment, he without hesitation helped us in arranging and accompanied us to the hospital in Santa Marta at night! As mentioned, we enjoyed our stay and asked for extension.. great place!

Didn't really have any trouble finding the place, other than the entrance. We were really impressed with how nice the lobby was and the overall quality of the hotel. Looked either new, or at the very least semi-recently renovated. Each room has it's own little name, though I'm not sure there's any special design to differentiate them from each other. The room was very nice, but also very small. To be there for a couple days is fine, but if you had like 1 week's worth of clothing and 2 people, you'd be a little hard pressed to keep the place from being a total mess. The AC worked really well, but unfortunately the in room mini-fridge didn't work and the iPod dock/radio thing didn't even have a plug in, it seemed to just be there for show. Those two things didn't bother me, but at least in my room, 201, which I believe was right above the lobby, the wifi didn't work. Connected sometimes, but wasn't really usable if it did, then the connection would drop. All that being said, again the property was really nice and didn't cost an arm and a leg. There was also a restaurant on the 6th floor, which I'm not sure really makes sense. I feel like they could've had 2-3 more rooms instead of an unproductive restaurant. But I didn't try the food, maybe it's great! Just seemed unnecessary. 5th floor features a nice little sundeck and covered open air area with tables and a bit of a bar. This area was a very good idea. A pool might have been preferable but the hotel is on a really small footprint. The rooftop deck has 2 cold water jacuzzi's, first time I've ever seen that, but in the climate of Santa Marta, probably a good idea. Hotel is only about 5 minutes walking from the beach and even at night we weren't at all worried about security walking back to the hotel. I'm not sure I'll be back in Santa Marta any time soon but I wouldn't hesitate to stay at Perla Suite again.

This hotel is located by one of the best beaches in the way to the The Tairona Natilnal Park. We sleeped in one of the small houses, al you can rent a space for camping. The restaurant offers quite good food, I love their brekfast.

My husband, teen boys and I did the coffee/cocoa tour. This was a great and informative experience. Be aware there’s quite a bit of climbing involved but they give you walking sticks. The tour walked us through the different steps of the sowing, harvest and packaging process. We were able to sample coffee and cocoa and did a coffee mask at the end of the tour, all included in the price.

We are a family born in between a story of the urban and the Kogui culture of La Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, with children born in those mountains and with more than 40 years of living experiences there. Samila and Mario founded the hotel project Playa la Roca, with the intention of sharing with its guests this particular family story and natural way of life, also offering pleasant and comfortable spaces built with forms and organic elements, surrounding the visitor with an atmosphere as natural as possible. Similarly, for our cuisine we use fresh food yielded by the sea and land, resulting in a product not only tasty but also healthy. All these characteristics create sensations that resonate with our intimate spaces and the sensitivity of the human being, providing a state of peace and well-being. RNT 27742
Great landscape— very POOR service. Meals take forever, and they don’t pay any attention to detail in the room service - no shampoo, not clean, no eco friendly soap, the forget even to put towels. Staff are friendly, but extremely inefficient and do not correct very simple service mistakes. For a hotel $300 dollars a night, expectations were not met.
