Touching Belgium on its west and just a few miles from Germany to the east, Maastricht is the capital of Holland’s southernmost region, Limburg. A town rich in history and culture, Maastricht boasts two wonderful town squares: Vrijthof, with Sint-Servaas Church, Sint-Jan's Cathedral and many bars, cafes and restaurants; and Markt, home to the town hall and, on Wednesday and Friday mornings, a fantastic vendor market. The city’s Vestigingswerken, or old town fortifications, are another big draw.

Let me start with the good stuff: the bed is OK, the hotel is near the station and sort of near the center of Maastricht. That is it. The room is incredibly expensive. When I booked, I saw (but cant prove) a rate of about 110 euro, otherwise I wouldn't have booked it in the first place. We were charged 170 euro for one night, incl turist tax. Having checked the confirmation, it did say that rate. So, I didn't check the conformation very well, to say the least. My mistake. SO, DO CHECK YOUR CONFIRMATION WHEN YOU BOOK at Alex ON THE RATE YOU PAY. For this kind of money, one expects a room in which one can move around at least, as well as a smart TV and, most important: peace and quit, so one can rest and sleep when you want during the period you pay or the room. Unfortunately, this was not true at all. Our room was right above the café within the hotel. There was no apparent sound isolation in the floor, so there was quite a lot of noise from the café in our room. We certainly couldn't rest, let alone sleep. According to the owner, it is perfectly acceptable if the noise from the café below is loud up til 22:00.... HUH!?? Also, when the owner was in our room, listening to the sound from the pub below, he wondered what the problem was. "AH", he said at one point: "you assumed the room would be quit". WHAT!?? Asked why he rented a room with such an obvious problem, whilst refusing to kill the sound in the café after experiencing that two times turning the sound down didn't help anything at all, he told us: "I have this building with this room, so I rent it to make money". Really? He obviously doesn't care. The TV is not from this day and age. The screen is not very good. It is not smart either. So, no streaming Netflix or anything. Than, the shower :) It was more than full with my body, I could hardly move without bumping into anything. Not a nice shower therefore. Although I am tall and I do have some overweight, it is not that bad (appr 110 kilo by 196cm length). In short: don't stay here. In our experience, at the end of the day, the owner doesn't care. He is in for the money. The people who work there do though. It was them who were friendly enough to turn the music a bit down when asked twice. Unfortunately, it didn't help much.

Maison Haas Hustinx is housed in two monumental buildings constructed in 1920, overlooking the Vrijthof square. The 17 rooms were built & restored with great respect to the historical site, and furnished with modern amenities. In 2020, a new, seamlessly designed structure was erected behind the historical houses offering a glass conservatory breakfast area as well as a sustainable spa sanctuary. Housed in the hotel’s modern annex is the spa of Maison Haas Hustinx. A quiet sanctuary hiding on the Vrijthof. It includes a pool, sauna, hammam, and booth for meditation, confession, or prayer; a place to practice one’s own ways to spiritual wellness. Enjoy a therapeutic experience in the new treatment room. Explore our aromatherapy body treatments and skin rejuvenating facials. The new Levantine eatery SAFAR completes the final stage of Maison Haas Hustinx. Paying tribute to the journeys of Alphons Hustinx, Safar comes from the Arabic word travel. The curated menu offers levantine classic dishes, inspired by honest cooking and simplicity, to expose the true nature of ingredients.
As it looked well located. We hoped to stay in this hotel in January but had to cancel our booking due to the Covid 19 situation in the Netherlands at the time. However, we could not receive refund even in the uncertain times. Eventually, with a struggle received a voucher. Not very helpful.

Maastricht is fun. Good bars and restaurants. Our hotel was a nice pick from a huge selection. They offer a nice breakfast and lunch. At night the bar changes in a cocktail bar. Great staff. Be careful with choosing your room. Don't take the rooms (f.i. nr 2) with a street view. Maastricht at night can be a bit noisy.

Kasteel de Hoogenweerth is located on the banks of the river Maas on a private domain, just outside of Maastricht city centre but very close to the MECC (Maastricht Congress Centre). In total we offer 10 rooms, 1, our Royal Castle Suite is over 250m2 large and takes up the entire first floor of the Castle. The other 9 rooms are situated in the former coach house of the Castle. The old stables are converted into a restaurant, Restaurant SOFA (awarded with a BIB Gourmand by the Michelin Guide in 2011).
A really lovely place - we had a very luxurious studio and really enjoyed staying there. Great attention to details ~ it had everything we wanted for a very comfortable stay. Exceptionally comfy bed. The grounds are divine right on the river and the location perfect. We got a taxi in to Maastricht for 15 euros and walked back along the river - very nice location but don’t walk unless you enjoy walking. It’s 45 mins. You can hire bikes too. We had a lovely champagne breakfast delivered to the room and it was so huge we made lunch from it too. Would most happily return for longer next time ~ it was perfect. Oh great parking and staff too! Thanks for a lovely stay. The free minibar was a nice touch.

It’s not a hotel but a restaurant / bar with rooms upstairs. Due to this fact, don’t expect hotel service. The place couldn’t be more downtown and the parking (q-park) is just around the corner (easy to walk). The suite is big (enough) But the little details as fresh bottle of wat every day or clean cups for coffee are not taken care of. When you sleep two nights, it is not cleaned between night 1 and 2. Not sure if we would stay here again, price- service ratio is out of context. Ps. Don’t do breakfast here. Go outside for a real breakfast experience. They are a restaurant, not a breakfast place.

Beautiful property. The hotel is centrally located. Everything was walking distance. The hotel was clean and I loved my room. The only issue is that the hotel no longer serves breakfast and so there's no place where one can just sit and get a coffee - although the sister concern Hotel Grote Gracht does accommodate all guests of this hotel as well. The linen can be changed everyday on request, no dental toiletries are provided. Handwash, body wash, and shampoo are provided and nothing else.

This was sort of a last minute booking for us as our plans to go to the UK were put on hold due to the corona situation. We arrived just before 3, however the rooms were not quite ready, so we had a drink while we waited. We checked in quickly afterwards and went upstairs. The room was a little shabby, but clean. The TV didn't work on the first night, but it was quickly resolved by the staff downstairs. Breakfast is worth the extra fee. Scrambled egg, bacon, bread, cheese, ham, crossaint, yoghurt, juice, tea and coffee. The hotel itself is about a 10 minute walk into town. Closest car park is the P+R at Maastricht Station. Highly recommended for a city break!

I stayed one week. In the first day they charged me 7% more (and no invoice was provided). It took them 3 days (and two hours of calculations) to accept they made this mistake, and when they returned the money they act like it was my mistake. I asked what is the room price. They comunicated 67E, but there are quests that pay 30E per night (30 days+), but still having double/ triple without internet and invoice mistakes, it is too much. Prices for 2022 April. Hotel is nice and peacefull, but they forget to tell you the internet does not work in the extremities of the hotel and it does not support WhatsApp or Teams. Interestingly: They say it is a basic internet, do not expect to have work meetings with it!!! They say nobody complained about the internet quality. But then everybody from rooms 40-60 for every floor are coming in the middle. I stayed in 250. After long discussions they offered me 244/246. I tested the internet, still bad. In the end I moved in 230. 3 hours of checking and moving made me feel like I am their employee. Of course, unpaid. I asked for the extension plug since next to the desk there was no plug. They said, why don't I buy myself. In the end I asked the manager (who made me wait for him 20 mins) for the extension plug. Yes he could provide. The funny part comes now: He was very serious to offer me two rooms for the price of one. I am one guy, but they offered 4 beds. One to sleep in and other to work in ;) He cannot charge half, but deliver double. Funny, but when you are tired and must work you do not need unhelpfull jokes. It was a good thing that you can pay with your card. (Most outlets in Netherlands allow only Maestro) Imagine how would have been to ask you to pay only cash.
