Apokryfo is a unique hideaway situated in the foothills of Mount Olympus in the wine growing district of Cyprus. This cluster of old stone houses has been painstakingly renovated by a local architect and his interior designer wife. Just 25 mins from Limassol, Apokryfo provides farmhouse style cuisine, spa, salt water pool, seminar room, luxury guest rooms, one room studios and three bedroom houses, all equipped with king size beds, c/h, a/c, TV/DVD/WiFi and some even with fireplaces.
We visited for lunch today on the recommendation of family. A bit of a trek for us but well worth it. Beautiful position, exceptionally well appointed venue. Very tasty meze and local wine and courteous staff. A must return and longer stay in the exceptionally well appointed accommodation.

Housed in a newly refurbished unique cluster of traditional stone buildings from the late 1800's, the Ambelikos AgroHotel & Tavern has preserved the distinctive Cypriot character, whilst including all modern conveniences. It is a superb example of Cypriot cultural heritage, reviving the 150 year history of an old local family, pioneers in the production of smoked pork products. Grigoriou is now today's leading brand. Combining spectacular natural beauty with activities and amenities sure to make any visit memorable, agro hotels offer visitors unique opportunities to experience unspoilt natural environments whilst still enjoying the comforts and amenities of a traditional hotel - a true home-from-home! This unique ecohotel, Ambelikos, offers wonderful relaxing holidays to all those who are searching for a small village and rural accommodation in the heart of agrotourism on the island of Cyprus
There will be a difference experience when you visit this hotel in summertime. We stayed in Ambelikos the last week of November when it was to cold to sit outside. The swimming pool was already closed.... Rooms are large but very basic. The bed was a bit small for two persons. However this can also be cosie ;-) The bathroom was rather small and could have a "facelift". E.g. the light was constantly flickering, the fan was noisy, decoration a bit outdated. The room was very cold when we arrived and although they put on the central heating system it was never really convenient. Nevertheless, the place is very clean and the location is very quiet. Breakfast is very moderate, especially related to the room price. E.g. no fresh orange juice, yoghurt, only filter coffee, no choice for you eggs, only toasted bread..... We have had many hotels on Cyprus and I find the breakfast offer is really too low related to the price you pay. Moreover, in a agrohotel you expect more fresh (homemade) ingredients. This also counts for the dinner served, My recommendation would be to choose for the trout.... The moussaka (homemade) did not meet my expectations of the true Greek moussaka.... The service from the one employee was very friendly. The village itself has nothing special to offer. But -as I mentioned in the beginning of this review- in summertime there may be a different experience....

I came here with my other half for one night! The room is really elegant, clean and beautiful. My other half says it is one of the best bathroom set ups he has ever seen, he loved the big oval mirror in front of the bed with the lights around and the double sink etc. It is designed very nice. The staff was friendly and check in was super efficient We loved the breakfast, lots of options and very big portions with a coffee and fresh orange juice. My only small comment is that the courtyard is beautiful but due to it being really cold we sat inside. This inside area could definitely be rearranged a little as you could tell the hotel wasn’t busy at this time as things were covered and they use it sort of like a storage, it was quite dusty.

I was here during 4 weeks in April 2021. The hotel offers very comfortable and spacious rooms with small kitchen and mini freezer. Staff was amazing and very helpful. All you need to stay in comfort. I highly recommend this hotel. Staff is amazing.

The stay was fine. Room a good size an clean, en suite with a TV and mini fridge. There is a restaurant but I didn’t use it. Staff seem friendly. Payment on departure. It’s a little rough around the edges and a little dated but perfectly fine for a few nights. Location is ok, a 24 hr shop a few doors down and a 10 min walk to leontiou bus station. A little further (20 mins or so) from the waterfront

Located in one of the most picturesque alleys of Agios Athanasios ,Nikis House was created with the intention of offering our guests a unique experience of traditional hospitality in our home town. Nikis House is a family-run , Traditional Boutique Hotel which offers unparalleled, country-style accommodation. It is located in the centre of Agios Athanasios village and very close to the Limassol centre. Niki’s House was built back in the 1890 and has been completely restored under the auspices of UNESCO in 2005. Its traditional style and unique ambience is making Nikis House an ideal destination for those seeking peace and tranquillity but on the same time is a perfect choice for those who want to stay close and enjoy the vibrant, cosmopolitan city centre of Limassol and the surrounding sandy beaches. Nikis House is a complex of two traditional stone-built houses, consisted of seven deluxe studio apartments and a 1 bed flat that surround a private garden.
We stayed in Nikkis house in March and we had a lovely welcome from the host Evegenia who came to meet us as we had taken a wrong turning. Our studio apartment was spacious and warm and well equipped and tge courtyard garden was delightful. The host and her husband and the staff were friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble and they were readily available If required even though they don't live on site. Evevgia goes above and beyond she gave us home made cake and coffee if we were in our apartment while they were caring for the garden and apartment she even did some laundry fir us. The apartment is within a traditional house and there is a supermarket and another small shop within 3 minutes walk. We ate at pinkie in the municipal Square about 10 minutes walk away and the food was very good as was the service. I have no hesitation in recommending Nikkis house as a base for visiting Cyprus the main coast motorway is only minutes drive away and makes visiting the rest of the Island easily accessible.

You really are treated like part of the family here. A warm welcome from Stella and Costas and the rest of the family are so helpful and friendly. The food at breakfast and dinner was very good - you can see the food being barbecued as you eat, and the local wine and pomegranate grappa - all made by Costas - is very good, as are the fresh avocados from his farm. We had room 6. Although a little dark, it was spacious and had everything you need. On our last night it was cold and Costas moved everyone into a smaller dining room with a fire. As always, he entertained us with his bazzouki and a glass of grappa. It really felt like being part of the family.

Beautiful hotel, fabulously comfortable bed, great shower, stylish and unusual frosted glass bathroom pods, and a great location not far from the restaurants of the Old Town. But a big downside was the noisy building site right opposite our room. This has clearly caused problems, as our window was blanked off with acoustic insulation, so the only way we could look outside or get any daylight was to open the window. Obviously this is not going to be a problem forever, and the hotel can't do anything about the building site, but it felt very claustrophobic and did spoil our stay.

Well no water in pipes so toilet won’t flush. Had hot water so had to put shower head in toilet tank to fill it up. Rather grumpy old man to check you in. Good location. Ants in the room. Hardest beds in the universe. I don’t think I would stay here again. Breakfast café is excellent
