I have been staying at this resort for some years now and I always seem to come back here even though I have tried other resorts in this area. The service is OK, staff are friendly and accommodating. My only negative point is that it is hard to get restaurant/bar staff's attention. They are too busy with other things sitting with their back away from you. Sometimes you have to call them 3 times to get your spoon/fork or pepper/salt or service water. But still, over all a pleasant stay here. Quiet and peaceful most of the time.

The main consideration in this review is the cost of the room This is where everything revolves around in. Prior to leaving for La Union, I tried to get in touch with them through Facebook, IG, and text. I got initial responses of greetings only and they never replied after. My friend had to call them to continue with the transaction. It was not a good start to a vacation. We managed to book the standard room for 2 for 1880 pesos for an overnight stay. As mentioned, this is where most of the considerations in the review revolves around in. Location The hotel is along the road. You cannot miss it because its almost beside other famous business in San Juan. It is very accessible to the bars, 5 minute walk to the beach behind, restaurants are all within walking distance as well. However, parking is limited. They only have a small space infront which can accomodate 3 vehicles. All others have to park along the road. The building has their own EL Navi restaurant in the first floor. For a first timer, you would not know where to go. We arrived at 3pm and the restaurant was closed from 2 to 5pm for breaktime. There was a small space beside the resto entrance which leads to the stairs going up. There was no sign so we had to contact the poc we dealt with. He came down and greeted us. The reception was in the 2nd floor lobby. We were showed to our room, it was a lot smaller than what we expected. Upon researching online, the standard room appeared to be different and had a bigger space. We were also not given our key not until after 5pm because the person who is in charge of checking in, who was working in the restaurant was on break. Activities Since the hotel is situated in the best location, everything is within reach. They actually have a list of places you can tour outside the restaurant which you can ask the staff to help you plan. However, since San Juan is a surf capital, it's should be top priority. Although the hotel does not employ surfers for their guests, the beach behind the hotel has a hut where surfers hang out and can assist you. Good night sleep Despite the room being too small for comfort, we were actually able to sleep soundly. The bed was comfortable and the aircon was really cold which was good. Value for money Overall, this place deserves a 3 star mainly because it is affordable. You get what you pay for. It is a simple surf hotel with standard amenities.

I am not recommending to anyone this Hotel especially when you guys are planning an event. Terrible customer service. Not even just a bit of consideration. They just want revenue but NO marketing knowledge. Food is so so. Venue decoration is simple ( bride and groom was not impressed and I was not impressed either ). My sister just recently had their wedding reception in this hotel. Actually this hotel/venue was their last resort as everything good was totally booked. On the very last minute they booked the venue, consider that it was too far from the wedding ceremony. To cut the story short, after the wedding ceremony they arrived at the venue (Hotel Ariana) really late from what has been discussed (4pm until 8pm),Everybody was stuck for almost 2 hour on a traffic. So instead of arriving at 4pm they arrived around 6:45pm. As everything did not go well to what has planned, my sister asked for consideration for the management to waive the additional 1 hour for everybody to finish all their foods and of course to enjoy the party. BUT they refused to waive the charge. Alysa who is in-charge on that night was firmed on her decision that my sister need to pay for an extra hour because according to them it is not their fault that dpwh is doing a road widening that is why they were late for almost 2 hour. My sister called the attention of the manager, BUT same thing, my sister need to pay additional (4K pesos), actually it was 4,500 but they took off the 500 as a discount (LOL, thank you for the 500 pesos discount, such a big help... LOL). Another thing, since everybody was late and stuck on a traffic , a lot of visitor didn't go to the reception. My sister paid 100pax on the contract. But it was only 70pax or less attended. Obviously there are lots of left over foods. My mom asked if they can to go those left over as we all know those foods are already been paid. BUT they said NO, they can't take it home. My question is... where did they put those left over foods??? hhhmmmmmm!!! Im pretty sure it was not dumped in the trash bin. To the management and staff, you are very welcome. Hope you guys enjoy the foods ??? To the management of Ariana, if you want revenue. Try to be generous sometimes. Giving away for free or waiving an hour or so for using your service or venue is not a pain in your @$$, (it is a marketing strategy gaining lots of returning guests to your property) and will not decrease your revenue. Your guests will appreciate the gesture and they will transfer the good deed to everyone they know. Poor thing that you just want to gain more and more revenue but not gaining returning guests. Returning guests is the key to more Revenue, just so you know ?

This is the worst stay ever on my entire life. We stayed in room 6 which is has a foul odour on the entire room. The television signal is so bad as well as cellular reception is bad too. It is better to bring a pocket wifi because this "hotel" doesn't have a wifi, cellular data is useless here because you will get no signal on LTE. You don't have to stay here very long. Just get a good hotel and don't look for a cheap price because you get what you pay for.

About 160 miles north of Manila lies the pretty town of San Juan in La Union Province. Here the wide sandy beaches blend with the hills that form the base of the Cordillera Mountain Range. The wide sandy beaches provide for fun in the sun and excellent surfing. Arrive at our reception area and you will find a friendly welcome smile and a hassle-free check-in, our guests are our priority.
Nice people, but they didn't tell us they had a water problem (no clean water, only suspicious-looking salt water coming thru the pipes) until we arrived and discovered it. That included the swimming pools and outdoor shower. Only on the second day they offered clean water (in bottles). In the meantime I got a staph-like infection on my feet and needed to go to hospital and take antibiotics. The first question the doctor asked was if I had come in contact with unclean water. As well, we paid extra in advance for a hot breakfast, then when we arrived was told their restaurant was still closed. They ordered in some rather cold fast food in styrofoam.

Bella Vista Resort is a combination day public swimming with kubo ( cottage rentals) and a hotel villa with a onsite rental. We are on the outskirts of Naguilian a town ten minutes from the ocean. We feature 5 rooms on one floor that surround a commonly shared living roo The hotel villa is right next to the pool. The pool has 3 areas ranging from 2 ft to 7 ft deep. Our model is to have a place.
What a nasty place to stay. Let me start from the beginning. We booked one of the rooms, as it looked good on the pictures, it was supposed to be 22m2 deluxe studio (as described by the owner), so it seemed large enough to spread our luggage on the floor. We booked the room for 4 nights, and arrived at around 8pm. Upon arrival, we entered the kitchen/reception area, and the place was deserted. Me managed to locate someone who we could deal with , after talking to two diffrent people that were wandering around the reception/kitchen area. Owner's wife came and I said we had the booking made for one of their deluxe studio rooms for 4 nights, she replied , the booking she had for us was for 1 night. She then called her husband, and after a few minutes of discussion, they confirmed it was in fact for 4 nights. The owner came and I told him, we booked one of their better rooms, the deluxe studio for 4 nights. He wasn't happy after hearing me saying this, and said that those rooms were booked and we could only stay there for two nights and then we would have to move to an other room. He then said, he would give us one of his best rooms, newly built one. We went to take a look at the room, it was one of the room by the car park, with only one large glass door, no windows The room looked small, but since we were tired we tought we would try, as he assured us, if we were not happy he would change the room for us. We were then told by the owner that breakfast is strictly from 07:30 - 08:00 am, if we come by 08:30 we would be eating cold breakfast. The restaurant closes by 06:00pm we were told. The place looked completely empty, old , and poorly looked after and not what you see on those glossy pictures. We asked the owner if he could supply us with some small fridge, as there was none in the room, so we could keep some cold water and mangoes in, he wasn't very happy about the request, and said that he will try to buy one the next day, but as we spoke to him more, we could see he wasn't happy about buying a small fridge for the room, he wanted desperately for us to use his bar, even to buy some water when the bar in fact is closed after 06:00 pm. We went to our room, and we quickly realised that: the room was very small, not enough space to spread our luggage and be able to walk around, the room was very basic, no ventilation in the bathroom, no window in the bathroom, so if you take shower or use the toilet, all this smell and steam has nowhere to escape, and no window in the room (apart of that large glass door). We wanted to watch TV, it wasn't working, Netflix was constantly reloading, buffeting when we were trying to watch a movie, toilet door was not matching the door frame, so you had to use some force to try to open or close the toilet door, which was noisy, so if one of you wanted to use the tolet night time, the noise would wake the other person up, water in the toliet, after flushing wasn't going down, it was taking a long time for the water to slowly go down. The next morning, noisy music from the kitchen area woke us up at 07:00 am. We went to the kitchen area to have some breakfast, which was very basic, one saussage, rice, and some watermelon pieces. We only saw one other couple staying in the hotel that night, which was confirmed by the staff. After breakfast we asked one of the staff to show us other rooms in the hotel as by that time we decided we didn't want to stay in that room which was given to us, but wanted to move to the room which we booked, the deluxe studio room. We were taken by one of the staff to see other rooms, and we instantly recognized the room which was on the picture when we were booking. We asked the staff we wanted to move to the room which we booked and paid for, as it was a larger room, had a large bathroom and a window in the room and in the bathroom. We showed her online the room which we booked and she recognized it was the room which we wanted to move to. She told us, that room was booked from the next day and the other room which was similar was being occupied. We told her also about the TV in our room which was not working, no TV reception, and no ventilation in the bathroom. She said she would call the owner as he was somewhere else and wouldl come back by 05:00pm. As we were passing the swimming pool, I thought to myself , I wouldn't want to swim here, as it looked dirty. We went to our room, waited for about 10 mins, then I went back to the kitchen area and I saw the staff talking to the owner by the phone. When I approached her, she handed me the phone over to talk to the owner, I then told the owner, very politely , we wanted to change to room for the one which we booked and paid for , his first reply was " I don't care what you have booked, that room was booked" yelling to me over the phone. I told him ," I didn't care either, that was the room we booked, you made the room available for us to book, we were happy with the standard of the room, after checking many others, and that's why we booked it, you have accepted the booking and now you need to provide us with the standard of the room that you advertised." He wasn't talking to me, he was yelling. He then started saying he never advertised on Agoda, but on booking.com, and Agoda was the site we made the booking through, then he started saying he could give us the room but only for one night, then we would hve to move to the other room and then to another again, so we would have to change rooms 3 times over the next 3 nights. We were on holidays to enjoy ourselves and not to be staying , wasting our time to change pack and unpack every day. As I was talking , he tried to interrupt me, not letting me finish, when I said to him "let me finish what I am saying", he disconnected the call. We then decided to move out, and look for another place to stay. The staff appologised to us, and admitted we were given the wrong room, but we knew , we were not prepared to waste our time, waiting for the owner to come back at 05:00 pm ( as it was only 10:00 am), we were on holidays trying to relax ourselves and not to be getting ourselves in arguments and stressing. We again checked this hotel's website and this deluxe studio room was still being advertised as available for those 3 nights that we booked it for, but couldn't have it , as it was booked by someone else, so he advertised the same room , knowing full well, it was booked and not available anymore Over the next few days we exchanged with the owner a few emails, he refused to refund our money and was coming up with some made up stories, which were contradicting what he said earlier. If you have any respect for yourself avoid this nasty place as much as you possibly can. Out of all the places we have stayed at , this was , by far, the worst hotel we have ever stayed in.

We spent the night here at Balay on our way going to Ilocos. We enjoyed our stay. The rooms were cozy, spacious, and very clean. The whole place has an Ilokano vibe to it. My kids enjoyed staying at the garden. What I loved most was "Basi" - their restaurant located at the topmost floor which offered a relaxing ambience, nice view, and good food! Thank you Tita Remy for graciously hosting us. Very much recommended!

I stay here when i'm in town. Best for your budget and a nice beach view. The manager, Mona was extra friendly, and extended every courtesy she could. There is also a restaurant and bar inside the resort which is popular at night.
