Most people wait for their stay to get over to write a review but here I am sitting at the magnificent writing desk in my room at Harrington Residency, feeling content and happy to have chosen this gem of a hotel for my short stay in Kolkatta. Nearby, my cats are lounging on the warm comfortable bed. I have lived in bigger hotels but none of them have charmed me as The Harrington Residency. The hotel is in a posh part of the city with museums and other attractions a short ride away, and legendary restaurants at walking distance. The Boutique hotel is housed in a building that is easily 100 years old. Unassuming from the outside, the Victorian interiors of the hotel take you back in time. There is a huge verandah with comfortable chairs and tables where you can longe and sip on your tea while the sparrow chirp happily from the trees. The rooms are palatial with 30 feet high ceiling, huge palatial beds and beautiful lighting. The glass walls let natural sunlight stream into the room during the day. The bathrooms are surprisingly modern. Clearly, Mrs. Khullar, the owner, put her heart and soul into designing this hotel. There is also an art gallery on the other side of the hotel adding to its charm. The staff is smiling, kind and helpful. The food is delicious. I highly recommend The Harrington Residency for short and long stays. We are surely coming back!

Stayed at this property for 5 nights. It is a good hotel for budget travelers ideal for those who loves shopping. Gariahat market is very near where one can get any type of clothing they want. There are many famous bengali restaurants near by where one can have the taste of famous bengali dishes. The room amenities in the hotel are OK enough for a common traveler, only breakfast requires more variety. Love to come back again.

The hotel location is A+. My room is on the 2nd floor with good view to the street. The hotel staff is helpful though the 2 receptionists (I guess they're also hotel managers) are not friendly. They always sit to talk to guests. Never smile. Never say "sir/ madame". The room is neat and clean but like other hotels in Kolkata, the restroom is rather old and mold. Breakfast has a few choices.

Welcome to The Ivy House, your Kolkata (Calcutta) “home away from home.” The Ivy House aims to make your visit as relaxing and enjoyable as possible, which is why so many guests continue to come back year after year. For those interested in checking out popular landmarks while visiting Kolkata (Calcutta), The Ivy House is located a short distance from Kalighat Kali Temple (1.5 mi) and South Park Street Cemetery (1.6 mi). Guest rooms offer air conditioning, a seating area, and a desk. While visiting Kolkata (Calcutta), you may want to try some dumplings at one of the nearby restaurants, such as Mainland China, Mainland China, or Vintage Asia. There is no shortage of things to do in the area: explore popular art galleries such as Academy of Fine Arts, Aakriti Art Gallery, and CIMA Gallery. The Ivy House puts the best of Kolkata (Calcutta) at your fingertips, making your stay both relaxing and enjoyable.
Tucked away in the conveniently located and sought after suburb of Ballygunge Swinhoe St in South Kolkata, The Ivy House is a little hidden treasure one must explore on a trip to Kolkata, India. The property has rooms beautifully themed around flowers (Jasmine, Lotus, etc) and is able to provide a personalised service since the no of rooms is 4 (or maybe 5). I stayed in "Lotus" for 6 nights as a self quarantine measure on arrival from Sydney and my experience was fantastic! The rooms are thoughtfully done and my four poster bed was a piece of heritage art... toilet was immaculate and I must say all facilities were in place keeping Indian as well as international guests in mind. However, the best part of Ivy House is its staff - professional, courteous, willing to go out of the way to cater to requests (for e.g. I requested a work desk arrangement in the room and it was made available in less than 20 mins). Each and every employee is well trained and ready to make your stay comfortable. The breakfast menu is delicious and every morning I would try something new and was never disappointed. Cherry on the cake is the café at the property, Karma Kettle.... although I didn't leave my room due to quarantine, the staff were willing to serve me in the room - they have a fine variety of teas to choose from. PS: Do pop by to try the nolen gurer cha (my favourite) or one of their tissanes or really good quality darjeeling first flush, with the gorasahib tea set (a clever Indian twist to the quintessential British afternoon tea). Overall, I would highly recommend staying at the Ivy House, specially for those looking for a personal touch and for something different than a usual run of the mill hotel experience!

We take pride in introducing ourselves as one of the fastest growing ‘Business Resort’ in the hospitality industry of Kolkata. Palm Village Resort opened in 1993 as a landmark Luxury Resort in Kolkata; today it proudly stands as a piece of art amidst 10 acres of landscaped greenery and a stroke of blue skyline beyond. Consisting of 48 luxury rooms and 3 Conference Halls.
Visited this place with the expectations of going to a decent place but was very disappointed after coming here. Here are the reasons why The place is absolutely I'll maintained. Food is terrible and highly over priced. They do not even provide shampoo in the rooms. Play area for the kids is extremely rusty and unclean Our room was not cleaned even after advance booking. Had to call house keeping to clean it. Foul smell from all the rooms that we had booked Cleaning Staff is not hygienic. No ac in the dining hall No fan in the area outside where we were asked to eat our lunch. No mosquito repellent in the outdoor seating area. Would not like to come back to this place unless they upgrade it for the better.

Deceived by photos, I and my family got the worst hotel rooms ever, after the owner received the booking money. Worst hygiene, dirty and broken! On top of everything, the owner attempted a number of times to shift us from one room to the other, just to make more money from short-stayers. Unfortunately, we had to stay for long, because of lots of family assignments. Mentally draining experience.
