The elegant "Residenza Portacastello-Graffolus" is located in a very calm and quiet position, just a few meters from the historic Sant'Angelo square and Piazza Municipio (with the 14th century façade of the Civic Palace and the Church of Sant'Angelo) Antonio) and a 5-minute walk from Isernia Cathedral and Romanesque Fountain Fountain.
A pleasant and reasonably priced place to stay in Isernia
Reviewed By stoneymiddletonladI was in Isernia, my grandmother's ancestral town, in June of 2019 and meant to write a review then but never got around to it,so I do so now.. I cannot really comment on COVID-19 prescautions there because I traveled pre-COVID. The Residenze Portacastello has much to recommend it. Great location, very pleasant public spaces, reasonably priced. My room was on the ground floor and was a bit dark at night, but a) the air conditioning was great--it was very hot outside when I was there; b) my room had the most spacious and best appointed bathroom of any hotel I stayed at across my several weeks in Italy, and c) while yes, you had to walk a ways to the cafe that served breakfast for the hotel, it's a pleasant walk and the cafe itself was also very pleasant. I would definitely stay there again.

Reviewed By M781MMLindaThe staff were wonderfully helpful. The rooms were clean and spacious and include a lounge/kitchen. Pleasant garden breaks the sight and sound of traffic on the road outside. The B&B is close to a shopping mall with an excellent Conad supermarket and is walkable from the railway station and down to the historic centre.

Okay for a short stay
Reviewed By sunloverxyzWe are not B & B type people and our agent booked us here for a 2 night stay while traveling to the south of Italy. It is basically an apartment converted to a B & B with 2 small bedrooms and each has it's own private bathroom. We had the larger room with a window. The other room is smaller but has a small balcony. There is a common kitchen/dining area with a nice balcony where you can enjoy coffee or a drink if it is not occupied by the other guests.The space is clean and well kept.The bathrooms are small, not enough space for toiletries or even a hook to place damp towels. The kitchen is equipped with essentials but we were very disappointed with the breakfast offerings. There was a started tart on a side table that was there when we checked in and the same tart the day we left,some small cakes and cracker in cellophane wrap and some yogurt in the fridge. But be warned that this place has no air conditioning. We came here off the road traveling from Rome on a very hot day only to enter the room and discover this. Luckily there was a somewhat noisy fan and a window that opened. All in all adequate for very short stays.

Panorama meraviglioso. Camere pulitissime e sempre in ordine. Colazione abbondante e ben servita. Titolari disponibilissimi, cordiali e molto simpatici. Consigliatissimo!!!

E' possibile affittare tutta la struttura, una sola camera, con o senza uso di cucina, molta flessibilità. Recentemente ristrutturato, arredamento semplice ma funzionale e completo ottima la pulizia, vicinissimo alla stazione fs per chi arriva in auto (come noi) non c'è parcheggio riservato ma nelle vie adiacenti si trovano comunque parcheggi. Centro storico raggiungibile in 5 minuti di auto oppure 20 minuti a piedi, proprietario gentile e disponibile Nel rapporto qualità-prezzo merita il massimo
