The Best Western Hotel City Gavle is a charming and newly renovated hotel in the best downtown location. The hotel is located next to the shopping mall Galleria Nian and the main square and has 92 clean rooms that are pet and smoke free. All rooms have cable television, Internet access, shower and toilet. Directly connected to the hotel you can find the shopping streets Drottninggatan, Nygatan and the main square, with dozens of restaurants, bars and cinemas.

Reviewed By Marty2travelA good hotel in de centre of the city. Rooms were a bit small, but the breakfast made up for that. Bathroom was simple and the beds were comfortable. We parked our car in de parking building next to the hotel.

This is a cute and charming litle place, named hotel but it´s more like an B&B. Here you have comfy single and twin rooms, and you´ll find us at a perfect location in the city of Gavle (Gävle). Restaurants, shoping and museums are within walking distance. Included in our prices is a healty swedish breakfast, and you get free Internet! Pets are allowed in some of the rooms.

Reviewed By thobjoClean rooms, friendly staff, decent breakfast and complementary tea, coffee and biscuits. Unfortunately the rooms arent sounfproof at all and you can hear your neighbours down the hallway snoring. You get value for your money, but next time I will stay at a more expensive hotel. In contrast to some other reviewers I don't find the hotel charmig, just old and in need of a renovation.

A different hotel experience
Reviewed By ParesandefotThe hotel has a great location, along the waterfront in a nice brick building. the room I had was quiet, which I appreciate. There is no staff at the hotel when you check in, instead you get a code for the doors, and then find a key in a key box. There is bread and cheese et cetera in the fridge for an evening sandwich and there is a coffee or tea machine so that you can make a cup for yourself. The same goes in the morning: the staff arrives around 7.30 so if you get up before that you make your own breakfast from ingredients in the fridge. I wish the rating system below included something between average and very good - plain good. I think the hotel is quite nice, staff friendly and helpful - and it is different with this - serve yourself - arrangement. But I also think that the price is fairly high in relation to this. Seems to me hotels in Gävle are expensive on the whole. And in light of this, Alderholmen is a nice, small, hotel.

The rooms were very dated and in need of a lot of TLC. the beds were like my grannies, but they did the trick for 1 night. the bathroom was small and for a big bloke like me was cramped. Some of the other rooms were bigger and more spacious. There was no evening meal available and the breakfast was a normal continental nothing special

There is a small popular business and family hotel with a personal touch, located in the south. Reviewed By kruxetReally bad room with a crappy shower! Spots everywhere, broken showerhead, broken sofa. Bare minimum on the breakfast! No staff at arrival, just a envelope at the counter and a mail with a code for the door. We are never gonna stay there again!

Engeltofta Residence have 28 Sea Lodges, all with a ocean view! We are located 10 minutes from the city centre of Gavle. Our apartments are equipped with 3 bedrooms, with beds for up to 5 persons, 2 showers/toilets, a small kitchen area and a living room, 2 outdoor decks, one facing the pool and putting green.

Reviewed By signebrockmanStayed here for a conference two days and everything was to my safisfaction. The cabins are big and has everything you need like kitchenstuff, washing machine and tv. Wifi was good everywhere. I was not so impressed with the vegetarian food. At dinner the waitress told everyone about the food but not about the vegetarian food. Thats boring and not good service. This place must be perfect for familys with kids in the summer.

A wonderful stay
Reviewed By Agathe FVery well located in the center, the best place you can have, a beautiful view on Christmas decoration and also on the Gävlebocken tradition (that we could not see because we came to visit the city a week before December unfortunately...) Free breakfast and well prepared, and also free hot drink. Rooms are very clean, which is pleasant. And the very good point is the personal who are very welcoming and warming peoples. Very good accommodation in cheap price

The kitchenette had a small functioning stove, water heater, microwave oven, few pots, glasses, plates and cups and utensils. is a common kitchen as well with a nice dining area. The beds were comfy. They provided bed and pillow covers, blankets and towels. Bathroom was nice and clean. The host, James, was very friendly.

Worth the cost
Reviewed By swedeniloiloYou get what you pay for. It looks a bit strange and worn but it is not too bad. You get a room and you have access to two toilets and one shared shower. If you are tired and need to sleep without spending too much? This is the place! Some noise from the nearby street but not too bad. Breakfast included and better than expected. Very friendly staff. Parking on the premises included. Quite close to Gävle city center
