Unfortunate circumstances caused us to find a place for the night or two and so glad we found Shady Rest. Clean and tidy, wonderful operator, great hot shower, towels and toiletries, and a comfortable bed. Will definitely book again when needing accommodation in Gympie.

Had a very poor recent experience at the Goomeri Motel. Our family had made a significant accommodation booking some four to five months prior to our overnight stay. Circumstances dictated we needed to be available to catch a coach to a family wedding and were keen to gain an earlier admission to meet this commitment. After a number of approaches to management they proved to be most arrogant and inflexible in our requests. This was exacerbated by a rather rude response when approaching the reception office 15 mins prior the the set 2pm book in While the room and amenities were generally clean, the standard of bathroom towels was quite thin bare and not of a satisfactory standard. The toilet seat in one of our rooms was actually insecure and slipping off the pedestal when in use. This has been an unfortunate experience, considering the positive recommendations we took in making a booking at the motel such a long way out from the formal wedding date. Unfortunately we will not be taking up the option in the future PJS Brisbane.

Located half way along the Eastern beach of Fraser Island, we are located perfectly for the days of adventuring if it be for the fishing or inland. We are located within a 5 minute stroll to the waters edge so listening to the waves at night from your room is always a lovely way to end the day. We have cabins and motel rooms available for accommodation along with a swimming pool and camp kitchen for you to cook the fish you caught earlier in the day. If you don't feel like cooking then we also have a fully licensed bar in our restaurant/cafe which serves food from 7.30 every morning until late. We also have fuel, souvenirs, food, bait, tackle and all sorts of bits and pieces available for your holiday in our shop.
Thanks so much for an amazing holiday! We had the best time and will definitely return! A big thank you to "Dodge" who went out of his way to help entertain our 6-year-old boy and really helped us to enjoy our incredible dinner out with you. Dodge also dropped everything to help us get into our unit when we locked ourselves out. We are extremely thankful to Dodge and all the wonderful staff there that made our stay memorable and just downright awesome! We will be back soon! Thanks again ?

Travelling from Brisbane to Rockhampton, we phoned this run-down motel at approx. 8.45pm. We had just flown in from interstate and since it was raining quite hard, we decided that we wouldn't risk travelling past Gympie in the rain at that hour of the night. This rude and extremely unprofessional woman grunted as she answered the phone. I asked if she had a room available for that night and after more grumbles from her, she accepted our booking and quoted $10 more than the room was advertised at. I explained that we were approx. an hour away and we reluctantly made our way to what had already presented itself as the motel to absolutely avoid at any cost. When we arrived approx 10 to 15 mins later than we had hoped (it absolutely poured with rain which slowed our journey), I can honestly say that she could not possibly have been any more rude and her behaviour was far less than that expected of somebody running a motel. If she didn't want to take a booking at that hour, it would be far more professional to have said that they were fully booked or just not have answered the phone if she didn't know how to set up a voicemail indicating that reception was closed. AND she should have had the intuition to alter her "Vacancy" sign to "No Vacancy" so that she didn't have to put her rude self on display to travellers spending their money at such an institution. Please avoid this nightmare as I am sure that whatever you did whilst booking or checking in, would still see you as disappointed and astonished as we were.

Had a wonderful weekend away at Amamoor Lodge. We had Malcolm and Christine arrange our tickets for the Mary Valley Rattler which was very enjoyable and then had a very comfortable stay in the lodge with our hosts preparing our dinner and breakfast which we had included in our tariff. Our room was beautifully decorated, extremely clean and the bed was very comfortable. Overall it was a very relaxing weekend and we were made to feel very welcome. We highly recommend Amamoor Lodge for a special weekend away in a beautiful unspoilt location.

All rooms are different in style but all have identical comforts with dining tables, refrigerators, tea and coffee making facilities, toaster and an egg-cooker, TV, DVD, hairdryer, bathrobes and ironing facilities. All rooms are en-suited, but each room varies. Two have large bathrooms, shower-recess and twin vanities one with spa, one with standard bath whilst two have smaller en-suites.
My family and I stayed at the B&B after we became stuck in Hervey Bay due to flooding. It is clear that the owner has put a lot of love and care into the place. The breakfast was really nice, and the dining area was very welcoming. The owner was very friendly, and has a lovely Labrador dog. The internet and air con was very good. Would definitely recommend to other travellers.

We have travelled the world and this place is more one star than four ! Looks like a tip out front , long way from anywhere , no covered area for the car ( storms happen in this area ) Pool is not sterilized. Rain tank drinking water ( no one told us ) Rooms are dark and dingy and dusty . " Best bedroom" room closets are used for hosts storage and stink of mothballs. Host insisted on cash payment which we paid BEFORE we inspected the rooms . Big mistake.

The grounds are beautiful, the cabin was a good size with good amenities. There is some maintenance TLC needed on the cabin. New manager Rose was friendly, but disappointed to hear there was no breakfast as web site had stated. Fire pit out front of cabin was great idea, pity no wood supplied, found dead wood in garden to use. Nice experience but didn't match all the excellent previous reviews,

Peaceful and relaxing. Maybe you want action. Susan River Homestead caters for everyone, any age. A safe environment for the kids and family, yet enjoyable enough for the more active people. Horse riding, para sailing, water skiing, wake-boarding, paintball, abseiling. All of this is located on the 1660 acre property, plus more. Rooms are comfortable with an en-suite, tea/coffee facilities. Split system air con in every room. A family, joined motel room is available upon request at an extra cost. The restaurant is welcoming with a fire lit in the winter. Throw the doors open in summer to enjoy the country fresh smells carried on the breeze. Come and try for yourself.
Great hosts and the motorhome parking was easy. Norm really made us feel special and is so welcoming. The kids loved the pool, trampoline and cinema room. Its so peaceful and a very relaxing place. We didn't manage to go horse riding due to bad weather, but we'll definitely be back. Great family friendly park - highly recommended.
