Perhaps the title of our review will give you an indication of our experiences, but this is easily one of the best, if not best, B&Bs we’ve ever stayed at, We were greeted by Marcus and their dog, Stella (she by the way is a very sweet and friendly dog that we loved). We got to meet Elin the next morning as we had arrived late. The attention to details, quality of our breakfasts and beauty of their home was simply amazing. They accommodated us so thoughtfully as among the four of us some were vegetarians and one of us did not eat eggs. This presented no issues whatsoever for Elin and Marcus as their breakfasts were delicious and prepared with our tastes strictly in mind. Another wonderful aspect of Idlewild is the number of “community rooms” to hang out, play games and simply relax. They insisted on our making ourselves at home and utilizing certain areas of the kitchen for storing or heating up leftovers or snacks. Marcus was often checking in to ensure we were comfortable and was so accessible as he responded practically instantaneously to one’s text. The bedrooms themselves were spacious and beautiful, spotlessly clean, too, thanks to their excellent and very friendly staff. Those, too, who assisted in the serving of our breakfasts were equally friendly and yet professional and courteous. Marcus and Elin have constructed a webpage, so user friendly and very informative concerning places to hike, eat or visit. Further, they were incredibly helpful in guiding us to places such as wineries and restaurants and places to hike, thereby expanding on the information already proffered on their website/webpage. The huge and wonderful deck, too, opened up to inspiring views of Lake Seneca and there was a gazebo on the grounds. Many places are within walking distance and be prepared to get some great exercise as the streets present some steep hills. But we loved that too as Idlewild is located and situated such that you get those beautiful views of the region. We’re going back in the late fall so this, too, should tell you how we feel about this place: the area and most importantly its owners, Elin and Marcus, their staff, the accommodations and Stella! Cannot recommended Idlewild Inn enough.

Our contemporary solar powered home has five large comfortable rooms, including two log cabins. All have queen sized beds, private baths, and air-conditioning. We feature beautiful country views, yet are just minutes from Seneca and Keuka Lakes. Enjoy one of our award-winning breakfasts, then relax and watch the goldfinches and hummingbirds as they flit through our flower gardens. Fill your days with all that the Finger Lakes have to offer, then relax on our spacious deck and gazebo. In the evening, we can recommend a restaurant that suits your mood. On clear nights we can give star tours with a large telescope on our back lawn.
What a great find! We stayed in the cabin; it is a perfect place to relax, bed is comfortable, and the quilts are warm and pretty. Enjoyed the beautiful views in the morning with coffee or at night at the fire pit with friends after a fun day at the winery. Breakfast is delicious the home-grown berries and juice made it even better. The owners are super friendly and knowledgeable of the area all question my husband asked had been answered, thank you Charles for taking your time to talk to us, you and your wife are blessed with a beautiful home and grounds. We all LOVED our stay. Hope to see you again.

The award winning William Henry Miller Inn is located in the heart of downtown Ithaca. Built by Cornell University's first architecture student, the details are stunning--chestnut woodwork, Tiffany stained glass, original shutters. Our full breakfast features all homemade breads, homemade English Muffins and bagels accompanied by homemade jams. Our evening dessert buffet is the perfect way to end the day. We are happy to accommodate dietary requests. Within walking distance of fifty restaurants, Cornell University, Cascadilla Gorge and just a short hop to Ithaca College, we are really central to everything. Providing concierge service and a business center, parking is right on site. Parking and wireless are included in the rate. Proud to be a member of Select Registry and Lynnette Scofield received the Innkeeper of the Year Award by Select Registry.
What a wonderful stay at the fabulous, clean, and comfortable William Henry Miller Inn! We had a great night’s sleep in the Turret. The location can’t be beat. We easily took a waterfall-filled hike before an amazing breakfast. From the desserts waiting for us in our room to the coffee and tea station to the service, there is attention to detail that exceeded our expectations.

4 room boutique style Inn in the center of historic Market Street, down town Corning. Surrounded by shops and restaurants in the heart of the beautiful Finger Lakes. Everything is within walking distance. There is no better location in all of Corning!
Excellent location for walking in town, very large, very clean room and bathroom. Easy check in downstairs. We stayed on a Thursday night in May, so no noise at all from bar/restaurant downstairs and street noise not that bad. There are stairs, and they are narrow so definitely not for everybody, but we would definitely stay again.

Welcome to the Grayhaven Motel. A charming vintage motor lodge located in Ithaca, a small city in the beautiful Finger Lakes region of New York State. We offer 16 rooms year-round and one very cute 1964 Shasta camper during the summer months. Our lovingly restored motel has been hosting vacationers and travelers for more than 100 years. You’ll find classic and spacious mid-century rooms as well as fully equipped cottages and suites with kitchenettes. Rooms have been thoughtfully restored with period fixtures and modern amenities to ensure a comfortable, unique, and sustainable stay. Several of our rooms are dog friendly. We, Alexis and Mark, are the current stewards of this very sweet historic hotel and accompanying 11 acres. Four years into a major rehabilitation of the property, we hope you’ll join us for the adventure, and follow along as we work to preserve the history and charm of this local landmark.
I’ve stayed at The Grayhaven four times now and it’s terrific in any season. Always clean, cozy, and reasonably priced, it just gets better and better. We took two rooms for my daughter’s graduation. The coffee, tea, yogurt, fruit, and breakfast rolls were fresh and delicious. We enjoyed hanging out at the patio, the view is gorgeous. If we had more time, we would have taken advantage of the fire pit and s’mores. It’s just past Buttermilk Falls, conveniently located away from the congestion of town. The owners are delightful. We’ll be back again!

We stayed here one night for our birthdays. The owner was very nice and mapped out for us all the nearby restaurants as well as recommended some wineries to try out. The room has a key to lock it, not a card, which was charming. The place was super clean. Will stay here again next time.

Check out the 2014 New York's Finger Lakes Region Travel Guide for more ideas (we are featured on page 21). Bit.Ly/2014TravelGuide This historic motel is an excellent choice for families, business travelers, or those simply road-tripping through the Finger Lakes wine country on a budget. The main building was built in the 1880s and still retains a lot of its vintage charm. The back rooms were added in 1950s and also retain the classic mid-century look and decor of a more peaceful and restful time. (We still use metal keys, not plastic key cards). We are more than a simple B&B resort. We provide free Wi-Fi and free parking, but the secret of our success is our attention to detail to provide clean rooms and a hospitable atmosphere at an affordable price. You will find our staff enthusiastic and courteous with your comfort and pleasure our priority. We offer late check-in, and are open to drop-ins when available. Oh, and while in Watkins Glen, we recommend you try our small batch homemade ice cream, with vegan ice cream. And for our meat eaters, we have our very tasty Beef On Weck sandwich. It has gotten great reviews. We also offer handcrafted pottery, ceramics and other locally created items. You can also view our active beehive and see the honey, if you find the queen bee you get a free small ice cream.
Stayed 2 nights recently and enjoyed the motel. Great location next to the State Park entrance. We woke early and being so close didn't have to mess the the parking lot crowds. A few blocks from the heart of downtown and the waterfront. Room was small but perfect for two. Window AC unit, small shower stall. Ice cream was great! And they have a wood fire pizza oven on site.

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights in the Millard room for an October Wine tasting weekend! I feel this Inn is a gem! First of all, the pictures online do not do it justice. It is a beautiful very well taken care of historical home that has been refurbished back to its original fire places, hardwood floors, high ceilings, and beautifully decorated! The Millard Room was stunning and very well appointed with top of the line towels, linens, bedding and everything we needed for the weekend! The purple walls with dark wood features and carved sleigh bed were so aesthetically pleasing! The room was very spacious which is hard to find in old bnbs and there was a sufficient amount of outlets near the beside tables and around the room which can also be very hard to find when staying in old homes! The mattress was a great combination of soft and firm and I slept better than in my own bed at home!! This home and the rooms are clean!! I didn't even see a spot of dust anywhere! And the room, house, bedding and linens all smelled so clean and fresh! The innkeeper Wendy is so down to earth and accommodating and genuinely wants to make you feel at home! Wendy's breakfasts are delicious and we appreciated the cookies at night with complimentary water, teas, coffee and juices! There is a fire pit and wood out back that you are free to use. The view of the mountains and farmland are stunning and it is a nice quiet area! It is a 10 minute drive to wineries on the east side of Keuka, 15 minutes to Penn Yan and 15 minutes to wineries on the west side of Seneca. It's a great little spot in the middle of the 2 lakes! We cannot wait to go back and visit Wendy and her sweet, friend dog Bella again!!?
