Great Hungarian experience
Reviewed By MrRibitThis place is right next to the main (Dobo) square, it is a clean, spacious apartment with private or shared kitchen options. If you want a real Hungarian experience then this is a much better option than a modern hotel. It is an old building with a spiral stone staircase (no good for disabled). The rooms look out onto a tranquil inner courtyard, very typical in Hungary. Parking is available right outside which does need some car juggling at times but host Laszlo is always on the look out and there when you need him. The mem foam beds are a little too firm but no reason to dock points for this great place.

Erla Villa lays in a quite little side-street, with a wonderful ambiance in the old-town of Eger, and offers a perfect starting point for business travellers and sightseers as well. The Villa's asset counts more than 2000 m2, and waits its Guests all year long with jacuzzi, inside pool, sauna and 10 luxury suites, each with their own special ambiance. The Villa's wonderful ornament is the Garden itself, which inculdes a fishpond, a little brook with a veil waterfall, and a relaxing terrace. Luxury desing was created by Zoltán Varró, interior designer, alloying the baroque and the modern style.
Disappointing October vacations at Erla Villa
Reviewed By MedinaB33I had such mixed feelings after my stay that it took a while to process it and write a review. I made a reservation for 10 days holiday in advance, the person who answered the reservation phone didn't speak English so I wrote a request via mail. I have been suggested 2 rooms for my dates, one of which was a standard double room and another - a two-level duplex. I planned to stay mostly by myself so I picked a smaller one, unfortunately, the picture of it was not at a website. After when my boyfriend decided to join me for a weekend, I asked how much the extra going to be and the answer was that he has to pay the complete amount for 3 days stay though I have already paid the room. It took us 3 emails to figure out that it was a misunderstanding. At arrival we discovered that the room at ground floor that sales girl suggested for my 10 days vacation, which is a long stay considering everyone come for 2-3 days tops, has no natural light, is very cold (end of October is not yet a heating season, so only AC hot air was an option though the batteries are there on the wall), especially the bathroom felt like a cellar. Taking a shower was very uncomfortable and the environment was depressing. I asked to change the room, and an alternative was possible only for 4 nights during the week. The reception girl looked surprised and said that "Tuscany suite is a business room, guests don't stay long there".Why it didn't occur to the booking manager in the first place?!!? Other lovely details to remember 1) Maid knocking at my door at 7.30 am 2) Weird looking grey foam appearing in the jacuzzi every day 3) No instructions for switching on sauna 4) Lost waiter at the breakfast not giving hot breakfast menu to me 5) I was promised to be moved to nicer room for 2 nights but they gave it away to a VIP regular guest instead 6) I cancelled last 2 dinners in advance cause the food was heavy but the ending bill was not detailed and confusing, my feeling was i was charged for it anyway. All in all, I paid 425 650 huf for a lousy cold room and for poor client service. I believe the place is understaffed, the management prefers Hungarian guests to foreigners, that is the only legitimate explanation for this kind of attitude. I live in Hungary for three years now, but it is the first time I felt so disappointed. -

Reviewed By TkpitypangElegimos el lugar principalmente por nuestro hijo de 8 años con la ilusión para que tenga posibilidad de conocer los caballos en su entorno. Lamentablemente a la hora de llegar resultó que no pudimos montar a caballo porque tenían un campamento de verano con muchos niños. :(( Las habitaciones están muy descuidadas. A las 9 de la noche ya no hay nadie por allí. Es una pena que un lugar tan bonito esté tan mal cuidado y funcionando.

The house can be found nearby (approximately 150 m) the Eger Castle, the Bitskey Aladar swimming pool and the thermal bath. Dobo Street, which leads to the city centre, is 100 metres far. The house has 9 rooms and a well-equipped kitchen and a dining area. There is a huge garden with garden furniture to relax, it is also suitable to have a barbecue.

Location of accomdation is perfect close to pools, close to downtown ...Hause has a nice layout of rooms and building itself is a old fashion hause with "soul" :-D Fully recommend to choose this option.....we will defiintelly return again.

W pokoju wentylator, który bywa bardzo przydatny, w gorące dni, doskonała alternatywa dla pokoi z klimatyzacją, która często zawyża cenę pokoju, a nie zawsze jest przydatna. Lokalizacja idealna dla odwiedzających Dolinę Pięknej Pani.

It has handy facilities such as the kitchenette where we were able to make breakfast and lunch which saved us a bit of money too! Highly recommend.

Reviewed By 952sarisWe loved this place. It’s like a 10-15 minute walk from town center, it’s located in a beautiful quiet part of town. The kitchen is huge and had everything we needed, the hosts are super nice and alway helpful. Our bed was comfortable, huge room for a good price. Would definitely stay again!

Poor rooms and service, great gardens and pools

Cons: too many. * Rooms are run down. Broken windows, uncomfortable beds and sofas. * Dirty: the bed sheets were full of hairs. * Breakfast was okay, but wasn't ready on time or well-managed. We were the only ones staying at the hotel at that time (4 people, so not much food to prepare), but had to keep reminding them to fill or bring missing things... * If that's important to you - Eger city center can be reached within a 20 min walk (it's up a hill) or by car. The neighborhood itself isn't very pleasant.
