George III Hotel is superbly situated at the head of the magnificent Mawddach estuary. It is said to be one of the most beautiful in europe. The main Hotel was built in 1650 and was once a ships chandlers serving the flourishing boat building industry until around 1890 when it was converted into the Hotel & recently refurbished to a very high standard with 6 luxurious en-suite in the main building and our lodge rooms were converted in the 1970's to form 4 en-suite guest bedrooms from what was the Railway Station and Sation Masters House.
An amazing hotel, just over the wooden toll bridge, turn right. You will not be disappointed. From the amazing food, music, to the very friendly staff. We were made to feel very welcome and didn’t want to leave. My visit with my sister cannot be faulted. A pudding is a must! Be sure to visit.

Met some friends here at lunchtime for drinks/meals/chats . The place is ‘old’ but has character and the tables are well apart in the spacious rooms. Lovely food (I had gammon and triple cooked chips) . The service was very good and we will definitely visit again if we go on holiday again in that area. Park at the ‘Marian’ car park close-by (£3.30 for 3 hours).

After travelling Europe for nearly the last 8 months, this is the best place I’ve stayed. It’s a family run B&B, and they’re all so friendly and helpful. The room was clean, and the beds were comfy. Breakfast was amazing and they were incredibly accommodating. My friend and I had to head out before the specified breakfast time and they were sure to make us each a breakfast sandwich before we left, and were also able to accommodate my friend who is a vegetarian. It is also located in the heart of Dolgellau, so all the restaurants, pubs, bakeries and stores are just around the corner, but we were also able to start and end our hike right at the doorstep, so location was perfect! I highly recommend this place, and if/when I return to Dolgellau, I will definitely be staying here again! (they also had two incredibly friendly cats living there, which was a bonus)

A contemporary, welcoming, new Bar & Grill with Rooms located at the foot of Cadair Idris mountain and conveniently located on junction A470-A487. Enjoy fresh locally sourced food and a friendly atmosphere in our Bar & Grill or indulge yourself and spend a relaxing night away in one of our individually designed rooms that offer total comfort and real luxury.
We’ve been here to eat lunch and dinner a few times with friends and family as the food is usually pretty good but the service is never great, Today it was incredibly slow and lacking in interest towards the customers, the staff, one of which had an incredibly loud laugh that could be heard from the kitchens’ were more occupied by each other than their jobs. we got a drinks order then we’re left for nearly 40 minutes until we made eye contact with a waitress who then came over to take the order, The food was average. The best bit was the Welsh cider. We’ve given this place enough chances now and we won’t be back.

We recently stayed in room 7 it was great especially as our family, grandchildren & friends were all camping here too. The room was cosy the bed was the best I have ever slept in. Towels were lovely & fluffy & a lovely bathroom with plenty of hot water. We had to cross a cute stream to get to our room which had a nice little garden. The room was spotlessly clean, lots of tea & coffee etc. We loved it!

Booked through booking.com as a last minute thing. Great communication. Arrived late but no problem for the lady ho sorted us out. Very welcoming and the decor was very homely. The views? Well it’s north wales I don’t think it’s possible not to get great views from the window. Room was clean, tidy. The bathroom was up to date even if the rest of the room was old school which for me was perfect. Breakfast was continental for us but a great little range. Would stay again. Diolch

Lively and fun community pub with local characters and fantastic and calming atmosphere.
We stayed on a Saturday night and arrived as a Welsh international rugby match was about to start on the TV (there are lots in the pub) - the place was heaving!! I think this used to be much more of a foody pub, at the moment the focus is very much a drinks pub. Which wasn’t a problem for me as I love my ale and they had a great range. The room was fine, nice and clean with a fridge and fresh milk. The breakfast was the best I’ve had in a long time. Nice touches such as handmade cushions and really thick high quality curtains. I suspect that if you stayed here in the week it would be quite peaceful, but on a weekend be warned there is a fair bit of noise. We went up to the room at about midnight, but it is open well into the early hours (I think 3am although I was asleep long before that). I’m sure in the week it would be quieter though. If you are happy to stay in a lively pub then this place is fine, and Dolgellau is a nice little town.

We enjoyed our night in this very old property. The B & B facilites were comfortable and adequate. Mrs Price was a delightful hostess and suggested a wonderful place for our evening meal in this lovely Snowdonia village.
