There are 2,000 years of history in Cologne, and visitors here will find everything from Roman towers to Gothic churches to fine examples of modern architecture. Cologne has a variety of museums, too—check out the Museum of Applied Art, the Museum Ludwig and, if you have a sweet tooth, the Chocolate Museum. Be forewarned, though—the gift shop at the latter will utterly ruin your diet.

We knew that reception opening time was till 22:00 and therefore i wrote, in the booking note, "late checkin, our flight will land at 21.25". I thought that someone was waiting for us to checkin, it was just a matter of 30min. When we arrived, around 22:30, we found the door closed, we rang the bell, but nobody was answering. We then tried to call the hotel emergency number, none answered. Worried abut the situation, it was night and we were on the street without any accommodation. We then went into the restaurant beside the hotel entrance and fortunately we found a girl very kind to help us. She also tried to call the emergency number without success. After 5 calls, finally someone answered the phone, but unfortunately she was not able to speak English. I don't speak German, unfortunately, and I passed my phone to the girl of restaurant that talked to the girl from the hotel emergency number. She said that our code was 888, but neither us and the restaurant girl were able to find a pin pad to type this pin. The guy at the phone did not have an idea on where this pin pad could have been. After at least 20 minutes and other 2 calls, the hotel guy told us that the pin pad was in the street close to the ring bell, something really invisible, especially in the night. We finally got the key and entered our room. Together with the key, we got a welcome letter. Unfortunately it was in German and therefore we were not able to read it. Is it a good welcome? When we entered the room, we immediately noticed that it was not very clean and the bathroom even worse. The wc was really dirty (see pictures). We also noticed that a lot of long hairs were on the room/bath floor and on the table. We also found long hairs on bed sheets (see picts). Only half roll of toilet paper was available. We could not fix our issues because in the meanwhile the restaurant closed and if we had called the hotel emergency number, we would not have been able to communicate. The following day, we talked to the receptionist and he really apologized for what happened. He also changed our room, fortunately. We have finally asked for a late checkout for the next day, since our flight is at 22:00. We requested checkout at 18:00 and expected an immediate positive answer, after all problems we had, but the receptionist said that had to ask the boss. After a couple of hours we asked again and she said that we need to wait for tomorrow morning for his answer. The next day, late checkout was denied because the cleaning staff had to clean (?) the rooms. While leaving the hotel, we saw the bed sheets were left (during cleaning service) on the floor ... without any protection and we fully understand why the bed sheets were full of hairs... Having the room not fully cleaned can happen also in the best hotels, but usually a good customer care can fix immediately the issues and maybe add something complimentary to the impacted guest, just to give a strong sign of sorry. We haven't received anything in this hotel. Only another room (the second night).

we were due to stay here in march. Our flights were cancelled the day before due to Covid-19. we notified this hotel immediately that we would be unable to travel. Not only have they not replied to any emails, but they kept our money, refusing any kind of refund and telling the booking company we used when they managed to get them,..that we completed our stay.

Room was large and spacious. Bathroom was very nice. Breakfast was great and the staff in the dining room were very accommodating. Location was good. On a small street with lots of shops and eating establishments. Very close to the train station. Maybe a 3 minute walk. Tons of outlets and they gave free bottled water which was nice. I thought it was two rooms, but it was one very large room with two double beds. Which was fine, but the description could have been clearer. I was charged an extra €15 a night for our 5 year old. Other hotels in Europe didn't charge for him. They give 1 pillow person. When I went to ask for a couple of extra pillows and a blanket, I got the death stare, it felt like I was such a bother and was rude to ask for an extra pillow. It's not like I asked her to come tuck me into bed, I just wanted an extra pillow- a lot of people use two pillows when they sleep!

The owner was very courteous and kind. All of the staff were nice and helpful. Max was my favorite, he was very entertaining. The lobby was clean and playfully decorated. As was the rest of the hotel. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. It's located right by the Rhine River and close walking distance to the Koln Cathedral. I definitely recommend this hotel.

I'm not going to lie - I wasn't a fan of this hotel. That is NOT to say it wasn't nice but it really wasn't for me. It totally lacked personality. For the price you can't really complain but there was nothing that particularly stood out for me. I felt like I was staying in an office building. The WIFI was really quick (which was a bonus) and there was towels and soap provided. The staff were OK but I didn't really get a customer service feel to be honest. The cleaner offered me a fan in the heat (which was lovely). This review might be a bit harsh (simply because it wasn't my type of place) but I was glad I only stayed here one night. The view from my room was absolutely shocking (a building under construction) and no provision was made for the loud noise by the construction workers. On the plus side, it was in a really good location (next to the shopping centre). I wouldn't come back to be honest!

Stayed @ Maria Suites for two nights in July, Beautiful room, wont lie was extremely dubious when arrived but upon being showed to our room i was suitably impressed, Lovely spacious room which is what i like and it was extremely clean and modern which one bed room separate living room . The balcony does overlook the station which was not ideal but we were there for two days and out a festival for majority of the day so for that reason just having a balcony in a city location was nice to sit in the sun and have a cuppa tea in the morn and my partner not having to get dressed to go down and have a cigarette was defo a bonus. It was perfectly located, town centre and Cologne Cathedral minutes away. I do think it was slightly overpriced but i was impressed with the room and the staff were brilliant so i would defo stay here again without hesitation. Think the biggest down fall would be the 10.30am check out which is very early considering its not the cheapest of accommodations. Could not get the wifi to connect but was not really a problem for me
