Hotel prices during the holidays are so overpriced but glad that I was able to book this hotel considering the location, within comfortable distance to Dotonbori and Shinsaibashi shopping street. The rooms are small as expected but clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. What I like most was the lounge area where you can have free coffee and tea. Guests are allowed to hang out and enjoy their take out food in the area. On the first few days of January, they provided guests with matcha tea and some Japenese sweets for free, which was appreciated. What I would say I didn’t like was their towels. A lot of their towels had some sort of stain, which would be visible if you closely check it against the light. My husband didn’t mind but I’m very particular about it. It’s the first time I encountered such thing in the several times I’ve been to Japan. Everything is almost always spotless. Anyway, overall it’s still a clean hotel and my issue on the towel may be minor to some. I would probably consider this hotel again when I visit Osaka considering the friendly price and depends also on my itinerary because it’s quite far from the main train stations.

Live in Osaka the way you want, with the castle just around the corner. Families, groups, and single travelers looking for a bit of space are bound to find a guest room they love once they see our wide selection of spaces. Many rooms are even equipped with their own separate kitchen rooms. Choose one of the rooms with a tatami mat area and relax at home, just like the Japanese do!
While the rooms may be old in apperance. The service and staff, were amazing. Easy location. Close walk to alot of amazing things to see. The staff were so friendly and accomdating and I will definetely stay again. Room was neat and tidy and very clean.

Yamatoya Honten is right near "Dotombri" the place that represents Osaka, also easy to go to Shinsaibashi (shopping area) and Den-Den-Town (electronics retailing area). It has Japanese style rooms and baths and there is the traditional Japanese atmosphere. We serve you the best price!
My wife and I had a lovely 5 nights here in January. The rooms are Japanese style which we like. The daily servicing was good. The rooms are fairly modest in size but well organised and comfortable. The front desk team were very helpful. The location is superb with lots and lots to do in the locality. The communal bath in the basement was great and kept spotless. We'd stay again.

Above average room (20sqm) for below $50/night. Hotel only have 1 elevator for entire building, but its enough because the rooms arent much. Great location, 5 min from shinsaibashi area, and JR Station. Even the hotel doesnt have any restaurant, but there are some restaurant/fast food/convenience store nearby

Stayed 1 night. Beds hard to sleep in as they are hard. Elevator slow as it stops at level 2 all the time. Service good. You get water. This is a bare bones hotel. Ended up staying next door at dormy. They have onsen and great service. Price very similar.

Firstly, checkin was completely disorganised- gave us a room which was occupied, then another room with maintenance still going. Took 30minutes sort it out. Staff speak limited English, had to communicate with google translate. Rooms are ok- but bathroom had dirty streaks on walls and towels had hair! Location is good- close to subway station and restaurants. I would look elsewhere given lots of other hotels in this area.

Kaneyoshi Ryokan is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Osaka. The best location to visit Dotombori downtown area on foot. It takes only a few minutes. A convenient location to visit Kyoto and Nara!
Lovely, clean ryokan. Plenty of room for balcony seating, futon and table area and private bath. Tea in room upon arrival. Great view of canal and Dotombori area. Coffee in vending machine outside room. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby.

We stayed in two different rooms. First one, deluxe room and second the executive suite. Both v clean and comfortable. Do note executive room is in another building from the main hotel with the front desk. It is made up of three storeys. So if u have difficulty climbing stairs and plenty of luggage, this might not be a suitable room. The main bedroom is on the second level and living area on the third. Toilet is on ground level. I'd much prefer the deluxe room though it is more suited if there are two of you. Can't fault the layout. Good use of limited space. Beds v comfortable though pillows are flat. Usb cable for phone is provided together with a smart phone you can take along with you when you go out. There is a coffee machine in the lobby where you can get your coffee fix anytime! Extra towels are provided just at the front desk if you need a change of towels anytime. The kuromon market is just nearby- plenty of food! Hotel is about a 10-minute walk to namba station. And before I forget, kudos to the staff- friendly and helpful! They will go out of their way to make your stay a pleasant one!
