Brown’s Hotel in Laugharne is one of the world’s iconic literary addresses due to its association with legendary Welsh poet and writer, Dylan Thomas. As well as the iconic bar it has 14 luxurious bedrooms, and the Penderyn Restaurant with a recently added additional vegan menu - which opened to rave reviews in July 2018. Browns Hotel, built in 1752, has always been the social hub of the township of Laugharne which Dylan described in 1934 as, ‘…the strangest town in Wales.’ As well as Dylan many other luminaries have walked up the three stone steps including Mick Jagger, Pierce Brosnan, Patti Smith, Sir Anthony Hopkins, Richard Burton, Elizabeth Taylor and President Carter. On its re-opening in 2012, Brown’s Hotel was given a 'cool factor' of 9/10 by The Times and has once attracted excellent reviews in publications like Tatler, the New York Times and the Telegraph. Browns Hotel is part of a family of companies that includes Penderyn Distillery.
We stopped by Browns after a weekend at the Hay literature festival. The room was beautiful. Modern and contemporary, but cosy. Dinner was exceptional. With an impressive offering of steaks we went for the rib eye and flat iron; both were beautifully cooked. And to top if off the service was exceptional. Rob went out of his way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Kind, knowledgeable and very welcoming. We're going back this weekend.

Steak night deal sounds great, 2 steaks, 2 drinks for £22, can't go wrong ! Well they can ! Nice steaks but very few chips and half a bag of peas. Had to ask the sullen barmaid for the onion rings which considering it was 2 small ones each wasn't worth the bother. A well, a free drink each you may say, only if you like Carling. Disgusting for a Brains pub. Cant recommend, shall not return !

The newly refurbished Castle Hotel in Llandovery has recently been reopened, by the small family run business, Taste Inn Wales owned and managed Sean Gerrard, Glyn and Jessica Bridgeman. The rooms, lovingly refurbished and their interior is honest, friendly and welcoming to all. Whether you are planning an outdoor activity break on the mountains, water, or in the air, our facilities are ideally suited to help you rest, recharge and recover. The bar and restaurant serve high quality local produce, cooked simply and beautifully.
Popped in for a meal and had reservations from the start due to the tired state of the place. But the reviews were pretty average on Google so ordered a lasagne and the gammon with chips cooked in beef dripping and crushed minted peas. The lasagne was burnt and inedible. The chips were overcooked in fat that was well past its best. The gammon although a passable steak was cooked in the same fat which gave it a sour taste and the peas seemed like they had been hanging about for a while and were dried out Would not recommend eating in this establishment .

Once the home of the Bank of the Black Ox, the Kings Head in Llandovery is a traditional coaching inn with a history that dates back to the 17th century.Nooks and crannies, crooked floors and exposed beams together with great food and refurbished bed and breakfast accommodation, make the Kings Head the perfect modern day coaching inn and the preferred choice of many; including tourists, commuters and even members of the Royal Household.Overlooking the cobbled market square, our location is simply superb. In the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park, you’ll find us just off the A40, half way between the Eastern borders of Wales and the ferry ports in the West. But it isn’t just our location that keeps regulars and visitors coming back for more. Mouth watering food, a selection of great ales and a true Welsh welcome all await you at the Kings Head in Llandovery.
We could not have wished for better hosts. It is such a welcoming hotel, and they even loved our Bassett Hound, Humphrey. Lovely clean and spacious room in a fabulous location. The bar and restaurant are is very comfortable with a lot of character, in fact the entire hotel offers much character and history. We are looking forward to our next visit ?

We are located in the wonderful, rural Carmarthenshire countryside just 10 minutes scenic drive from the historic market town of Carmarthen, the oldest town in Wales. We are centrally situated to access the many beautiful beaches of Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion, and all major tourist attractions in the area.
We were feeling fed up having a holiday cancelled at the last minute so decided to have a few days away and came across this B&B just by chance on the internet. We had a wonderful 4 night stay and everything was absolutely top notch. Room was warm, comfortable , excellent facilities ,lovely bathroom and shower ,would loved to have tried the beautiful deep free standing bath but being rather mature was worried I might not be able to get out so I decided to stick with the power shower. Lovely and peaceful surroundings ,you do need a car though it's quite remote but that's what we wanted and only a short drive into Carmarthen where there are plenty of places to eat. Breakfast was amazing so much choice I didn't bother with the full English, pancakes with apples, yoghurt and maple syrup were my favourite and I succumbed to those twice, the cilwen crumble another favourite with granola, seasonal fruits yoghurt and oats ,omelettes yes I tried them all absolutely delicious followed by homemade toasted bread and homemade jams. Adrian and Jeff were so nice and friendly nothing was too much trouble for them .loved the chickens and guinea fowl that serenaded us while we are our breakfast. We will definitely come back had a lovely few days and there was absolutely nothing not to like .

Choose from TWIN / DOUBLE / FAMILY or ADAPTED rooms, furnished to a high standard, all rates include free parking and WiFi. Located within the popular shopping area of Parc Pemberton - Trostre Retail Park, adjacent to the home of the Scarlets Rugby Team Parc Y Scarlets. We have BT sports in our Bar area and we will now be showing 52 Premier League games a season, all of the UEFA Champions and Europa League games, plus Premiership Rugby.
Stayed here from 1 night due to a house move, a clean and comfortable room for an extremely reasonable cost, I’ve paid more in similar hotels and have not been impressed, but the Sessile Oak is a worthy exception. We had a meal, which was extremely tasty, piping hot and a very friendly service from ALL the staff. What stood out for me was how quickly they removed used plates and cleaned down the tables, this is very rare these days where you see staff delivering food and walking past dirty tables, I could never see the sense in this practice as in the end they are walking further than they need.

A 16th-century converted farmhouse with many original features remaining including wooden beams, thick stone walls, wood burning stove, tiled floors. Eco bed and breakfast with excellent green credentials. The bed and breakfast is part of the old primary school which has been recently restored and renovated to include sustainable renewable technologies. We have five en-suite rooms, four doubles and one single. We have on-site free parking and free wi-fi throughout the building. Breakfast is sourced locally and cooked to order by an experienced chef. We are located in a rural area which is very quiet and peaceful. There are many local pubs and restaurants in the nearby villages. Many guests use us as a base to explore the breath taking scenery on our doorstep. We are approx. 20 minutes to the nearest beach and the local town of carmarthen, which is great for shopping is 12 miles away.
I was in the area for just one night on a work trip and unexpectedly needed a room for the night and was really pleased with this lovely B & B. I was a little nervous as I was travelling alone. I had the rather lovely garden room on the ground floor which was beautifully decorated, had an en-suite, was roomy with a very comfy bed - I slept like a log! I felt completely safe the room has french doors on to a patio garden area, which are veery strong and sturdy - very secure. The ensuite has a gorgeous large newly fitted shower cubicle, is well lit, light and airy. Breakfast was amazing and Jayne was so lovely and friendly, checking I was comfortable and happy with my stay. I would highly recommend this lovely quiet spot, and hope to stay there again.
