Brittany's dramatic 750-mile coastline traces a rugged hem against the chilly Atlantic. Attractions such as St-Malo's 1689 Fort National, the prehistoric ruins and striking beauty of Gavrinish Island and Brest's Oceanopolis aquarium cling to the rocky shoreline of France's most northwestern province. Nantes, Rennes and Brest are the largest cities. Rennes is just two hours from Paris by TGV. Breton and Gallo, the ancient languages of this Celtic province, are still spoken in pockets throughout the area.

Artefact a place on a human scale, a bit hybrid, between a hotel for the service and a guesthouse for its authenticity and friendliness. In this old building from 1814 with 4 bedrooms, we find this hybrid side in the decoration where antique furniture is associated with more contemporary touches to energize the whole. Mix and match of atmosphere, with more vintage rooms on the 1st floor and a more contemporary 2nd floor. Guests are bound to find something that suits them. A bistro room awaits you for the homemade breakfast. The living room invites you to relax with a collection of board games, a library, its fireplace and its old panoramic wallpaper over 200 years old. Finally, the stone courtyard and the garden are ideal for having a drink in any season. Ideally located 10 minutes from the confidential seaside resort of Pléneuf-Val-André and therefore from the Emerald Coast (Erquy, Sables d'Or, Cap Fréhel, etc.) and above all ideally positioned between to the west, the Côtes de Granit Rose and a little further east St Malo and Dinard. Set back inland: the unmissable medieval town of Dinan. In short, an ideal base camp!
We stayed there for two nights with friends - the rooms are super cool in there decorations and clean. Great breakfast and the owner is very accommodating and nice. Great back garden for sun-tanning or a game of badminton. Place for drinks and lounging as well.Close to great restaurants and beautiful strolls. Highly recommend this place to stay !!!

We stayed 4 nights in this comfortable house. The hosts are very friendly and although we don't speak French they did good efforts to provide us with good suggestions to visit the area. We have to add that there was some misscomunication with the external booking platform related to the number of kids (not their or our fault) but they did not extra charge us and quickly adapted the room. The place is well located to visit the area. Take into account that it's a house in the town, not in the field, so that the garden is a bit small. However, just in the nearby there are adapted ways for walking and biking through the trees and enjoy the nature. Breakfast is good with home made cakes, lots of different breads and real orange juice among others. Swimming pool was also available. The only point that I'd mention to improve is the low WiFi coverage in our room, but anyway we go there to disconnect!

Nice good size room with comfortable bed, 20 min walk from the city center. It had good soundproof from outside noises but inside the hotel the walls and floors were very thin so you could hear people walking and talking from adjacent rooms and from upstairs. Also every time someone flushed the toilet you could hear it like a waterfall. The staffs was friendly but they didn't speak english at all. It was overpiced for what it offers.

This bed and breakfast is a 5-minute walk from the port and has panoramic views of Mont-Saint-Michel Bay. It offers a garden, indoor and heated pool, terrace and free parking. Free Wi-Fi is available. Rooms at Metairie du Vauhariot are individually decorated and equiped with a TV and private bathroom. Some rooms have a chimney and all feature views of the sea.Guests are invited to explore Metairie du Vauhariot’s garden and relax on the terrace overlooking the bay.
We booked a night at the métairie the night before our ferry crossing from St Malo and were stunned to find out that breakfast could not be served until 9am , which was precisely the time when we were to be at the ferry terminal. No alternative arrangement was proposed - such as a cup of coffee, not instant as in the room, and some toast or croissant for say 8:15 - as « the baker does not deliver until shortly before 9. ». This was a shock and disappointment as the website just advises breakfast available… The site is indeed very pretty and the garden and sea views lovely, and the bedroom comfortable. Hot water takes a little while to reach the shower tap in the room under the eaves, and the toiletries are on the minimalist side. The Côté Mer restaurant is a short walk away (albeit on the road) which is a plus.

Ok, so the accommodation is standard 2 star (but with plentiful hot water, effective means of excluding light from the room and quite comfortable beds) but the restaurant is marvellous. Excellent fresh fruits de mers, attentive and friendly service, home made bread, a nice children’s offering and pleasant ambience. Would definitely stay again but eat something that showcased the chef’s obvious skills a bit more than fruits de mer which is all about ingredients.

We had a very nice stay while our kid was attending a sport event, the owners love what they do...don't miss the home made breakfast full of delicious items. Very nice quiet spot! And perfect location to visit Paimpol...and at a great rate! Don't hesitate.

The location couldn't be any better. It's in Lampaul, facing the sea. Quite basic rooms, but recently remodeled and super clean. No TV, but you don't go to Ouessant to watch it anyway. Good service, and a tasty breakfast.

I stayed here for a week on a geophysics trip, exploring the local geology. Meals every night were brilliant and very filling, but you can defiantly tell they like their pork! Every beer tasted was great. There is a beach 10mins walk down the road and a stunning view of the nights sky at night.

We recently spent just one night at Le 14 St Michel, and one night was not long enough. This beautiful town house exceeded our expectations. It is beautifully presented, warm and welcoming. The decor is classical understated with modern twists. Our bedroom/suite was large, comfortable and contained everything we needed for our stay. Our breakfast was a simple continental affair but everything was of high quality and fresh.
