Was the week before Easter and I thought as looking forward somewhere to eat in Ballybunion around 8.30 pm. A friend had told me to check out three places in a row on the shore front but the only one open on that Thursday evening was The Wilde. I was thirsty and hungry and this place is recommended if that is how you are feeling :) Good friendly service, a fine pint and a wonderful roast beef dinner - only minor disappointment was no horseradish sauce. Recommended!

We had a lovely stay with John and Deirdre. We were greeted by Deirdre who helped make dinner reservations John gave us some local knowledge. Very comfortable and clean room. Good breakfast that kept us going. Will book again when we’re back

I stayed in the Astor in May 2022. Mary was an excellent host. When I told her I was golfing she made sure to give me a quiet room. The room was perfect for me. I didn’t have breakfast as I had an early start so she gave me a discount.

We are delighted to announce the upgrading of our accommodation. Over the last 14 years we have learned a lot about our customers. To this end, during early 2018 we reconfigured the accommodation and now have 8 bright spacious modern rooms. There are 2 balcony rooms overlooking the beach and cliffs with stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean and, of course, amazing sunsets. All rooms have large high-pressure showers, 42 inch smart TV’s with over 300 channels to enhance your stay. Each room has a Super King size bed, Nespresso coffee maker, free WIFI, direct line telephones and USB charging sockets.
4 of us stayed in this great property on a recent golf trip. Street parking available right outside and the wonderful beach is only 100 yards from the front door. Accommodation was modern and spotlessly clean. The bar was cosy, the restaurant and menu was first class. The friendly efficient staff was the cherry on the cake. We will be back ??

I stayed here for one night with three friends on a golfing trip. We were warmly welcomed by Doreen to her beautiful home. The rooms were spotless and beautifully furnished. The beds were very comfortable. We later met David who entertained us with lots of stories. As we had an early start time for golf they facilitated us with an early breakfast which was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful house and definitely hope to return again when playing the spectacular Ballybunion golf course.

Stayed here as family were getting together for an anniversary. Beautiful olde world hotel, fine big warm rooms. Very welcoming atmosphere when we arrived. Nice friendly bar, restaurant was busy, menu looked lovely. We were having dinner elsewhere.

The 19th Lodge is a Golfers’ Paradise. This Luxurious 4 Star boutique-style guest house enjoys an enviable location directly opposite Ballybunion Links and is home to one of the great names in golf, Mr. Tom Watson, when in town. Guaranteed tee times at Ballybunion for residents. Jacuzzi tubs and power-assisted showers to a dedicated computer for guests' needs with wireless access throughout. Residents' lounge + wine bar + golf.
Eight of us arrived at the 19th Lodge after a twice delayed golf trip and could not have been made more welcome by our hosts, Mary and James. They run a fantastic guesthouse with super rooms, a great breakfast and the proximity to Ballybunion is 10/10. It also works as a base for other courses in north Kerry. If you’re looking for a genuine Irish experience, avoid the big hotels and come here. I could not recommend it enough. It was actually emotional bidding Mary and James farewell.
