The historical center of Baku reveals its tumultuous past, from its roots as a Silk Road port city, through its oil boom to its Soviet period. The old city is a maze of alleys, mosques, historic buildings and remnants of fortification, including the Palace of the Shirvanshahs and the Maiden Tower, now listed among UNESCO's World Heritage Sites. Much more than a historic site, the city hosts vibrant arts and cultural activities, as well as a bustling modern business sector.

The hotel is ok in general, but the service was confusing. I believe it is mostly due to poor communication in English. The checkin was just about making copies of our passports. No information was shared about breakfast, wifi, payment methods, and nothing at all. I was tired of driving all the way from Sheki and just wanted to go to the room, take a shower and sleep. Once in the room, we realized there was only 1 set of towels. I was with my wife and baby. I asked for at least one additional towel and, out of the blue, got an upgrade to a room downstairs. It was very nice, but once in the new room, again only 1 set of towels. I mean, my problem was not the room, it was the lack of towels. By that time, even more tired, I used the bathrobe as a towel and left the only towel available to my wife and baby. The following morning we went to the reception and asked where we should go for breakfast. After a bit of struggling to understand it, we were informed that we should've ordered it the previous day since the breakfast is served in the room at the agreed time. How were we supposed to know it? It's ok not speaking English, but what would cost a Boutique Hotel to print a page with all basic info in English and hand over it to guests upon check-in? All in all, I believe all Boutique hotels in AZ got the boutique concept wrong. In summary, the location is great, bed and general installations are comfortable, amenities are not "boutique" and communication need to urgently improve.

I was in hotel maajid with my family and friends for 4 nights. The hotel newly built and very clean. The location is in old city and very good because of proximity to all old attractions. The breakfast had diversity and there was more than 10 types on the table to eat. We reserved 2 connected room and one double for 10 persons and that was cost value. The most important thing was kindly and polite personnel and young hotel owner that were wery helpful and tried to make our trip memorizable as possible. I want to give them my best regards and thanks for all of they done at the time of our stay in hotel. Reza habibisaravi sary, Iran

Located inside the walls of the old city, the hotel is modest, but comfortable. Bed and bath were excellent. The hotel lacks a restaurant, breakfast room, and gym, but makes uo for that in price (quite reasonable), charm, and attentiveness of staff. We would stay here on future visits to Baku.

worst hotel that I visited. too many reasons: 1.) they said breafast at 8 once we come to restaurant by 8 till 820 the restaurant still close. 2.) there is no airconditioning they only have heater so we dont have any choice just to open the balcony door which mosquitos start coming in to bite us. we have lack of sleep on this. 3.) we are on the fifth floor there are always a noise coming from 6th floor. We complain many times nothing happen. note: the supervisor talk to us and she said she will fix the ac but we stay for 7 days nothing is fixed! dont ever book this hotel is a total waste of money!!!

We stayed here based on the reviews but it didn’t stand up. There was no hot water on some mornings and the breakfast is poor. The curtains are also useless for keeping out the light so bring an eye mask or you’ll be awake at 6am. On the plus side, staff were very helpful and it was clean
