This Place was absolutely astounding. Espescially as we just came from Nice from a regular big four star hotel. Everything we missed there, we found at this little place not far from the center of Alba. The size of the rooms, the quality of the breakfast, the immediate help of Mauro in things to do, to see and he also made restaurant reservations as we arrived and even helped our electric car with some juicy kilowatts.

This was such a treat. We went in mid October for the Festa del Tartufo Bianco in Alba. The B&B is surrounded by Lange hills full of vinyards, and they make their own wine! The owner is a very friendly lady, and she responds well to kindness and a good laugh. She was kind enough to recommend a cost-effective restaurant for our first evening there, and for our lunch on Saturday. We were able to save a LOT of money because of her help, Alba is NOT a cheap place to eat if you want good quality. If I could say anything bad about the room, which for our needs it was perfectly fine (and I said this on Booking.com), the cleaning lady doesn't go around for spiderwebs it seems. Our room was full of longleg spiders, one of which landed on my husband's face while he was sleeping! There wasn't a TV, but we wouldn't have watched it anyway.

Just five kilometers from Alba, up a winding, scenic road flanked by vine-covered hillsides, a foodies paradise awaits: Locanda del Pilone, where one can stop for lunch or dinner at the Michelin-starred restaurant and stay for the night, in traditionally furnished rooms with modern comforts such as wi-fi connection.Surrounded by 360-degree views of rolling foothills and in the distance, the Italian Alps, Locanda del Pilone is an ideal destination for food and wine lovers in search of world-class hospitality and an authentic Piedmontese experience rolled into one.
This hotel was one of our absolute favourites during our trip in Piedmont. Close to Alba, a lovely town flooded with good food and fine wine. Locanda del Pilone is a small, charming and perfect location on a hill top surrounded by stunning valleys and rolling vineyards. There is a 360 degree views of the surrounding. The rooms were large and comfortable with good bathrooms and nice view. The outdoor swimming pool with the view, the comfortable outdoor furniture and good wine could absolutely made it possible to spend a full day here. But we had to go for visits to the nearby villages of Barolo, Serralunga, Barbaresco and Alba.

This is a small hotel, no idea about how many Stars, but it was lovely. Excellent service. Large rooms, modern. We were in Room 2. Unusual in Europe to have such large rooms. See pictures. Modern large bathroom. Secure car park. Basic Italian breakfast. Free Wifi which worked. Good customer service. A 10 minute walk to centre of town, and less to the train station. Very reasonably priced for what we got. We were there for the International Truffle festival, and bookings in advance essential. Recommended.

We were visiting Alba for a brief wine-and-truffles vacation. We would definitely recommend Angolo Divino. The location is very convenient - walking distance to restaurants, historical sites, shopping... the establishment is charming and the hosts tremendously friendly, helpful, and gracious, welcoming us with wine, chocolates, maps, limoncello on the veranda... helpful tips, recommendations, and help in getting a car. We took a cab to and from the train station because of our luggage. (Note: taxis don’t really seem to be a thing in Alba; we waited a long time at the station for one. They don’t run meters and the drivers seem to make up the charges, but we didn’t feel overcharged.). We would go back there for sure and will recommend the place to everyone. In-room wifi was a bit sketchy, but we could always find wi-fi. Breakfasts weren’t on site, but consisted of a voucher for two very nearby locations, and the rooms had fridges and stocked coffee/tea makers.

We stayed for 5 nights to explore the town and the Barolo area generally , so Alba is perfect. Casa Bona is in the street which skirts the old town, so just 5 minutes into the old town. (across from the Ferrero factory to the smell of chocolate is intoxicating) Perfect. Now we don’t travel light and he said straight away, the room is small. We booked a double but it’s a very small double although not much different to other hotels. He saw our disappointment and moved us to a suite that was free for 3 days! What a gentleman! There is free parking directly outside, again perfect. Free homemade cake too, from mother every day , Spotlessly clean, and massimo is a super efficient host, lovely chap. Highly recommended

Lucrezia is doing a great job at La Casa dei Masue, only 10mn from city center of Alba and 10mn from Grinzane Cavour castle ! Beautiful house and garden surrounded by Hazelnut trees and vineries, super large accommodation, we had sort of a studio with separate bedroom and living room with TV, books, nice decor, all nicely comfortable and very well maintained with convertible sofa ( and a mini bar fridge with bottled water !), super super clean bathroom, large and bright with very hot water and nice amenities ( fresh towels, nice scented soap and shower gel), with profusion of pamphlets, infos, maps about the region of Alba. Lucrezia was very helpful prior to arrival giving recommendations about Alba and Barrolo region, we communicated with Emails or Whatsapp ( Wifi very efficient in La Casa Dei Masue). Lucrezia is a lively, smiley, adorable host, her laughter throughout the House gives a very warm atmosphere, she is empathetic and reads your mind, she will adapt to your needs and deliver great service. She is also a great cook and there is always a nice and yummy smell of homemade pastries, cakes, biscuits that she bakes for the breakfast in the morning. By the way, the breakfast was amazing, all homemade little toasted ham and cheese sandwiches, everyday a different sets of coldcuts and cheeses, freshly brewed coffee, nice homemade orange juice and selection of pastries. She got us right and was very nice all the way. During the 3 days we stayed by Lucrezia's she understood our routine and adapted to our schedule, so in the morning she was joining us for a coffee on the terrace ( coffee was always served with a little home made biscuit or typical italian Dolce speciality) and we discussed about life, connecting and chating about our countries and experiences. Super nice. A true discovery, what a region the Langhes and friendliness of people there ! Will return for sure.
