We stayed for three nights at the beginning of December. We flew in Sapporo and then it was a couple hour drive to the property. I think Zaborin is a great choice on the food alone, but the Ryokan itself is very peaceful with beautiful surrounding views in the winter. Breakfast and dinner are provided, we couldn’t have eaten much more than that. You wear robes and slippers on the property. One thing that was very special was doing a robata dinner on the third night. They have a separate room for it and they set you up but you get to grill for yourself. Breakfast and dinner are both traditional Japanese kaseki style. We loved it, but you should know what you’re coming for and if you don’t want fish and pickled vegetables with miso, etc for breakfast, this wouldn’t be the right place to stay. Staff was attentive and helpful. They were also accommodating of our 7 year old and newborn. We appreciated that, because it is a quiet setting and I’m sure they have concerns with first time children. I hope we have the opportunity to return.

We stayed at the hotel for 5 nights with our two children. The hotel is located very nicely within the forest next to a river and is stylishly designed. The Japanese breakfast and kaiseki-type dinner was amazing - every dish was great, creative and tasted fabulous! The staff was really helpful, friendly and professional and did everything to make our stay as good as possible. We visited the hotel with our two small children and the staff did a great job to accommodate us - for example, they prepared the favorite Japanese food for our daughter and served it in the room so that we could bring the children to bed before going to the restaurant to get dinner ourselves. Afterwards, they even called the room to check if she liked it and if they can improve anything for the next night. Overall excellent service, even by high Japanese standards. We can fully recommend to stay at this great hotel.

Very strong cigarette smell at the floor we stayed. We're OK with public bath since it's quite common in Japan, but there is no toilet in your room which you'll need to go out of your room to use the shared toilet. It's not convenient for us since my boy got to wake me up at the middle of the night to go toilet with him. There're many hotels to choose from in the area. I won't come back to this one again.

Embraced by the forest of Niseko, a modern Japanese style that harmonizes Japanese relaxation with Western playfulness. You can enjoy a time where all five senses are comfortably healed, such as the beautiful nature of the four seasons, a local production for local consumption dinner, and a free-flowing hot spring.
Was in Niseko for the first time for a ski trip and decided to stay at Kanro due to decent reviews on Agoda. However we were not impressed by the service as none of the hotel staff could speak fluent English. Only a couple of them could manage simple English while the rest didn’t understand at all. They do have a few staff from China so good thing we spoke Chinese. Hotel guests are mainly Chinese tourists and local Japanese people, which explains why none of the staff spoke good English. Breakfast buffet was good but dinner buffet was quite a disappointment with very few choices and mostly cold dishes. It is located 10mins drive away from Annapuri ski resort and 30mins drive away from Hirafu welcome centre. There is free shuttle bus service. We didn’t mind the distance since the hotel is very close to Moiwa ski resort (3mins by driving) where we spent most of our time at. Ski rental at hotel is cheap but equipment is dated. I even found a used plaster in a pair of gloves I rented. Do not recommend renting your equipment from the hotel at all. And although there is a ski centre at the hotel next to the rental shop, none of the staff could speak English so we had to book our ski lesson through the Chinese staff at front desk. Rooms are spacious and clean however not so sound proof. During our stay we could hear our next door neighbors talking and their baby crying. Did not use the hotel onsen but I heard it is good and famous for making your skin beautiful. Lastly we really enjoyed the view at the hotel restaurant. Amazing winter view of the woods and hill which made our stay worthwhile.

It is too expensive for what it offers. Amazing, traditional, outdoor hot spring (the best feature of the hotel), wifi was okay, and free parking it is available in front of the hotel. Good location near annupuri ski resort. Big hotel, not so quite, with large groups visiting the hot spring. Bad small in the common areas, room quality could be better (old hotel)

We booked the Japanese style room with a fantastic view of Lake Toya. Room size is big (for Japanese standard). It even has a sitting area for you to enjoy the view of the lake. The amenities is a bit outdated but all in good working condition. Within walking distance to the Mt. Uzu Memorial Park. You are also able to see the night fireworks from our window. The onsite onsen has indoor and outdoor. We tried that it was was good.

All the Japanese rooms are lake side. (Western style is mountain side) Buffet style dinner and breakfast.(All you can eat crab and scallops) You can see fireworks from your room on the lake side.(4/28~10/31)
The view from the hotel is pretty good and the price is much better compared to the other more famous hotel next to it. Food and service is ok but don’t expect to be served as if you are eating at Nijo market. One plus point is that the hotel was not crowded and the onsen was pretty much a private one. The outdoor onsen is quite nice too.

Inside Onsen not much, but the outside Onsen is relaxing, surrounded by boulders and snow atop them. Water is hot and leaves you feeling soft, no sulfur smell. 1000 yen for Onsen, 200 yen for towel rental (bring your own), locker 100 yen.

We stayed at at the Mori Cottage and was absolutely amazing. The kitchen was well equipped and the windows were just huge! The trash separation in Japan is very strict so that might be difficult for some people but that was totally fine! I would highly recommend staying here if you have a car, since it's a little off from the ski resort. But because it's a little off from the main area, it's more quiet and peaceful. They even have a shuttle bus to the ski resort so it shouldn't really be a problem. The closest convince store is about 10 minute walk from the cottages. I wish I could've stayed here longer. This place wasn't enough for one night. There's a washing machine, big oven and a fridge. For cooking lovers, it was heaven! The staff are very kind. Thanks so much!

We stayed here for a few nights in February 2020, just before COVID19 cancelled everyone's travel plans. The rooms & facilities were warm, comfortable & inviting. The breakfast provided each morning was great, so many options & it was changed up a bit each day. We loved how close it was to the ski field & restaurants, everything within walking distance. However, the real stand out of our stay here was Kumiko & her staff. They were so kind & helpful when our friend injured himself skiing & had to cut his trip short. From offering a lift & help with their travel to providing them with a care package of snacks for their journey home. Even with the language barrier you could tell all Kumiko wanted to do was help as much as she could. New White Bear is nothing fancy, but it's clean & tidy, & you have everything you could need within walking distance. Everyone there will make you feel welcome & like you're right at home. Highly recommended staying here, just don't injure yourself skiing, but if you do Kumiko & her team are there to help.
