Pupukea Beach Park

This location is great for children to swim.

Reviewed By 896ricn

Pupukea tide pools to the left, Shark's Cove to the right. Pools are not deep, mostly walkable - but bring water shoes. Shallow, and barefoot can hurt. Can be hard to maneuver in Snorkel gear. Saw the prettiest little Snowflake eel here, about 18 inches, lots of endemic fish. Really a great spot for kids and little ones. Shark's Cove is to the right of the restrooms. Better depth here and therefore better to Snorkel, or dive. Fish were incredibly abundant: some massive schools of 500 (or so), Green Sea Turtles, eel, and a nice array of Parrot Fish. Visibility to about 60 feet. Visited Thanksgiving week and were told to select a day with little to no surf, as it can make swimming difficult, reduce visibility and possibility cause injury. Picked the right day apparently as it was absolutely fantastic... One of the best I've experienced in the Islands. Notes: go early to get a decent parking spot. The small lot fills up early, by 10am or so. Across the street are several eateries, and a market just next door.

Banzai Pipeline

Reviewed By psudino - Weehawken, United States

We drove past the southern end and stopped at the Northern end of the pipeline at Sunset Beach. The entire length of the pipeline is residential and the beach looks untouched. On the day we visited it was rainy so the waves were actually smaller because the wind was blowing the out, according to our tour driver. Either way, the beach was untouched and beautiful.

Mokuleia Beach Park

If you like pounding surf, and less people, this is the place to go. Miles of beach and very few people on it. The surf pounds the shore and it is very peaceful to sit and stare at the ocean.

Sharks Cove

Reviewed By June_HTK19

My family went to several places during our stay in Oahu for snorkeling and our favorite spot is definitely Shark’s Cove! Deeper and more interesting undersea terrain to explore than Hanauma Bay, lots lots of fish and some corals, and we also saw a turtle! We prefer early morning snorkeling and when we arrived from Waikiki at around 8am, there were only a few cars in the parking lot, way less crowded than Hanauma Bay. As others suggested, wear marine shoes, be careful when you enter the rocks, do not step on or touch the reef and you should be fine!

Laniakea Beach

Reviewed By debregehr

We drove to this beach to see turtles that usually arrive around 11 am. The first time we went it was very cool temperatures and rain - there were two people watching for the turtles but told us most likely they would not come to shore due to the tempertures. We returned the next day and were not disappointed. Laniakea Beach has a small parking area which has you crossing a very busy road I would highly recommend going early and being patient if you want to see turtles.

Ehukai Beach Park

Reviewed By Kawikamf - Honolulu, United States

Since "tripadvisor.com" states that Ehukai Beach Park is in Pupukea,Oahu,HI, then to find Ehukai Beach Park, most Tourists would ask a local the question: "Where is Pupukea" with the hope of narrowing down the location. BUT, do not ask a local: "Where is Pupukea?" Why? A local would probably send you up to the residential village area of Pupukea, which is NOT close to Ehukai Beach Park. Instead, a visitor should ask either: "Where is Sunset Beach Elementary School?" or "Where is Banzai Pipeline?". On the makai or ocean side of Kam Hwy, you will find Ehukai Beach Park. During the surf season (winter) do not swim, unless you ask the lifeguard,as to where it is safe to swim.

Turtle Bay Beach

Reviewed By AnneFrenchie - Sydney, Australia

Beautiful spot to admire mother nature & her turtles... we had a swim in the warm clean and clear water and had a chance to see the turtles landing on the beach to sunbath. One NEEDS to stay 3metres away from those marine creatures to let them enjoy their beach.
