Hired a beach hut, Number 13 - The Beach Lounge. Located on a quiet piece of the beach with a beautiful sea view. East Beach is spacious with clean toilets and a large car park that are just a few minutes walk from the long sandy beach (and the beach hut.) I'm typing this whilst sitting on the beach hut terrace, ice cream in my other hand whilst the kiddies hunt for crabs in the rock pool that is opposite, sun is shining, its absolute bliss!! The beach hut is well equipped, fresh coffee / paddle boards / crab nets/ buckets and spades and a few board games too. Fresh air and family time, this is just what we all needed. We'll be back.

A long promenade to stroll along by the sea and then a lovely walk along the pier (free entry). We really enjoyed this stroll.

Been going to Walton on Naze since I was a child, lovely sandy beaches, not all the beaches covered when there is a full tide. Fortunately I know all the best parts to go to including free parking and which part of the beach to go to. When sun is out it is just beautiful. It is very clean. Yates fish and chip shop is fabulous at all times. Great cafes along all beaches, toilets available. At the Naze end, 2 great cafes you can eat and drink and look over the cliffs, amazing views and very peaceful too.

Great place for kids. This place has a clean, spacious and welcoming environment. We have been many times to this location and find it good compared to the other ones in the area. This place has a nice cafe too. Will be back often!

This is a great beach with plenty of parking, cafes and public toilets. Can be quite busy, but is huge, as Mersea is an island, so just walk up the beach a bit and you can always find a private spot. Gets the sun all afternoon till sunset, which is a nice little bonus

Well worth the five mile round trip from Southend, you could say Tides is a destination cafe! We had the chai lattes and two toasties and munched away watching everyone - and their dogs- taking a stroll. The food was lovely and service excellent! See you again soon!

on a hot day in southend with all the "unsafe" hustle and bustle - it is so much nicer to travel on a bit further to thorpe bay ---, past the yacht club , on the right hand side is a reasonably priced "grass" car park with public toilets, a small general shop and close access to the beach -- take a pic-nic and have a cheap day out.

Spent a wonderful morning on the beach with my children and friends, there is a large carpark, steps and also a ramp down to the beach for wheelchairs and pushchairs, a large toilet block is in the carpark and it is very well kept, in the ladies they have baby changing and a disabled toilet, there is also an outside tap for cleaning feet etc after the beach. Uncle Tom's cabin is a lovely little place that sells tea/coffee, soft drinks, ice cream, ice lollies, expensive Mr Whippy cones, slush drinks, sausage rolls, hotdogs, nachos etc, as well as buckets, spades, beach shoes and balls. There is a seating area inside and outside. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely return.
