Whitby is a seaside town, port and civil parish in the Borough of Scarborough and English county of North Yorkshire. It is located within the historic boundaries of the North Riding of Yorkshire. Situated on the east coast of Yorkshire at the mouth of the River Esk, Whitby has an established maritime, mineral and tourist heritage. Its East Cliff is home to the ruins of Whitby Abbey, where Cædmon, the earliest recognised English poet, lived. The fishing port developed during the Middle Ages, supporting important herring and whaling fleets, and was (along with the nearby fishing village of Staithes) where Captain Cook learned seamanship.

A quirky little pub serving real ales and a wide selection of gins and tonics. Friendly and helpful staff. Whenever we're in Whitby we love to call for a drink and girls always remember us. Only a few tables downstairs but upstairs you'll find a few more seats. Small, cosy and welcoming. We Love it.

We stayed in Whitby on August Bank Holiday weekend I had booked the Station Inn in advance months earlier as I knew it would be busy, It is in a perfect location next to the harbour. On arrival we were taken to our room which we were more than pleased with, firstly it had a lovely smell which was great and it had modern decor, the bed and pillows were really comfy and the bathroom had a large walk in shower and and was bright and clean, we had a DAB radio which was a nice extra that we used and a Dyson fan which was good to use too, and a tv on the wall, we were really pleased to see that we had a kettle with Yorkshire tea and a coffee pod machine with selection of pods to use, the staff in the bar were friendly and helpful, overall we loved the room and had a great stay at the Station Inn we would recommend and we will stay there again.

We popped in a few times for drinks and the selection is vast. They have smoky bacon flavour vodka and smoking shots which were very tasty!! All reasonably priced too. The entertainment which was a quiz and lyric bingo was fun and the compere kept the pace going. The bar staff were friendly and served fast. A great pub with a fab atmosphere.

Whitby's first Micropub with an atmosphere that goes back to a time when people talked to each other for entertainment. We offer an ever changing range of beers, ciders and fine wines in an environment with no TV's or background music. Our customers visit us to enjoy each others company in bright attractive surroundings. We are located at Whitby station and have excellent views of the Abbey and the steam trains. Recently voted Cleveland CAMRA Cider pub of the year 2017 and CAMRA Pub of the season for Spring 2017.
Called in at The Waiting Room several times whilst on a weekend break to Whitby. Had the warmest of welcomes from the landlady and her partner. Excellent selection or craft beers and ciders of which we readily sampled whilst waisting a few hours chatting to locals and participating in the fine parcetime of people watching! Had a great time and thoroughly recommend when visiting this wonderfull town. Thanks again, Roger and Vicky Cambridgeshire

Micropub in Whitby selling 4 rotating real ales, 6+ real ciders, craft beer including 3 beers/lager on draught plus 50 bottled and canned beers, 50 Yorkshire gins and spirits & a selection of wine. Plus Tea, coffee and homemade cake. Friendly, welcoming atmosphere, no music or TV's. Dog friendly. Accompanied children welcome until 9pm.
Visited this place recently while on a trip to Whitby and found it to be a bit of a hidden gem. There a lots of nice pubs around the town but this one was very committed to good beer and had an excellent range of gins. It's not so traditional, with large windows in the front, but manages to maintain a cosy feeling with nice interiors, friendly staff and a dog that came up to say hello. I tried a couple of the beers, they have 3 keg and 4 hand pumped, as well as a bunch in cans and bottles. This isn't a carling and fosters type place. Local breweries, doing things properly. Atmosphere is good too, the town was generally very friendly and the layout of the pub certainly helped. Screens and sanitisers provided for COVID.
