Visited here 'mad friday' with husband atmosphere was fab, service was great as always from this venue. Customers chatty and enjoying the after work drinks was really good mix of ages/groups. Must thank the fantastic layla who rescued me when me top needed a quick repair, she then went on to mending another customers belt! Not the service everywhere in wakefield offers! Altogether great bar and the best staff

Superb little bar with good atmosphere. Serves probably the best beer in Wakefield (along with the Black Rock). Always a good selection of real ales. Once in this cosy pub it's difficult to drag yourself away. No tv, music etc..., great place for a few beers and a chat.

Traditional pub in the centre of Wakefield serving excellent beer (particularly the Oakham Citra). We call in once every 4 weeks or so when our weekly walk takes us there. Warm welcome from Sean and good selection of beers. First visited here in the early 1970's when it was the top pub in Wakefield and Sean has returned it to its former glories.
