Bar and Restaurant with a Guesthouse (coming soon), with 4 bedrooms. Camping and swimming pool. Hiking trials, river raft, bird watching.
My Boyfriend, Brad and I need a short break away from the constant bustling of the City and took a turn to the Old Imperial Inn - Now known as VENTERSKROON INN, for the weekend. What a beautiful nest tucked away on a long, and exceptionally bumpy dirt road. As one enters one is welcomed and greeted warmly - the 2 owners: Leon and Piere, are caring and considerate hosts who know almost all the names of the people that enter. I felt immediately at ease and relaxed with my first breath of the entertainment area. Our room was small but quaint and had all the necessities. Our view of the pool and the darling ponies were an absolute joy. We eased into our weekend with pleasure... the drinks were ice cold, the food made with love and the scenery tranquil... Our stresses diminished. If you are looking for a break away that just a short drive outside of JNB, this is the place to go. 20 kms outside of Parys (the Antique lovers haven) and surrounded by rolling hills and greenery... you will be satisfied :) :)

The Brewers Co-op and Common Room bar consists of 14 brave and hop hardened brewers and 2 creative gurus who are involved in the social structure of the co-operative as well as the designed space of the bar. We have a wide and forever changing selection of small batch craft beer and cider, all brewed onsite by our members - which makes for a diverse selection of approximately 16 different beers

At Alchemy, we celebrate craft booze. We are inspired by tradition and moved by innovation. We proudly stock many craft drinks produced in South Africa, with a strong focus on gin, of course. You don’t need to be a 'gintellectual' to enjoy this complex spirit - you can try one of our house combos, gin-based cocktails, tasting boards, or check out the gin selection at the bar and speak to our team for suggestions and inspiration.
We started the night off with a warm and friendly introduction to a whirlwind of Gin’s by a highly experienced Paolo. His attention to detail made this an awesome experience. The prawn bowl is honestly the best seafood I have had in Durban. The atmosphere of the restaurant just made the night incredible. I will come back here any and every time.

Alexander Bar, Cafe & Theatre is Cape Town's buzzing conversation bar. It's filled with old-world charm and innovative touches like old fashioned phones which you can use to order a drink or to chat up people at other tables. Upstairs there's a 40 seater theatre which is Cape Town's busiest stage with more than 10 performances per week - check the website and get discounted ticket prices if you book online. The kitchen serves great light meals til midnight and keep an eye out for fabulous daily specials.
My wife found these reasonable priced tickets for a pre Valentine celebration play. It was a very casual evening. It was not well attended but we really had a good time. Will recommend for a budget evening of good value entertainment

Wild about Whisky offers tutored tastings in whiskies and all other premium spirits, and have assembled 45 cleverly arranged tasting themes to guide you through the wealth of products. The bar has over 1200 whiskies on offer from 20 countries, including Scotland, Ireland, USA, Japan, Taiwan, India, Tasmania and South Africa. It also includes a large variety of gins, rums, brandies, cognacs, quality wines, beers and great coffee.
This place is great. They have so many options and they offer great ideas depending what you are looking for. The prices are also reasonable - much better than Joburg. And there are chocolates that are delish as a bonus.

Welcome to Noordhoek Farm Village. Home to a country pub, Franck Dangereux's culinary skills, the Cape's best bakery, a boutique hotel, a wide range of shops, services and more. We love, food, kids, sport, art and life! Noordhoek Farm Village is situated 30 minutes from Cape Town’s city centre in the tranquil farm atmosphere of Noordhoek. Dine with us, stay with us, play with us.
Escape the hustle and bustle of city life, by taking a drive out to Noordhoek village. The coffee shops, quaint restaurants, ice cream shops, kids play areas, and the general life that makes up Noordhoek living will enchant you. Locals come for a coffee on horseback, or barefoot, or with a pack of dogs and all spill into the street as they chat away. Such a great variety of food and best of all the beach is a few km's away.

A friend told us to visit the hotel and the leopard bar to come and watch the sunset and wow was he right. The outside terrace is the place to watch a daily treat of the sun going down. Truly amazing. The bar itself is brilliant, loads of staff catering for your alcoholic needs. Very friendly despite the posh surrounding and as the RAND is cheap the the mighty pound it’s very reasonable too. Definitely recommend a visit, we also had tea at the grill room (see separate review) again very good and well priced.
