The festive city of San Juan is the perfect place to experience true Puerto Rican culture. Get to know its roots by exploring the vibrant neighborhood of El Viejo San Juan (Old San Juan), which consists mostly of Spanish colonial buildings. Flesh out your self-guided history lesson with a visit to El Castillo San Felipe del Morro, a 16th century citadel that’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then reward yourself with a cooling dip at Luquillo or Carolina Beach, then a tasty tour of the Bacardi rum plant.

This Bohemian dive in San Juan is a popular bar and club, and it must be seen to be appreciated.
Tasting authentic pina colada was on our "to try in PR" and we went by the rule: stay away from touristy places, choose an authentic dive bar and ask for the toughest looking bartender to mix you a pina colada from scratch... didn't even imagine that making pina colada takes a mixologist and an alchemist in one... Vinny is the best... he took his time, tested every batch and I must say - you have not tried a pina colada until you tried pina colada in this place... The BEST doesn't even describe it well

This buffet-style restaurant can serve you and up to 499 of your closest friends.
It's old and rough around the edges....Perfect, it's the oldest bar in town they say. And it's a Bar Lovers Bar - warm- friendly-laid back-easy going like your favorite old sweater. Bartender was laid back with lots of stories about the bar and San Juan. Drinks were great, beer cold, conversation with other patrons was entertaining. What more could you ask for, Old & Rough fits a lot better than modern & chik.
