Congratulations to Hannah and her team. We visited on the first day the kitchen re-opened and enjoyed a first class lunch and such a warm reception from everybody. Reasonably priced, fresh cooked food, excellent local ales and comfortable surroundings. It was a little chilly with the front door open but only a minor point. Thank you. Jon, Kerry, Kate and Paul.

We have our own local pub at home and we as 2 couple came away on an English trip away from home. This pub was our local pub away from home. We felt so welcome. The beer was perfect. No eggy beer!,,,, which is what you get from some places. But this beer was amazing.toilets were the best. They had deodorant, smellies, hair spray and dry shampoo!!! Honestly everyone so so nice and welcoming. Dogs are welcome. Sky tv. No pool table though. Smoking area is proper good!

The Boat is fabulous for a drink in a real pub atmosphere. I've eaten many times, and is great when you're hungry (generous portions). Great live music means that you can dance it off when you've had too much

Stanley's is a friendly, traditional micro-pub with a strong focus on quality real ales and ciders. We also stock a wide range of gins and other spirits, wines and soft drinks. Lovely friendly pub with great beer, excellent food, especially the home made specials. Dog friendly inside and out, beer garden, great team in a traditional centuries old listed pub.

Popped in here when we first arrived in Matlock on Sunday afternoon and enjoyed a leisurely drink Returned later for pre-dinner drink still same great atmosphere and vibe Josh behind the bar is chatty and very friendly
