Amazingly friendly and cheery staff... very accommodating for vegan adults and children.... such a lovely meal and a fab sense of appreciation all round. Could not fault the hospitality shown. Thank you!

Have visited before for lunch and was not disappointed when we returned last Wednesday. The pub is always busy which is a good sign and the food excellent with big portions. The staff are always friendly and efficient and it is excellent value for money. A main course with vegetables for £10.95 is really good. We will return!

Lewes Con Club is a mainly volunteer-run, not-for-profit social club and live entertainment venue, open every day to all. Situated in the centre of the beautiful historic town of Lewes, county town of East Sussex, with easy access to and from the city of Brighton and Hove and with a direct rail link to London, Lewes Con Club consists of a large bar area opening up to a function room with a professional music stage. Beyond the bar is a spacious garden and barbeque area. It is by far and away the best live entertainment venue for miles around. Come and see for yourself.
The Con Club in Lewes is a really interesting place. It's a community-run social club, but both members and non-members can use it. The beer is excellent (especially the local Harveys Best Bitter), the staff are super-friendly and for the summer there's a spacious, pretty garden out the back. But the real feature of the club is that it's one of the best music and entertainment venues for miles around, including Brighton - it has acts on several times a week, many free entry. The other night I went to see Geno Washington and the Ram Jam Band - the actual Geno Washington I saw as a student in Brighton back in 1967. He's still performing and to be honest is just as good as he ever was - beaming out masses of energy - absolutely magnificent! And thanks to the nature of the Con Club, I had the opportunity of speaking with him in the bar for over half an hour before he played - made my decade. It's that kind of place - I can't recommend it more highly.

I have visited this pub many times but felt compelled to write about it this time as I live in Lewes and this boozer is legendary. It's tiny though and positioned right in the heart of Lewes and you get a feel for the true spirit of this historic town. Such a huge range of cider and ales on offer and a must see place if you are ever visiting Lewes. As mentioned earlier, this isn't the largest pub in the world so space is premium but the atmosphere is always jovial and you'll enjoy the ambiance if a proper authentic boozer is what you are seeker

First trip to The Plough, our local, since the new tiers have been in place. The restrictions feel a little odd, given how low the number of Covid cases are in this very rural part of East Sussex, but The Plough has embraced the new guidelines fully. Friendly welcome from the staff, some exceptionally well-kept Harvey’s and great, good value food over what felt like a busy and buzzy Saturday lunchtime. Well worth a visit over the festive season.

I attended a gin tasting session with a group of friends last weekend; fantastic selection of gins, very knowledgable staff, tasty pizza and a relaxed and warm atmosphere. Looking forward to booking the ‘sussex gins’ session next! Great value for money. Always loved this pub; Alec was awesome but the new staff are too! Anyone that has visited this pub in the past will particularly appreciate the much needed toilet refurbishment!!!
