Edinburgh's best rated Comedy Club. #1 in Edinburgh for Bars & Clubs and Concerts & Shows on TripAdvisor. 5 Edinburgh Comedy Awards nominees since 2017. 3 time Scottish Comedy Award winner. Open 7 nights a week. See monkeybarrelcomedy.com for more details.
Went to an open mic night on a Monday night with low expectations really & we didn’t stop laughing! Service at the bar was great, all the acts were funny and the host (think her name was Amy Matthews) smashed it, although we both said we would’ve liked to have seen more of her. All in all was a great night and I would highly recommend!

The home of witchcraft & wizardry. Take on the Dark Lord in our spellbinding escape rooms, brew up a potions cocktail in our Magic Potions Tavern. Cloaks and wands provided!
Great fun! Definitely one of the best (if not the best) escape rooms in town. Coming from someone who has experienced a decent amount of rooms before and a Harry Potter fan this one combines the thrill of doing an escape room with the feeling that you are part of a magical world, without sacrificing one for the other! Will be heading back to do the second room quite soon. Special shout out to Perim, our amazing and super enthusiastic grave keeper and GM!!

Open every night ‘til the wee small hours and providing quality live music for the city, Whistle Binkies is an Edinburgh institution. Housed deep in the vaults under South Bridge both locals and visitors congregate to sample the finest Scotland has to offer, from bands to beers! With an extensive drinks list and an eclectic line up there is something for everyone. We are now over 30 years old and to celebrate it is now free entry every night, with 4 live bands to keep your ears happy through the week. Friday’s and Saturday’s feature up to 6 acts!
Brilliant bar, fantastic music, make sure and go to the Monday night open mic night we were there last night great atmosphere. Chris the sound guy and other musicians were amazing. Very encouraging to all the acts. Will definitely be back.

Checked this place out as we were familiar with the beers back home and thought it would be good to see where it all started from. The beer and pizza did not let us down. You can literally see the pizza being prepared fresh for each and every order in the kitchen. They serve food late which is perfect if you are like us and were on our way to a late show during the fringe, and needed to grab something quick. the beer matching was also a nice touch. I've got to say that the staff were probably some of the friendliest I came across while visiting Edinburgh.

Had the pleasure of seeing wildwood kin play at this atmospheric venue. Just of the royal mile and easy to find. Great place for seeing a band. Decent stocked bar, prices are a bit ouch, but to be expected i suppose for location.

Stramash is a lively live music bar and late night diner open until 3am every night. Showcasing the best bands from across Scotland and all around the world. Located in the heart of Edinburgh's Old Town in a converted church with a capacity of 900. Stramash also boasts the largest HD Screen in Scotland showing all top sports fixtures.
When visiting Edinburgh we always make a bee line for Stramash, this is a great live music venue and always has a decent band playing regardless of which day you visit, I've always found the door staff pleasent and welcoming even though some times you have to queue to get in.

We by chance stumbled upon this quaint little pub on a backstreet only to find one of the most lively and fun bars on a monday night with both the football and a pub quiz! You couldn't ask for better staff and prices are great for students. It deserves a spot on your bucket list!
