Top 10 Bars & Clubs in Covent Garden, England

September 9, 2021 Toi Mattera

The crown jewels, Buckingham Palace, Camden Market…in London, history collides with art, fashion, food, and good British ale. A perfect day is different for everyone: culture aficionados shouldn't miss the Tate Modern and the Royal Opera House. If you love fashion, Oxford Street has shopping galore. For foodies, cream tea at Harrod’s or crispy fish from a proper chippy offers classic London flavor. Music and book buffs will love seeing Abbey Road and the Sherlock Holmes Museum (at 221B Baker Street, of course).

Phoenix Arts Club

Having been entertained online by the team at the Phoenix we were keen to visit again as soon as they reopened. We were not disappointed, the audience was smaller due to social distancing and the shows started earlier. However the atmosphere was very much the same and the compare that night Dusty Limits very professionally and naughtily eased us into a great evening of entertainment. Saw Seyance for the first time and she would have got a standing ovation if it were not for covid rules preventing yelling and screaming. Very happy to visit here any time we are in london always great fun and i cant wait until things get back to 'normal' .

CellarDoor

Once the West End's most salubrious cottage, supposedly the haunt of Wilde, Orton, Gielgud & Crisp, CellarDoor is now London's cult cabaret bar, secreted beneath the Aldwych in a space just big enough for cats (both feline and human) to swing. We're open until 1AM seven nights a week with free acts from 9PM each evening including drag queens, femme fatales, magicians, crooners, burlesque beauties & more.

Our favourite bar in London. Quirky and bijou - underground in a converted ex-Gents toilets. Nightly entertainment (usu burlesque, cabaret, drag queens). Lots of interesting cocktails. Best loos in London - don't forget to put the light on.... (!) We saw Topsie Redfern (drag queen) - really good, and as it's defined as a music venue, there was an extension to the 10pm curfew.....

The Top Secret Comedy Club is the best I've been to in London, and I'm a real comedy lover. The comedians have always been 5*, hilarious and you'd pay good money to see them in a live show. The interaction with the audience is always a good amount, and consistently funny. These are the things that keep you coming back again and again. The manager Mark was also extremely helpful in sorting out a last minute issue I encountered - great customer service turns a good night into a great night. I would recommend anyone and everyone to come and enjoy an affordable and very funny night at the Top Secret Comedy Club.
