This place was recommended by a friend, ordered kebabs filet, came quick and was a big portion. They give plenty of salad which was fresh and tasted well seasoned, the chips were also well seasoned and cooked to perfection.Plenty of parking available at this place and its a big establishment. Would defo recommend this place

Went there on our first day in Madeira to try the typical skewer which was a recommendation and was really good! This is a typical restaurante with good prices and also really good food, homemade and very tasty. Had their traditional bread (âcacoâ bread with garlic butter), beef skewer for two, couple of beers and juices, coffee to finish and paid less than 45â¬. We also tried the âponchaâ as an appetiser but was way too strong, weâve tried better ones during ao trip to Madeira. But everything else amazing, even the staff, helpful and really friendly. Highly recommended restaurant.

Always reserve an evening for a meal here. Never disappointed, but tonightâs was the best yet, even without the addition of the local folk dancing troupe. Went for the traditional espetada on laurel branches. Sides: chips, maize, tomato & onion salad, grilled pineapple, savoury rice & sweet potatoes and molasses. Decent bottle of Vinho Verde. One Super Bock. Meal for â¬80. Superb.â¤ï¸

Located high up on a hillside with great views across the sea to Funchal. Restaurant is clearly used mainly by the local population rather than just tourists.Excellent quality and good value fillet steak kebabsFriendly service. The only issue we had is that when it went dark their lights are very bright which as well as affecting the atmosphere also loses the views over the bay as the main thing that you see in the window is your own reflection. Also had a large TV on (with sound off) which again damages the restaurant atmosphere

Visited O Polar 3 years ago on our last visit to Madeira. Lovely atmosphere and everything freshly cooked to order. You know it must be good because itâs full of âlocalsâ. You need to arrive early as you are unable to book, and will need to wait for a table. Restaurant opens from 6:00pm every day. Beef paid for by weight.

Brasil Brasa Restaurant is a Brazilian Steakhouse, located on the seafront... in Lugar de Baixo, Ponta do Sol. Our specialty is RODIZIO, with several grilled specialtie, as PICANHA, served directly from a skewer at the table. We offer you our rich buffet-
We didn't know ponta del sol, so we just popped in without great expectations. We were very much positively surprised - great food (different kinds of grilled meat brazilian style and buffet with sides), great vibes, great prices and really nice staff (brazilian family). We can recommend!

That known spot hast kept all its positive attributes alive for food and service. Concentrating on something you do very good is the spirit here. Order your beef skewer salad chips - and leave happy and satisfied. There must be a reason for locals queuing up to get seated ?!

A very local place, full of Madeirians eating there with their families on weekends. We were there after the big wave of locals . The food is fresh, tasty, the chicken and the steaks are nicely prepared. It is organized in a strange way. In one place you order and pay for the meat, in a second one you order and pay for side orders and drinks and in a third place you get your food and eat. Not all the staff speak English but they are very nice and I recommend to have a meal there.
