This is the pizza you write home about. Perfect in every way. Makes even the best Napoli style pizza back home in Toronto disappointing. We had the margherita and the cappriciosa (with some lovely anchovies). Amazing. The place has no table service and seems to be a combination grocery and pizzeria. You order at the check out counter on the way in and give them your name. When the pizzas are ready they call your name...as pronounced in the local dialect, so listen carefully!!! Also just grab drinks from the cooler on the left...when you're done, pay at the check out counter. It was slightly confusing but the effort was completely worth it.

This is (among other things) a great spot to take a lunch break when driving the A1. It's easy to reach, the food is excellent and it's cheap. We had good pastas (inc. vongole, as it was on the weekend) and tagliati.

Family run restaurant from two generations, Santorotto offers freshely cooked traditional Tuscan food and a selected wine list to compliment the food. Specialising in 'Fiorentina' (big cut steak from the local breed of particularly big cows, called Chiani
The owner cooks himself. The antipasti platter, turkey and beef accompanied by vegetables was the best italien food we ever had. Ask for the vino rosso della casa. The charming waitress is the owners wife. We had a great evening for reasonable prices.

The Osteria ACQUACHETA, open for over 25 years, has retained the characteristics of the old Tuscan taverns. The kitchen, sharing tables, one glass for water and wine, and not least an authentic welcome and true, typically Tuscan, make it a local flavor ..
After all the hype about the "FLORENTINE STEAK" and even Rick Steves recommendation of this restaurant our table including the couple we shared the table with thought the steak was tough. This restaurant is more about show than giving the customer what they want. First of all there are only 2 seatings. You wait outside with the crowd of hungry people until they open the doors and funnel you in and you are given a menu, etc. Nothing different than any other restaurant. If you want the steak they come to your table with a slab of beef, the owner scribbles on the weight and price of your meat on your placemat, then scurries off to cook it. Remember...you cannot choose how you want it done and it pretty much comes out rare. Not that I minded it and we both ate the steak, but we can cook a better steak at home. The meat was tough and rare. For the money....I recommend going to another restaurant to eat this steak, or eating something other than the steak. But know you wont because while in Italy your mind will tell you you that you have to do the Florentine steak dinner, but I suggest you go somewhere else.

We have been coming to a Villa near CF for 4-5 years now, and we always make a b mark for this restaurant, and always insist that friends come too.The steak cannot be beaten, although the fillets I must admit ate better than the dinosaur slabs that they bring out.Sit outside away from the fire, the Tuscan starter is great followed by a steak.Waiters are amazing and are so helpful, especially the head waiter, so friendly!Book a table, don't have lunch and then go for it - an amazing place! They are consistently good.

My wife and I ate lunch two days in a row at this excellent restaurant. Seasonal dishes with porcini mushrooms, chinghiale and truffles. Umbrian torte served with the meals is a special treat.

I was very eager to take my friends to Bruno's as well as not having been back myself for a few years. Located on a central street of Citta' della Pieve, it offers a lovely decor and ambiance (upstairs and downstairs dining rooms), very very good service and excellent Umbrian and Tuscan dishes. The service is excellent and staff very nice and helpful. The locale was completely restructured a few years ago with great taste and also keeping the original frescos on the ceilings in the upper rooms of what was originally a medieval house.

We really enjoyed the food and wine on our first night in Pienza. Will we be able to better it? I doubt it. We had cheese on toast to start but so nice with truffle or walnuts with it. Then followed by the pica ragu or boar pasta. All great
