The best grilled meats, salami and artisan cheeses, Slow Food presidia and traditional Umbrian dishes.
We came to stay at Foligno after hearing that we could experience true local cuisine here, and it was more than we anticipated. Quite modern as well as traditional in taste and cooking, hands on in front of us for all the food cooking including pizza. The pasta was especially delightful. Friendly intelligent staff who are all members of one family for generations at this store. Clean and spacious, down to earth, high end interior. Love to return to eat here anytime.

The food was great and originally presented. The owner wasn't super friendly but the servers were kind and helpful. I would go back.

Un ristorante storico elegante ma sportivo che permette servizi di alta qualità in un'ambientazione di pregio, mantendendo un rapporto con i Nostri amici, professionalmente confidenziale.
Five of us had dinner here, and it was a nice experience. The restaurant is in an historic building. Spacing between tables is wide making for good conversation and low noise level. Our group split as to the entrees, with several people ordering the pappardelle with wild boar ragu, and others going with the roasted suckling pig. Both were good, but the pig was the favorite with moist meat and crispy skin.We were split again for desserts with some ordering the nougat semi-freddo, and others the dark chocolate brownie. Again, we shared and agreed all were very good and probably the best part of the dinner. The house wines were good and a great value. At the end of the night we agreed that it was a good dinner, but not the five star experience the reviews had us hoping for.

Have eaten here a few times always excellent food....but definitely not for vegetarians! They have a fixed menu so bring out various delicious starters then follow by lots of different meats from the grill....together with carafes of wine all included in the price...only 20 euros. Don't miss it!

We have been in Umbria several times and found this fine restaurant in Foligno thanks to a friend. It is a family business driven by passion and customer centricity. The food is delicious. The meat is grilled by the grandfather on the open grill while you are watching. His son is the maître d'hotel and presents a very interesting wine card with all the fameus local wines. The granddaughter is waiting the tables and speaks a fluent English. We could nor resist to go back having a second culinair top experience!

As residents of Foligno for some years now, we find that most of the restaurants offer many of the same local Umbrian dishes. Service is almost always top-notch and, well, the food in Umbrian restaurants is usually simple, high quality and presented in uncomplicated ways. One is rarely disappointed. Then there's La Lanterna Dei Trinci. We had a wonderful dinner last night and not only was the food excellent (sliced beef, pork with basalmic vinegar and other tasty things), the small dining room and jovial customers (who were singing to old 60's Italian classics) made us happy. I felt as if we entered the set of an Italian film and we were acting in the story!!!!! The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant!!!!!
