Located on the busy A31 near Corfe Mullen, you could be forgiven for driving by thinking The Coventry Arms is just another local pub. However this 15th Century Inn, has so much more to offer. Inside there is a lovely bar offering local real ales, and a gr
We used to go here regularly a few years ago but then after a change of ownership it deteriorated.NOW HAS BEEN TAKEN OVER by an independent owner. We visited at lunch time, the decor and furnishings are clean and comfortable and the garden pretty even though the weather was awful. Inside the old world charm is still there and the cracking open fire welcomes you. We ordered food from the âlow and slowâ menu and it was fabulous. Biggest ribs I have ever had outside of the USA tender and a great BBQ sauce. Hubby had the brisket and it melted in the mouth. I really wanted to try the desserts but was far to full so will have to go back again very soon. Really hope this lovely old pub gets the support it needs so we donât lose it. By the way they serve breakfast and coffeeâs too and all at sensible prices.

The Three Legged Cross in Verwood is a country pub & restaurant oozing rural charm and rustic character. Our picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub-food on our menu, and the carefully nurtured cask ale
This pub/restaurant offers a good selection of âpub-food-plusâ, a good atmosphere and very good, friendly service. We had dinner with friends tonight and visited here for the third or fourth time. Starting with a draught real ale and a couple of glasses of wine, we moved inside to the restaurant. The fellas ordered the same - the pate platter for starters and a 8oz sirloin for main courses. The ladies had prawn cocktail and the mushrooms for starters and the lasagne main course. We had to send back the prawns because they were not cooked and they were quickly replacedBoth steaks were cooked just right and the ladies were happy with their lasagnes. Including a bottle of house red and the drinks before dinner we paid £165. Not a bad price for a good evening together. Thank you for taking the time to review your visit we are pleased that you enjoyed it. I would just like to comment that the prawns on the prawn cocktail actually come in cooked they are peeled and cooked prawns. Hope you will visit again soon.Kind Regards

Lovely country pub situated at the end of the village lovely sechluded beer garden freshly cooked food and wide selection of drinks ciders, lagers and 3 real ales
We were disappointed with our experience at the Red Lion. Our friend had booked a table because she had enjoyed very good food on recent visits. However we did not share her opinion. Everything was very rushed. The food was O.K. - we all had the coconut prawn skewers which were quite tasty but stuck to the wooden sticks as if with super glue, the pork belly was fine, as was the chicken curry but the waitress just wanted to see the back of us! She came for the order before our friend (who had been held up) had even had time to look at the menu and tried to take our plates away before we had finished. Same with the coffee. Unfortunate as we had hoped that the change of ownership since our last visit would add another fairly local pub to the list of those we enjoy going to occasionally. Sadly not the case.Hello anncolly many thanks for your review im very disappointed to read that you felt unwelcome and rushed by your waitress as this is certainly not the case at all we pride ourselves on making our guests welcome and the service they receive should always be first class i will certainly be looking in to your comments as this is not what we want our guests to experience as you mention the prawn skewers are actually cooked on the skewer so they can stick to the skewer so appologise with regards to that i am however pleased to see that you enjoyed your main meals though but i share your disappoint with regards to your service and can assure you it will certainly be looked in to if i can be of any more assistance then please do get in contact with me and i will certainly try and rectify this as we do not want any of our guests to ever feel un welcome or rushed many thanks again for your time and review

A group of friends met at Pamphill and walked to the Green Man for lunch. The roast was very good value and for an extra pound you could have a pudding too!The roast beef was very nice and my friends said the chicken was equally as nice. The staff were exceptionally pleasant and polite. Thank you. Many thanks for your comments and we are glad to hear that you enjoyed your Sunday roast with us.

Went for lunch as its not the area we usually visit, I used to go there years ago so hoped it was as good....well it was better, plenty of choice and friendly service. The only downside was the loud party on a nearby table who arrived after we sat so couldn't move !! Will go again maybe for the Sunday car very.

The Old Inn is a traditional country pub in the heart of the idyllic village of Holt. Situated close to the historic town of Wimborne Minster, The Old Inn is the perfect destination when you fancy a homemade, traditional pub meal.
Pleasant family meal for 7 and the staff very accommodating ( 4 lots extra toast for the very nice pate).Wife had very nicely prepared proper pie.Dogs were made welcome. As a fellow pub owner Iâd probably suggest dropping the adding of the automatic service charge, other reviewers donât seem to like it and itâs one of those that niggles us Brits when we visit the USA! Otherwise all good, thanks for letting us stay in our Motorhome.Thank you for your comments and we are glad you had a great experience at the Old Inn. Service charge is always controversial and we have been trialling for six months. The service charge is fully discretionary so guests are not made to pay it. Many guests like the option as it makes it easier for them. It is 100% distributed to the staff which we find makes them feel appreciated, work harder and more attentive. It also helps to retain staff. The guests who don't like it or feel they have had bad service should not pay it. As a fellow pub owner, I would recommend adding a discretionary service charge to your menus for parties of 4-6 or more.

Called in here for dinner one early evening as it looked so lovely from the outside with the gorgeous thatched roof. We were welcomed by a really friendly guy who had excellent customer service skills. We both had the steak and ale pie which was a big portion and came with chips, veg and gravy. It was delicious and absolutely packed with good quality steak, didn't have a bad piece between us! I found the deserts to be quite expensive and sadly disappointing, next time I would just stick to the main course. The pub has a dog friendly section and the other lady who was working so hard was also so courteous and polite, between her and the other friendly guy who came to check on us they were really working tirelessly to seat everyone, take orders, serve up the drinks and take the money, all with a smile and skip in their step! When we left, the pub was absolutely packed full and they said every table had been taken so we were lucky to get in when we did without booking :-)

Modern British food including fresh fish, meat & seasonal game. Wide variety of vegetarian options.Monthly changing menus.Cracking ales, wines & ciders.
Slightly strange Sunday lunch menu. I opted for the hake which was on specials menu without prawns and it came with new potatoes plus salad. My mum had the same but with prawns her salad had some tough leaves in it. My dad asked for the steak burger without the bun but got the bun anyway, the burger was dry but the chips were lovely. I didn't have a pudding but mum had the panna cotta which looked very pretty and dad just had a lemon sorbet. Friendly service. Not sure I would return

British Pub with craft beers, local and European home cooked food!Large car park, garden, sheltered smoking area, child friendly!
The positives are the friendly staff and the dining area. The pub is fairly small but cosy with good decor and seating. The is a reasonable selection of choice and a daily special. We had lunch of pork schnitzel and burger which where all reasonably well cooked. The chips however were obviously not home made which I queried and was told "we are not a restaurant we don't have time to make our own chips" !!! If you like McCain chips you will be fine.
