This place has been here forever and probably will be here in the next life! Down Home, I'd say! Rather dark amongst the knights in armour theme which makes you wonder what happened to the 21st century! This was Tuesday night, warm Sept. evening, and very few tables left. Many folks were there at 5 pm when we arrived, and that's without an early bird special! So something must be going right here. I had a very good Reuben, and my friend a good hamburger. Lots of beers, wines and cocktails on the menu. Prices have gone up, up. But the relaxed atmosphere and good waitress might bring us back again! Lots of older folks as well as families.

We were invited to a party at Emmettâs in Wheaton. The restaurant, itself, is warm and inviting. We were seated in the terrace area. We had the room to ourselves. This was nice! The rooms are filled with brass and wood. The service was impeccable! Our waitress was intentive without being intrusive. The food was the star! We enjoyed hamburgers to salads to sandwiches to appetizers. Everything was served fresh, at the right temperature and appealing! We will definitely return!

A buddy and I were at a wake in Wheaton and wanted a beer and bite to eat and just saw this place as we were driving back home and stopped in. We were really impressed with: our server- SARA - what a gem. Friendly, professional, & competent!. The food was great, huge menu- we just had grilled chicken/ chic fingers and post roast. Just really nice to have a great meal in a fun atmosphere.

I occasionally meet a client at Brick House for a couple of drinks and a short meeting. There are tables along the back wall which offer privacy. The drinks are reasonable, we have yet had anything to eat from the Brink House. It's basically an up scale sports bar.

The craft beer selection is pretty good, they have various specials during the week that keep things interesting, and it's a lively hangout for locals including many families, it's family friendly but has a nice 'adults only' bar area also.. The outdoor seating overlooks Front Street across from the old train station, and it's a busy scene especially on Friday evenings. The food is plentiful and good, very acceptable standard 'gastro-pub' menu well done and not expensive. We enjoyed it, and will return.

Forget 'casual dining.' That's an industry term so out of touch with how consumers eat and drink today. For premium quality and style; fare that's at times familiar and other times adventurous and a laid-back modern setting, Houlihan's is a true original.
I recall eating at Houlihans in the city years ago. Yesterday we were in the Wheaton area and saw a Houlihans restaurant and decided to stop. The interior decor rang a bell but it had been so long, I canât honestly tell you what my recollection of their food was from 30 years ago. The current experience was not that great. We had 2 salads which I must admit were above average. My wifeâs zucchini pesto salad, she states, was exceptional. The entrees were of scallops and risotto and butter squash lasagna were very disappointing. The only highlight of the visit was the factoid we learned and that was where the origin of the name Houlihans came from.

If you are looking for a decent burger or a specialty burger this is the place for you. Burgers range from shrimp to black bean and other combinations. Service is "spotty", especially if you are a twosome. Seating is a problem(tables of 8) aand wait times can be long.Prices ar fair for a 1/2# hamberger, but on the steep side.

A bunch of ikebana (Japanese flower arranging) ladies came because one of our members had a coupon for $10 off $50. We all tried something different. Several of us had salads we were really happy with. One had a ham and swiss sandwich. One lady had a quiche, Only the fish tacos were a disappointment. The view was nice but will be even better in summer when we have a conference in the area. They had a lunch box raffle contest going on. We will be back in June and maybe a few times before.
