We have always been great fans of K.Lamay's fabulous steamed cheeseburgers so when owner Kevin Lamay opened Double Play Cafe closer to our home we had to go. We are a retired couple and frequently eat lunch out and Double Play has become one of our favorite spots. I love a good salad and believe or not a great one can be had here. I love the Country Roads salad which has thin apple slices, cranberries and plenty of blue cheese crumbles atop very crisp, fresh mixed greens. You can have the salad as is, or order it topped with a protein such as chicken or....the fabulous steamed cheeseburger! The salad is large and with a great selection of beers one can have a great meal. The rest of the menu is fairly typical sports bar fare but the quality of the food is much better than one would expect. You might actually come for the food!

Part of public golf course
Went for dinner on the patio which we've done countless times. Patio overlooks the golf course which is beautiful. For many years, on a Saturday evening, patio was full, usually a guitar/keyboard player. Nice experience. Well, we went about a month ago and it seems it has new management. Menu was limited, no one was there. It was very strange. Had dinner (burgers). Very good as always. Looked on line and noticed that their menu expanded back to what it used to be. Went last Saturday. Very disappointed. Again, very sparse crowd. No entertainment and the service was just do so. I guess they are concentrating on their banquet service (which is very good by the way). Sadly, we won't be rushing to go back. Food is good, but the atmosphere is now nonexistent.

Wings and burgers. They are noted for the wings ????? Not this night . Very disappointed. Jerk chicken seemed to be a burnt sweet spicy sauce. Not close to what I have had in the Caribbean. Also had the garlic pepper sauce which seemed to be added after the fact when the wings were already on the serving plate. Sauce was on half the wings on the plate. But the burger was way way better. Good service

This Connecticut guy had never been to Archie Moore's (any location) till now. The atmosphere was informal, energetic, comfortable. The service was truly outstanding. The nachos with puller pork were a cut above what one often gets. And the wings...well, yes! They were amazing! We had the BBQ (great sauce), the General Tso's (perfect) and the Buffalo (delicious). Looking forward to visiting the other locations next!

Ordered takeout thru UberDash. Unfortunately Gaetanos messed up. The order ticket was correct, what was packed was not. Ordered a chicken salad wrap but received a buffalo chicken wrap. Too spicy, wasnât edible. Fish and chips was blah. Pot roast dinner was okay but could have used more gravy.

Always a good sandwich. My wife wanted their old Asian salad . It was not on the menu anymore but our waitress made one up for her. How is that for service. Wow what a great waitress. Sorry forgot her name but she once went to culinary school.

The food that I had was nothing to write home about I felt like all of the seafood was overcooked and somewhat dry. It wasn't horrible but I wouldn't trade it highly. What a fun experience. Small dining area and somewhat cramped but the experience is worth it. Prices are excellent and the food is grest and plentyful. Hamburgers are 9oz but seem bigger. The rolls are super and whoever praised the rolls? The french fries are big, crisp, hot and abundant. The chicken on waffles was a favorite for my daughter and my grand daughter was wowed by the Hawian burger from the specialty menu. The chicken wings were big and meaty and the various sauces are amazing. It's very popular and you may have to wait for seating but it is worth the wait. The wait staff is very good. You do have to wait for your meal if you get burgers because of the size it takes time, butagain it's well worth the wait. Enjoy.

Recently had dinner here on a Saturday evening. The restaurant is a cozy spot close to the old train station. We ordered different items on the menu but came away feeling that the dishes were overly spicy. The chicken and the short rib dishes had too much pepper for our palates. We truly enjoyed the brussell sprout appetizer...it was absolutely perfect! It was very noisy and dimly lighted. We're very sorry to hear that we didn't exceed your expectations when you visited us. Your feedback is important as we work hard to ensure our customers have an outstanding experience every time they visit us. We're very glad you enjoyed our brussels sprouts (a crowd favorite!) - - give us another try and we'll suggest some other tasty alternatives. Thanks again for taking the time to share your feedback and we hope to see you back again when you are in the area.

Lunch in the library was great! The old building is beautiful and the library touches like: the beer tap handles were covered in old book jackets and the bill comes inside a hollowed out book, were perfect! For lunch we had a thinly sliced steak sandwich and a BLT, both came with delicious side salads! Will try it again for Happy Hour and or dinner!
