Cobalt

A dinner menu straight from the Atlantic is the hallmark of our Vero Beach restaurant. The Cobalt menu is filled with a variety of mouthwatering delights.

I've reviewed Cobalt here on Trip Advisor once before and give it 5 stars. Therefore I was expecting the same kind of excellence when I brought my wife here for her birthday. The view of the ocean was just as beautiful, Jonathan, our server, was excellent, but the food was nothing like the delicious meals we've experience here in the past.My wife ordered the steak special at $60 and we were told it was an excellent cut of meat. We expected a nice medium-rare steak. What she got was 5 or 6 slices of steak with fat and grizzel running right through it. On top of the steak slices were two skinny stalks of broccoli. She couldn't even eat the steak. She gave me a piece and I had to agree. It was horrible. A $60 steak at our local steak restaurant would have been thick and perfectly cooked. This looked like a $20 platter thrown together in a hurry. I would never had expected this at a good restaurant. We inquired about the chef, thinking that he might be new, but were told he's been there for the last year and a half. Then I tried my dinner - the Snapper. Unfortunately, it was even worse. The fish was totally overcooked and dry. The brussel sprouts were undercooked, and the potatoes were nearly raw. I was bouncing my fork off of them without making a dent. We don't like returning entrees; after all, we were there for a good dinner experience. However, both of these dinners were not worth suffering through. The restaurant manager, Alicia, came over and apologized, and asked if we'd like to order something else. We declined the offer. We were comped both dinners. We didn't asked to be comped but it was nice of her to do that. They also apologized again as we were leaving. I just don't understand how a restaurant/chef, who is capable of turning out a decent meal, would ever have been satisfied with what he allowed to be carried to our table. It was an embarrassment. We had intended to bring guests to Cobalt this weekend, but we'll not be going back. I don't like to go to a restaurant that I'm afraid is a hit-or-miss experience. I should not have to feel that way at a restaurant like Cobalt.I'll add that I did get a call from Mr. Kis, the General Manager of the restaurants and bars, who apologized and gave me his phone number, and promised a better experience if we would return. That was very nice of him, but a "better experience" should be a matter of course at a restaurant like cobalt and these prices.Good Afternoon! Thank you for reaching out and sharing your feedback. We apologize that we were not able to meet your expectations and that our food fell short of your expectations on this visit. We look forward to hopefully seeing you in the future and glad that we got to connect!

Had a rehearsal dinner for my son and his bride at Southern Social. We had 65 adults and 8 children. All I can say is this place is incredible. Service was impeccable, food was delicious, atmosphere was eccentric and welcoming and everyone enjoyed themselves. Our guest had a choice of fish, pork or chicken served with roasted sweet Brussel sprouts and macaroni and cheese. Meals started out with cornbread, salad and chicken wing appetizers. All raved about their dinners. The owner and staff couldn’t do enough for us and really made us feel welcome. The S’more brownie dessert was a fantastic way to finish the meal. I highly recommend this place for your next event, or just to have dinner with your family and friends.

Waldos is not a fancy place at all. Shorts and casual clothing is totally appropriate. The atmosphere is kind of kickback. Wine is served in plastic cups, but the food is decent and the wait staff are very friendly. This is not the type of place to go for an anniversary dinner or to pop the question, but it is a nice place to go to just to enjoy life. Sometimes they have live music too if that is your thing.

Casual and fun seafood restaurant. Full bar, great margaritas, happy hour daily 4pm - 6pm. Local and new england seafood. Clam chowder, conch fritters, fish tacos, fish and chips. Terrific burgers. Outdoor seating in the courtyard.

We have been to the Fishshack several times and have noticed the food prices going up and the quainty of food deminishing. The service is terrible starting with the hostess, WARNING: they are now taking reservations and will make you wait while they have 5 tables open. We had a 30 minute wait and when we finally where seated the table next to us was empty and remained empty until we almost finished our meal , they could have seated someone there and still have time for the reservation. BOTTOM LINE : WE DID NOT HAVE AN ENJOYABLE EXPERIENCE AND FELT UNWELCOME AND THAT WE WERE INCONVENIENCING THE STAFF. FOOD WAS NOT WORTH THE HASSLE......
