Disappointing meal in this restaurant/ pub today. We had a sharing platter costing £14 and paid extra for duck wraps. They did not have the pepperoni pizza so had chicken skewers instead. Small portions, not very hot, salad leaves were wilted.Desserts were better but they are probably bought in.Dirty dishes were not collected from the table, even when the desserts were served.Other tables were dirty, full of dirty crockery and glasses.Staff were okay but not over friendly even though it was quiet. Not somewhere we will visit again.Hi Bowler10033. Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your experience with us. I am disappointed to hear it was a negative one and if you would like to talk about this further, please do not hesitate to contact me on [email protected].

Food comes out looking really great. Some issues regarding cooking - chicken of chicken burger over-cooked, coleslaw a bit heavy on the raw onion, sweet potato fries not crispy, on my fish dish the potato cake was soggy. Service ok and prices average. Portion size good.Thank you for your review Stephen. I'm sorry to hear you were disappointed on your recent visit. If you ever have any problems with your food please mention them to us at the time so we can look to improve the situation for you. We hope to see you back again soon to see this is not our usual practice.

Rock Garden only opened a few years ago but has established itself as the place to be. This is due in part to our delicious food of either freshly made pizzas cooked in Torquays only wood burning stone oven or our legendary burgers & juicy steaks. However

We do have busy and quiet spells like any establishment so it does sound like it may have been a quieter period upon your visit. We do believe our other reviews on here highlight that our food is something we endeavor to excel at and take great pride. A great Pub that does excellent value and quality 'Pub Food' with its own twist. Winner of St. Austell Brewery 'Cask Ale pub of the year 2012'. Recommended in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide 2014.
A warm welcome, great service and absolutely delicious food! We had garlic bread to start with and both chose roast pork for main. This was served with stuffing, crunchy crackling, meaty gravy, roast potatoes, carrots, parsnips, delicious cabbage and buttery swede. Although full, I just couldnât stop eating it!! My son also managed a warm chocolate brownie with ice cream for pudding. This place never disappoints! Thanks for the glowing review. Glad you enjoyed your meals and it's always a pleasure to see you both here!

Having frequented a restaurant and bar on this site on many previous occasions I was eager to try out this latest business and so booked sunday lunch. The place is beautifully clean and tidy including the toilets, the staff I found to be all very polite, friendly and courteous not to mention efficient. They even went as far as to reserve us a parking space as initially we were bringing an elderly lady who unfortunately became unwell and couldn't attend so I opted to park up the road. The food was plentiful and well presented but sadly some of it was overcooked. The roast potatoes were rather too crunchy, the nut roast was actually burnt and covered with sauce to try and soften it up.I had chicken and found the mix of what looked like slices of chicken breast and a chicken thigh quite odd and I'd had rather seen just a fillet chicken breast which would have left no leftovers such as skin and bone on the plate,Also the vegetables provided were odd in number so in our case we only had one small parsnip between us, plenty of carrots and other things though. We both chose strawberry cheescake for dessert and sadly this was a bit disappointing as it appeared to be a bought-in frozen dessert which consisted of a deep block of cheesecake with a thin slice of strawberry flavoured gelatine on the top, dressed with one real strawberry and a scoop of ice cream. The bulk of deep cheesecake made it too heavy and the strawberry content was minimal, it was edible but frankly unpleasant.Strawberry cheescake should be soft and gooey and yummy this was none of those. In other reviews on this establishment I've noticed some people have said the staff were not so good but in my experience, the staff were the saving grace. I have never seen waiting staff all of whom were constantly looking around each time they passed by looking out for anything that need clearing of any customers needing attention which is quite amazing rather than the usual type who appear to be wearing blinkers and see nothing... well done for that!!!!Would I dine here again? Yes. but Management please take note of my concerns regarding the food. For this reasonat the moment I can only mark it as average. This restaurant has the potential to be the best along Babbacombe downs and beyond..

Initial booking taken by Woody who is I believe the owner/chef, who was there on the night and was more that happy to accommodate us as my husband has a severe fish/shellfish allergy. Arrived and seated promptly at a decorated table and was looked after by Saffie and Tania who made sure we were happy, looked after and had everything we needed. Husbands steak was amazingly cooked, my Mac and Cheese was lovely although we did say the portions were really large and maybe a smaller appetite menu would be an idea.. constructive comments that went back to Woody and would be looked at. Followed the meal with the Key Lime Pie for dessert which we shared was lovely especially with birthday candle! Nice relaxed evening, not rushed and will definatly be returning. Thankyou all, and was good to meet Woody before we left!

Small World is a dream in a pocket size. Our reserved but family atmosphere restaurant is one of the fewest places in Torquay where you can share absolutely everything. Because sharing is loving. And we love food. Quiet place where you can also peek at th
A really good choice of interesting tapas with authentic Spanish tastes and more . Lovely baked octopus with potatoes , good patatas bravas , four tasty huge prawns in garlic , chorizo baked with honey , stuffed peppers and more . We had a good selection with two portions a person and felt properly fed ! Portions are generous and good value . Wine list is well put together and also decent value for money At the end of the meal we were brought a surprise sweet treat and asked to guess the key taste - and tricked by our eyes . Great staff who made the meal more enjoyable HI Andyww18.Thanks for taking your time on writing such a lovely review :)We are very happy that you enjoyed it, however we can't stop wondering....what else could have we done to earn that missing star? Please, do share with us any improvement you could see fit for us. We are open to critics as long as they are for the good of everybody and make us better :)Nevertheless we really enjoyed your company as well and we wish to see you again soon :DMany thanks from all the team
