A good, well kept and friendly local pub servng very good and inexpensive food: Steak and chips for £6. Close to the Rhondda Heritage Museum and local footpaths for exploring the industrial heritage.
Food and service is always excellent and this year Christmas meal didn't disappoint. I am prepared to say that it was definitely the best Christmas meal we had over the holiday season.

First time visit and very impressedVisited on a Saturday afternoon for a family gathering (aunties 85th Birthday)Very good staff throughout, helpful and friendly, lovely venue, modern, clean, good facilities.Good buffet provided, nice bar choice, reasonable prices.I will return
Have visited here several times over the past months and have enjoyed the Sunday Carvery Lunch on each occasion. The very generous carvery and tasteful selection of vegetables make it a venue worth a visit.Quite inexpensive, and in my opinion very good value for money.

This was my first visit since new management but was not disappointed. Was greeted by the owner and quickly seated then my mother was offered a free glass of prosecco. When ordering the carvery we were also offered the option of a small one which was perfect for my mother. We did have to queue for around 10 mins for the carvery but it was busy so not a problem. Good choice of meats and veg, enjoyed by all. The owner even came over to our table when we were finished to have a chat to check all was ok. Staff were polite but in my opinion they did not look happy. Would recommend and would go back again.
I had my wedding party here on 23rd July, we had a small family gathering in the afternoon and then disco in the night. Claire arranged all of the decorations including table covers, runners, chair covers and bows and a centerpiece of fresh flowers. Then swapped all around again for the evening. The food was so cheap but beautiful, all my guests commented on the taste and size of the portions. Catered for 50 for the evening buffet we had over 100 guests show up and there was still heaps of food left. Couldn't recommend them enough for anyone who wants a more intimate low key wedding on a budget! I know I could have spent 10 times as much on a wedding reception and not enjoy as much as I did.

last owners did nothing to improve this place ,indeed it was hard to tell if it was a restaurant or kennels with the dogs wondering around, previous owners worked hard to establish a good reputation for the place ,which was destroyed within a few months, hopefully someone will take it on and make it a good place to eat again, porth really needs it

As a family we have enjoyed many a good Sunday lunch at the brynffynon. However today was a big disappointment. Something has gone very wrong. We had to go back to the bar to ask what had happened to our drinks. The service got worse. Deserts that should have been hot were cold. The wait between courses was really long. Then we were served with cold coffee. On leaving I was asked to pay the bill, which in fact my son-in-law had already paid. Not even a sorry from the waitress. It saddens me to write this review because we have enjoyed such good times there. Eira Linehan.

We travelled up from Chipping Norton to visit Mother for Motherâs Day and we took her to the Llwyncelyn Hotel for lunch. There was a good variety of roasts available accompanied by loads of veg and potatoes!!The meat was delicious and lots of it (smaller portions available).Great value as well.

We visited here 2 weeks ago, not booked until last minute but they happily accommodated us. A great big smile to welcome us, the food was excellent - basic Sunday lunch, nothing fancy...just what we wanted. The waiting staff were great too, friendly, polite.... a real must go to pub. Well done all of you!
