This is an update to a recent review we submitted. We sincerely appreciate that Margsmanager responds and is dedicated to improving customer service. We returned to a happy hour a couple of days ago. I watched the same bartender make my margarita. The shot of tequila was short as she emptied the bottle. She put the empty bottle aside and rather than replacing it proceeded to put extra triple sec in the shaker to make up for it. She also uses way too much ice, and I like ice. I know my magaritas, replace the bottle for goodness sakes! My drink tasted like orange syrup! On the other hand, the hector's quesadilla gets better every we order it. Further proof that we will.wait until the nighttime bartender comes on duty to get a properly made drink. I hope cooks don't change when bartenders do. A perfect combo would be the 4:30 cook and the 5:15 bartender. Hoping for a perfect next visit! Thanks for the update johnandmary0608! We're very sorry to hear that you still did not have the most excellent experience ever, and we truly hope that you'll email us at [email protected] so we can discuss this further. We really do care about what our guests have to say.

Mellow Mushroom is a funky, art-filled chain pizzeria featuring craft beer, calzones & creative stone-baked Southern style pizzas.
A friend took me to Mellow Mushroom in Toms River. Although I had passed by on Route 37 probably hundreds of times before, this place does not stand out, and I had no idea what it was. Turns out its an Atlanta-based restaurant chain, over 40 years old, they have over 100 locations, but I had never heard of them before. Checking their website, it looks like this location, their only one in New Jersey, is also their furthest north outpost. I'll bet the folks at Mellow Mushroom headquarters call them the Yankees. Now ⦠if you have read some of my other reviews, you know that, generally, I don't frequent chain restaurants. Little regional chains are OK, but I want to know there is an owner who cares in the kitchen. Another reason is, here in New Jersey, who needs to go to a chain restaurant for pizza? And especially a southern based chain restaurant? There are plenty of real Italians here in New Jersey, and there's a real Italian restaurant or Pizzeria on every corner. Yet here we were. Its a pretty big place. Walking in, I first notice a game room with an air hockey table, a giant Jenga game, some kind of basketball thing, and others. Next I see signs about live music several nights each week. We go to the bar and sit down. The bartender comes over to take our order. My friend has already told me about their Holy Shiitake pizza. Sounds good. Lets split one. But how big? We decide a medium might be fine for two people. And what to drink? I usually consume very little alcohol, but this place has a rotating selection of about fifty beers on tap. I pick one from the beer menu. (Yes, they have a menu just for beer!) The bartender has to look around to find where is the tap for that beer. As we are sipping our beers and talking, I look around at the décor. There are lots of pipes going everywhere. They are supposed to give you the impression that they are the pipes carrying the beers to the taps, but most of them are just cosmetic. Still ⦠interesting. Our Holy Shiitake pizza arrives. Its steaming hot, and it looks beautiful. Even though I'm an experienced New Jersey pizza-eater, rather than risking burning my mouth on gooey melted mozzarella, I ask for a knife and fork. I cut off a bite-sized piece and taste it. Pretty good! The toppings are great, but the crust is soft and chewy ⦠not crispy like what you would get at that real Italian pizzeria on the next block. Still ⦠enjoyable in its own way. The medium pizza was just the right size. Three big slices for each of us. Prices were a little on the high side, but not outrageous. But the real question is ⦠would I come back? I think yes, but maybe next time I would try one of the non-Italian items on their very extensive menu.

The Office Lounge is a staple of Toms River. If you live nearby odds are you have been here. You will likely see the same faces whenever you go both customers and employees. The menu is extensive and fairly priced. Everything is good to above average. The sushi is also a good choice as they have their own sushi chef. Happy hour specials are a good buy.

Nice ambience. Liked the fact that you can see the Chefs working over there in their kitchen! Reasonably good service. I ordered the branzino. He ordered the scallops. We both loved our dishes ! Easy parking. Easy to make U-turn if heading back west on Rte 37 !

My wife and I and another couple went here for dinner on a Saturday night. The burgers were huge, juicy and delicious. The other couple had stake. They said it was great especially at the price. Surprised it was not more crowded. We will definetely go back

Had lunch on a cold Saturday afternoon. Fun decor (recycled cell phones on pop art bas relief and odd pots/pans/kitchen equipment hanging/suspended from walls/ceilings). Concise menu, and Iâd imagine the kitchen crew does it all well. I indulged with the chicken banh mi sandwich with fries. OMG! Tasty and tender chicken in a flavor-packed sandwich. Fries were crispy, but salt âflakesâ were too heavy-handed. Hubby enjoyed his chicken Caesar salad despite the dressing being too heavy. (It also seemed jarred, not homemade.)Word of caution: âsmokeâ from wood-fired oven causes breathing issues for those with pulmonary difficulties.Glad you enjoyed your food and visit. Everything in our kitchen is made from scratch so next visit if you have any concerns please ask for Kathy or Bernadette so we may help.

Stopped by recently for lunch with a friend. We sat outside on the patio and since the weather was great, we really enjoyed the fresh air. They have an extensive menu with many tempting choices. We both had the salad with tropical fruit and chicken and it was both a bit different than the same-old-same-old and delicious. Service was attentive. We sat talking for over 2 hours and did not feel rushed at all--although I'm sure at peak times this might be a problem. Overall, very nice.
