From when you arrive the welcome and the service from the staff is just how you want to be treated. This is a cosy country pub which is well laid out with a good Sunday lunch menu. Food is well presented, tasty, ample portion size and all at a very reasonable price.Thank you for your valued custom and kind comments, we hope to see you soon.

Visited with friends for drinks. This place tries hard but it fails badly, not because of the staff who try hard, but because of the ridiculously small bar serving area where the staff collide with each other to bang out the ambitious cocktails, but also the crazy inappropriate decor of faux Louis IV furniture and weird prints of goats in fancy costume. It just doesn't fit and promotes an uncomfortable atmosphere. Also diners lined sat in rows like a 19th Century poor house. The manager and his staff are far too good for this place. Give it to someone who knows what he's doing - like Raymond Blanc.Dear MichaelThank you for taking the time to post a review about your recent stay for drinks in the hotels bar.Your review is a little mixed but also confusing.Due to the constraints of the area we work within making the bar area any bigger is not possilbe. However reviewing the cocktail selection and staff training on making cocktails is something that we will take on board to ensure our Friday nights run smoother for our cocktail eveningsThe Hotel has in the past considered the possbility of franchising the Restaurant to an externral company but no company has yet been suitable to take on this challengeMichael I thank you for your frank feedback about the restaurant decor and will feedback this to our owners as we are due to look at a soft reburibishment in the coming yearsWe look forward to welcoming you and your friends back for drinks in the futureKind regardsBryan WilliamsGeneral Manager

Pretty as a picture both inside and out, The Six Bells in Thame is the quintessential country pub in Thame think roaring fires, a wonderful garden, real ale on tap and superb Pub food in our fantastic restaurant.
Went for a walk out to Morton and swung back into town on the way back. After a few miles walk we had certainly built up a thirst. So, we stopped by the Six Bells and it is a great pub with comfortable seating inside and covered seating outside. Bar staff are very helpful and efficient. Glad we stopped off for a pint. Thank you for your kind review. We look forward to seeing you again soon!

Had Sunday lunch with my family, very disappointing for the following reasons, Roast Potatoes undercooked, carrots mushy as boiled to death, tasteless cauliflower cheese, boiled dice swede, watery gravy and NO green vegetables in sight. Cost for four meals 2 pints of beer and 6 cokes a staggering £89.00. I believe they are in between Chefs at the moment but that is no excuse to serve below par food at top prices.Pity as a nice establishment with nice owners and staff. £8.40 service charge added. Disappointing.Hello Barry,Thank you for your review all points are noted. Sometimes we do get it wrong we cannot be perfect 100% of the time. Please do make contact with me so I may invite you to return complementary. Please email me at the business so we can make [email protected].

The Birdcage, serving award winning pies by Pieminister, Stone baked Flatbreads and premium Craft & Speciality beer is located in Thame's town centre. Built around 1300 it has fortunately retained its structural character and many of the elm beams, once c
Returned to the Birdcage after some years absence. When I visited the atmosphere was fairly bleak, maybe it was the loud music, the loud sports screen or the loud clientele, whatever, it's not a place I'm likely to return to in a hurry. The seating plan is such that there are large tables occupied by two or three people, and the strangest size sofas in the rear 'TV' room. I will say the beer was in excellent condition and the staff seemed quite attentive. But the atmosphere . . . . . . . . . .i am so sorry you didn't receive the Birdcage experience we so vigorously try to give, i will be investigating the reasons behind the atmosphere being unwelcoming, but i'm glad you found our beers in a great condition and my staff attentive, we take all feedback as a positive to either learn from or thrive off. thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback.kind Regards

The James Figg is a proper pub, offering well-kept beer, honest pub food and a warm welcome.
Food was awful, bland and boring. We waited nearly one hour for our food and when we asked the manager was extremely rude and disrespectful. I wouldnât return again it was a horrible atmosphere and the prices are extortionate.Hi Oliver, not sure if this review is for us, as having a look at the photo we're unsure this is one of our burger dishes. Our chips are served in a James Figg bag, our buns are not floured and we don't use sachet sauces. If your comments are relating to our pub please drop me a note on [email protected], as we would love to rectify this.

Our lovely new pub is full of cosy nooks and snugs for lazy days with a pint or two whilst our beautiful new brasserie to the rear is open all day everyday serving delicious pub fare with a Gallic twist. With all dishes cooked from scratch by our lovely c
Saturday night in Thame Art Week and very busy given the excellent location. We had last unbooked table at 6pm and only available for 75 mins. The crowding did not help the ambience, but the service was friendly and efficient. Brasserie Blanc menu / food was good as usual and my fish soup and then mussels were most tasty and the belly pork was also good. Wine satisfactory from wide selection. Overall reasonable value. But the considerable size of the restaurant with the high packing density lowers overall enjoyment and hence not 5 StarsDear Guest,Thank you very much for taking time to review The Black Horse. We are glad to know you enjoyed your meal and we hope to see you again.Best regards,
