Found this pub on the way home having left the motorway. Friendly staff, good beer, and the pie was a revelation! The curry wasnât as good but weâve marked this as a place to revisit.

Time to visit the Duke of York following their refurbishment earlier this year with our friends from Stafford. The main lounge has been updated and very nicely decorated. Our table was booked 'on-line" which was useful and all reserved when we arrived. They have a nice choice of menu from which we choose a main course and dessert. As on previous occasions, the quality of food and service was truly excellent.

The Three Crowns in Stone is a country pub & restaurant oozing rural charm and rustic character. Our picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub-food on our menu, and the carefully nurtured cask ales and fi
Substandard food, staff not trained and very poor and rude management. Staff were unsure of dishes and gave wrong information. Mail manager was rude and had not a clue how to deal with customers. The food was average but the whole evening was spoilt with dreadful customer service.Weâre sorry to read this. Weâll take your comments on board and reflect on ways to make improvements.

Visited on recommendation for an evening meal. Easy to find, adequate parking, place has quite a nice atmosphere, find your own table and order at the bar.Reasonable range of options on the menu if a little on the expensive side. Waitress service was quite good although I agree with a previous reviewer who said it wasn't easy to spot who the waitresses were as they were no uniforms or aprons. Food very disappointing, wild mushrooms on toast had little or no flavour, steak and ale pie was packed with tender meat but the only flavour was rosemary and the pastry was raw in parts. Probably won't be going again.

We have been to Roo's for a meal twice in the last two months with two different sets of friends. The food was so good on the first occasion that we decided to return. I even had the same dish of halloumi Greek skewer salad with triple cooked chips which was extremely tasty on both occasions. Everyone enjoyed their meals in fact. However, it was fortunate that the only table with proper chairs (as opposed to high chairs) was available as my friend is unable to sit on a high chair. On both occasions, we were not offered anuly starters and on the second occasion, we were given the dessert menu and then when our order was taken, we were told that the kitchen had closed! The worst thing, however, is the noise in the place once it gets busy. It's not conjusive to a relaxing and pleasant meal with friends. It seems to me that the main priority of the place is serving alcohol which is a great shame as the food is of a good standard.

At nearly £28 you would expect some veg to accompany your fillet steak. What appeared was an onion and 2 small pools of puree. The steak and onion was cooked nicely but i would not call this a meal. Wife had the butter chicken that we would recommend and the puddings were nice. Service attentive.Hi,Thank you for reviewing Little Seeds. Visited having read good TA reviews and we weren't disappointed. The staff were really friendly and knowledgeable, great range of really fresh tasting good ales in the right glasses. Reasonable prices, and to make it even better, we won a pint by balancing a 20p on a lemon! The decor is interesting with loads of photos. We visited on quiz night, so it was busy, unfortunately had to leave before the quiz started.Wish we had found this pub before, but we will definitely return.

Decided to eat in the crown and anchor after looking at other menus in other establishments, they had a good variety. Me and my youngest daughter had the butter chicken curry, while my oldest went for the pork bellies, all meals came out well presented, and good portion sizes, the curries came with homemade chips & nan bread, the chicken just melted in our mouths, the sauce was delicious, so was the chips & nan bread, my oldest daughter could not rave on enough, how lovely the pork bellies were. Great food and great service, with a good selection of drinks, in a nice town centre pub, what more could you ask for, can't wait to return

Welcome to the Spotgate Inn. Excellent traditional home cooked food, served in the elegance of 1920's Pullman cars.
Last time I visited The Spotgate Inn was last December. Since was busy with my work .When I reserved my table , I asked to seat in the Pullman carriage. I ordered a burger as fancied a burger no starter. My burger arrived served in a brioche ( French Style ) believe me it was delicious ok itâs only a burger, it wasnât dry , garnished with fries , it was very very good .The 2 girls was looking after the guests where very professional.I finished my dinner with a selection of cheeses.Thank you

We went to the Wheatsheaf recently to celebrate our wedding anniversary. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome and special. The landlord even bought us our first drink to celebrate! Lovely decor, ambience, very chilled The food was delicious; hubby had bacon and black pudding stack for starters which he said was a meal on its own! Followed by Tina steak and roast veg. I can recommend the calendar starter and had salmon salad for main. Good size portions, no way could we eat pudding. We will definitely be returning, this time to try out the tapas.
