Went in looking for a table for 4 people for a few drinks and some food and was greeted by rude, unwelcoming and condescending staff. Left after one drink went to the dunvegan down the road and was 100 times better. Would not recommend this place at all, you are miles better off going to dunvegan if you want to enjoy yourselr.Hi Dionnejacques13, I'm sorry about your experience with us we can do much better than this. Within walking distance of The Old Course is Hamâs Hame, a Scottish pub where we warmed up on a rainy day with Butternut Squash soup that was divine. After that the husband ordered a goat cheese and beet root salad while I had the pomegranate chickpea salad. Both were delicious and service was excellent.

Our Brewpub is based at 177 South St and has 16 ever changing taps of fantastic beers from around the globe (including several of our own brews). We boast a 170+ selection of bottled beers, over 30 whiskies and bourbons, over 30 gins and a full wine list
Stopped in for lunch with my family while on a tour...and enjoyed a great experience. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, the beers on tap were exceptional and the food delightful. The food was both fresh and local, which we always find pleasing. I thoroughly enjoyed the perfectly cooked lamb burger adorned with strips of cheese...along with a side salad. My wife enjoyed the savory Mac & Cheese with bacon...and my daughter favored the Avo (avocado-based) sandwich.

Pretty simply to sum up Ziggys: absolutely fantastic decor to sit around, nice prompt staff, terribly average food. I am by no means a food snob: often it takes a lot to impress me but not a lot to basically satisfy me, so I was surprised by just how bland the food was here: I ordered a steak with prawns: prawns that were just simple cooked prawns you could get out of lidl or aldi: no effort given to seasoning. Ditto with the steak, which was a nice enough cut of meat but lacked any real effort at all put in to giving it a just slightly extra taste kick: no seasoning: just an average, if slightly tasty hunk of meat cooked and served. Not awful, but for the money not so great really. My friend had fajitas which were of similar quality: decent enough ingredients, just nothing much done beyond incredibly basic cooking techniques and INCREDIBLY basic flavourings to lift the food. You might argue that's not necessary or expected in a place like this, but you don't have to be haute cuisine to give your food more flavour than was applied to the food me and my friend were given here. Not to sound cruel or mean spirited but the food was cooked in such a way that made me think the chef had graduated from a little chef.... if they were still around.Wow, how do I respond to this, So from what I can see from reading between the lines of your little novel is that our ingredients are good, well I would hope so as all our meat is delivered fresh every day from the same butcher for over 36 years that we have been trading, all our steaks are hand cut by our chefs to order (we are the only restaurant in town that does this, all other places use pre cut) if you want a 6oz or 60oz itâs no problem, no we donât season our steaks, they are cut, cooked on the char grill to your liking and then served (most adults are able to add salt and pepper themselves) you have a choice of fajitas mild or spicy and as these are one of our biggest sellers will we change them, absolutely not, when we have customers from all over the world saying the complete opposite to you. As for your little chef comment this made me laugh out loud (I do like a man who can make me laugh) unfortunately I have a phobia to glad you liked our decor and the staff but if you had mentioned to a member of these lovely girls about any of your issues on the night we could have sorted this out then and there and I wouldnât have sore fingers writing my own novel in return. So to cut a loooooooong story short, will I go by your recommendations or the 100âs of extremely happy customers we serve every week, I might have to confer with my other little chef chefs on this oneAnnie

Took my golf mad family here for lunch and sat outside watching the golf. I ordered the pea risotto which I couldn't eat as it was a thick stodgy consistency similar to mushy peas. Thankfully the waitress didn't charge me for it. Everyone else's lunches were fine but I think they are playing on their location as the food could definitely have been better.

Amazing seats outside where you can have a drink and watch the world go by. Its near the golf club and is patrionised by many different cultures. It's a small menu but there is something for everyone. My steak pue was so tasty beautiful gravy. I'm not a great fush eater but the fish and chips my friend had looked amazing. The fish was hanging off the plate!Definitely would revisit if I was back in St Andrews.

Not much into bars to be honest but needed a decent hot meal and the place came highly recommended. The bar was so friendly and welcoming. The music played was just how I like it. The food? OMG! I had THE pie. It too was amazing and delicious! It felt like I had just walked into the âCheersâ bar, âwhere everyone knows your nameâ. I went back the following day for another meal and drink and found the same atmosphere. Thereâs a bit of me, that now Iâm back home wishes it was my local bar but to be honest, if it was you wouldnât see me out of it!Hi witchingsabrinaGreat name! After we were shown to out table and given menus to choose from, the waitress came and asked if we would like to move to a table with more room. We didn't move but in retrospect I think it was a mistake and we should have accepted to offer to move. We were in a rather tight space and very close to a table on each side. It was an interesting menu with a Scottish look. The choice is not large but what we chose was enjoyable. I had asparagus as a starter - it comes with asparagus spears and goats cheese sitting in a little soup. Very tasty. For a main course I had a pork dish which was very meaty - which something I like. The black pudding gave it a Scottish twist. Anyone who likes lots vegetables might by a bit disappointed. For a sweet I had the sticky date pudding. It came with rum and raisin ice cream which was very good, but the sticky date pudding itself I found very sweet. In my opinion, the dish needed something sharp for contrast to all the sweet things. Overall, it was a very enjoyable evening.

Family run bar and restaurant, serving home made, locally sourced produce. Car parking facilities available and outdoor seating area. Closed Tuesdays
The Sunday lunch here is crafted to perfection, and thankfully you are only given one meat choice for the roast - that way youâre focused; and they can deliver the perfect meal. Two thick slices of pink bloody sirloin beef done just right, along with perfect roast potato, medium sized pud, honeyed carrot and magnificent gravy. Everything is nice and clean...the staff cheerful and helpful and adaptable. Impressive meal. Huge thanks.

Consistently wonderful food, celebrating the best of locally sourced produce and talents of The Tavern chef. This is one of the places our overseas visitors always want to come back to every time they visit us in nearby St. Andrews. Varied menu at an affordable cost, served by friendly local people. Fife at its best.
