We've been in The Tipsy Turtle Kingston location many times and it's always been enjoyable. We stopped in Tuesday for the Turtle Bite Special and some beers. On Tuesday the Owen Street location Has $2 off Turtle Bites, Wings, Burgers, Cheese Steaks and Vegan Bites... $4 off Old Bay Shrimp... and Coors Light Pints for $2.50. We sat at the bar. For $8.49 we got a pound of Bites extra crispy and with the Sweet Hot Sauce and they were excellent. We also had a small order of Hand Cut Fries with the Parmesan Garlic hot Sauce for $3.49 and they were very good. We split a side of Mac-N-Cheese for $2.99 and it was delicious. In addition to Bites they have appetizers, salads, soups, sandwiches and more. Check out their website because they have specials every night of the week. In the front they have a full bar with a great selection of beer several TV's and some tables. In the back they have a few dining areas. The service was good and it was clean including the restrooms. They have off street parking.

We come in often and the food is consistently good. The staff is always nice and accommodating. The bartenders Malachi and Kale (like the leafy green) are terrific. We like the chicken bites and our favorite sauces are rosemary garlic with a side of mild and the garlic parm mixed with mild. The house cut fries are excellent. The burgers especially the Chipotle BBQ Burger are very good. The have great salads and soups. The Guinness Chili is also very good. They do a good job with a Mexican menu on Mondays. We like the tacos. They have a large full bar, good beer selection and lots of TV's. They also have lots of seating in a spacious dining area. They focus on the food and it's a nice place that's family friendly. It's clean and the prices are reasonable. They have off street parking too.

Love this place... Every time we're in town, we eat at Hops & Barleys, whether for lunch or dinner (and sometimes both). The menu is varied enough for everyone to find something good to eat, and it has some unique items (burger on a donut). FOOD: Soups are so so good. The Manhattan Clam Chowder was perfectly seasoned, while the 'soup of yesterday' was a mushroom soup that was a perfect mix of mushroom and rice. The burgers are a good size, very tasty and always cooked as ordered. The pierogies and sausage was a good mix of both. Chocolate cake was good but the the layers of frosting were thicker than the cake- but is that a bad thing. Interior/Decor - the bar and restaurant are well separated. The restaurant area is dark and decorated with pictures from the past. Service is always very good.

Truly a hidden gem. Found on TripAdvisor we just moved to the area. The fig flatbread was delicious, I had the filet with Gouda crab sauce best steak I ever had. My girlfriends all enjoyed there meals. Fun martini and cocktail list. When my girls return to Wilkes Barre they already are making plans to return.

Stopped for drinks on a Friday night and waited about 20 minutes for a seat at the bar. Small bar and not a lot of seating. Bartender was not the friendliest but maybe because she was swamped. Didn't try the food but what I saw looked good.

Also Known as the Back Road Ale House is a very nice bar/restaurant. Smoke-free. Pizza and chicken wings are delicious and all cooked perfectly. Pizza is a fried dough and yummy, not overly greasy. Good variety of food. Good fresh cut fries in a huge portion. Service is impeccable. Friendly wait and bar staff. Will definitely be back.

My wife is not easily agitated by waitresses as she deeply feels for them and understands that they are typically underpaid and underappreciated. This was an exception. I've never had a waitress roll her eyes at me when she made the mistake. Our waitress was a royal paid, expected us to order immediately and then got huffy when we weren't ready to order within a minute of arriving. This was our first visit and will be our last. We found the food to be flavorful, but very GREASY, gave us both indigestion within 30 minutes of eating here. Found the beer to be good, but a little pricy for the neighborhood.

I visited this restaurant twice now and both times I have a very good experience. The beer was always ice cold and the service was fast polite and very friendly. The first time I ate a chicken Caesar salad second time I had a burger both were perfectly prepared and delicious. But most memorably was Keri our server. Her quick smile and friendly banter made me feel as if I was Norm at Cheers. I was in the area for 10 days and ate there twice and will probably end up there again. You should go too. Outstanding!

We stopped here to eat lunch since the reviews were so good. To start the restaurant itself is nice and has the Mexican theme. Service was good, but the food! Let's start.. We ordered Jalapeno Poppers and the nachos with queso and salsa to start. The poppers we still a bit cold in the middle so they are frozen. The chips were good but how can you really mess up bagged tortilla's. Salsa was good and the queso was a no go! It was extremely watery and tasted of Milk.Next onto the meals. My 5 year old ordered taco's just with meat, I had the enchiladas with Mole "Hersheys" and my wife had the fish tacos. My sons taco meat tasted of "Manwich" he didn't eat them to say the least. My wife's fish was fried and not terrible as she said. Now i have had Mole in many Mexican restaurants and this was by far the worse ever. It pretty much tasted like they melted a Hershey's Chocolate bar over the top of my enchiladas. It was horrible, I like chocolate but it was bad. The rice that came with our meals tasted of Goya out of a box. Bland and no flavor. Re-fried beans were not good either. Watery and flavorless. Unfortunately these good reviews fooled me. I will not return that's for sure!!

Stopped in while in the area visiting family for Easter. Excellent service the night before a holiday. Server was very attentive. We shared the fried green beans and nachos. I had a custom burger and was very impressed with the seasoned meat. Bravo! The pepper jack and bacon just absolutely topped it off. The fries were huge and the serving size was very large. Left with plenty of leftovers. Definitely recommend a stop.
