From the minute you hit the door - several people welcome you. We were taken to a great cozy booth and ordered drinks. The restaurant is somewhat noisy but not overpowering. The chowder, fish and chips, and enchiladas were all good. We were not given a carafe of water so I had to flag her down for more. I highly recommend this place - very friendly staff.

We came here randomly looking for American comfort food as part of our honeymoon stay in Monterey. We were not disappointed because the food was great and the cocktails were very well proportioned. The food was adequately priced and we were not empty by the time we left. Infact, we got far more for our money than we cared to imagine.Highly recommend, 8/10

Sand Bar is located on the wharf, with parking on wharf. Looks like it has been around for many years.
Prices for appetizers are in the $10-$20 range with dinners starting at $17 and upwards. Very expensive for the portion size and service. This was touted as a locals only place on the wharf and felt like it. The chowder was good, herby. The steamed clams were tasty. The fries must have been cooked separately from fish because they actually tasted like potato and not fish. Decor is lackluster and confusing. Definitely paying for the views.

We had 30 people in our group and the help at Scales was excellent. We preordered our meals and they were prepared just right. Food was good and I'm sure it would also be good for a family or couple.

Turn 12 Bar and Grill serves California comfort cuisine in an environment that pays homage to the racing community and Laguna Seca Raceways 11 turns. The menu has something for everyone. With innovative appetizers, amazing burgers, steaks, pasta, salads,
Service was weird. First of all, they gave us food from the neighboring table. Later on, we didn't get the steak knives we needed. Then in the end, the bill was wrong. And we ordered a split salad and got two whole salads.Service generally slow even though the place was only half full. Bad night for service. On to the order, the margarita was bad, very strange tasting. Food is ok.

We ate lunch here after watching the July 4th parade. The family chose a range of food from the menu ranging from a toasted sandwich to a full roast beef dinner. The portions were generous and the food well cooked and nicely presented. The Plymouth platter (seafood) was great. My only criticism was that the cheese in the sandwich appeared to be processed and not real cheddar. We will go back another day, perhaps for dinner.

This restaurant was a refreshing and delicious stop in our road trip around California. The food was innovative and tasty. We had a selection of small plates which were reduced for happy hour including the coconut shrimp rolls, cerviche, calamari, sashimi, edamame and bacon and jalapeño mac n cheese. The Lilikoi margarita was also tasty and delightfully part of the happy hour deal. However the icing on the literal cake was the coconut cake desert which was amazing albeit a little expensive for a piece of cake.

I thoroughly enjoy dining here; it's right on the water overlooking the water where one can watch sea lions playing, it has a casual vibe, the service is good, and the staff are welcoming and friendly. And, of course, the food is delicious. I don't get down to Monterey too often, so I ordered copious amounts of food and enjoyed it all. First, the sand dabs are cooked perfectly and are served with a nice tartare sauce; the meat was moist and tender and it's nice as an appetizer that is sufficient for two. I had the grilled fish sandwich; the bread was fresh and there was plenty of fish making it a tasty sandwich. And their strawberry shortcake is amazing; enough for two, it had sweet ripe strawberries and plenty of whipped cream and cream anglaise. The cake was fresh and it was one of the best shortcakes I've ever had. We came on a Sunday afternoon at around 1:30; we found parking right on the wharf next to the restaurant and there was no wait for a table for two. It was all quite a good experience. I look forward to the next time I can make it here.
