A dozen of us arrived at the time of our reservation and were seated immediately at a row of connected tables in the bar area. Since it was 7:30PM on a Thursday evening, few other customers were present. Sadly, we did not see, or experience the benefit of, attentive wait staff. The time to accomplish every step of our meal dragged on; ordering, delivery, and payment. No one stopped to check on us during our meal. And, the two of us that ordered Guinnes on tap sent the beer back; it was thin and watery.Mike O, we regret to hear that you had a negative experience with us, but would appreciate the chance to turn your experience around. We appreciate you bringing this experience to our attention. If you are willing, please contact us at (540) 563-0042 so we can work towards a resolution. We look forward to hearing from you.

For almost the last year we have been coming to the quarter because itâs the only Cajun restaurant in the area that had a REALLY decent etouffe. Itâs still list on the trip advisor menu, but they have removed it from the menu. When I asked they said they didnât have the ingredients to make it anymore. Sad thing is the things it takes to make it are staple ingredients included in many of their other dishes. Theyâve lost a customer who used to come several times a month and ordered through one of the delivery services. So sorry to hear of your disappointment at the loss of the etouffe. We enjoyed the dish as well but unfortunately it was not a great seller. We would have been happy to make it for you but to make it properly all the ingredients need to simmer in a pot for a few hours. Keep an eye on our Facebook page as we plan to run etouffe as a special periodically.

We decided to try Beamers after church. The hostess was very cheerful when we entered the restaurant. We were seated quickly and got our drinks. We decided to start with Irish nachos and wow! They were delicious! Even after we got our meal we kept nibbling on the nachos. We both got burgers because they seem to be a popular item. Overall they were good. We will be back to try other menu options. This is a popular place downtown. Plenty of alcohol choices. Great outside seating area also. Thanks for the great review! I'm so glad you had a wonderful visit, and we are counting down the days till your return.

Our server, nicknamed Sunshine, did a great job (real name Sharayah). The four of us were first time visitors; the fire at the Community Inn was our incentive to try someplace different. Sunshine took the time to review some of the ordering aspects, including salad specials. She did likewise for the beer specials. Food wise, we found the salads to all be tasty; nothing special, but tasty. They were very reasonably priced at $8.00. Likewise for the beer; $4.00 for a 23oz pilsner. Well done.

We stopped by for a few beers on Taco Tuesday, when tacos are priced at $3.00 each. Three taco choices were offered, so we ordered all three. All were mediocre; a few basic ingredients with little seasoning or flavor. These days, in Roanoke, their are a couple of relatively new and delicious places to eat tacos; Tucos Taco Lounge and Cabo Fish Taco are two that pack their tacos with full flavor. I don't see much of a reason to return to Fork in the Alley beyond the beer.

Pros; friendly service. Good shrimp tacos, good cheese dipCons: slow food service even with almost empty restaurant. Pork was sweet, too big chunks and taco was dry. Good prices, $27 for 3 people. Don't love sodas per bottle instead of free refillsHey friend, thanks for letting us know how your recent visit went. We are excited to hear you liked the shrimp tacos and queso! However, sorry you felt your pork tacos were dry. Hopefully, we will seeâ you again to continue working your way through our menu.

We went here for dinner after reading about it on a review website. The place has excellent food and a huge beer selection, which was one of the reasons we chose it. I had teriyaki salmon and it was perfect. My wife had a pasta dish and she enjoyed it.

Established in the 80's, this place was very popular back in 90's. Mostly forgotten now, I am grateful I have two chef friends who have cooked here, otherwise I would not have know how good the food still is! Had the beyond meat burger--with cheddar, mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion, and fries. Veggie patty had heavy smoke flavor! Amazing!!

Went here for lunch with friends during a recent visit to Roanoke. We all raved over our choices. My mermaid mojito was amazing and one of the best I've ever had. Same for my shrimp and grits. Another had the BLT which was enormous, one friend had a burger which she claimed was one of the best ever, and another had the crab chowder which was also amazing. Interesting decor. Definitely recommend. Very friendly staff!
