We stopped on a Tuesday evening about 5PM. Inside, chairs were all stored on the tables. A few eating places were open near one end. Outside eating on the smallish deck. Had to ask the waitstaff if it was open for dining. We decided to eat on the deck with views of lake and a few boats. The outside bar was somewhat filled with smoking patrons. Ordered of the menu. Food arrived somewhat promptly as did our non-alcoholic beverages. Food was ok. Wait staff did ask if we wanted anything else. Ate and paid our bill which was about average cost for the area. Would we eat here again.....maybe.
The outside of it doesn't show the charm that's on the inside. Was pleasantly surprised to see tablecloths and candles for the evening meal! The pizza soup was a side and it was delicious. The bluegill with beer batter was fantastic and the prime rib was tasty as well. Beware, they did not take cards when we were there. They told us this after the meal and said would they take cash or a check. We didnt have the checkbook with us and we scrambled to get enough cash together to pay for the evening meal and tip. They said there was an atm although we didn't see it. If you don't carry much cash on you, plan ahead for this one!

I was visiting PdC for the weekend, staying nearby, and had my 11 year old son with me. He loves cheeseburgers. Rowdy's DnD says it has the 2nd best cheeseburgers, and we decided to give them a try.The place was pretty empty at noon, we sat at the bar, I had a pulled pork sandwich, he had a cheeseburger, and we shared some fries. The waiter was courteous, responsive, and professional, better than you'd expect at a bar. The owner stopped by, recommended we try the seasoning salt on our fries, told us the story about how he came to have and recommend the salt, and wished us well. We tried the seasoning salt and my son loved it, and since he doesn't like much outside of ice cream, french fries, and cheeseburgers, that's saying a lot.He later told me, "If that's the second best cheeseburger in town, the best one must be amazing, because that one was pretty good!"I enjoyed my pulled pork sandwich. At the end of the bar was a trio of regulars who were enjoying a beer and telling stories about locals, and had colorful language that helped me remember we were in a bar. My son didn't seem to notice, and they weren't drunk or belligerent, so it won't keep me from returning, but don't go here thinking it's going to be Culver's plus beer, that's not really the case. Also, they have a stupendous collection of Packer's posters and memorabilia that makes a Packer fan happy happy. We were out the door for way under $20 even with the tip.
The Country Inn & Suites is a hotel at this location, and the pub/grill that's attached is called Buckhorn's Grill & Pub. They don't serve breakfast or lunch, which would be nice for people staying in the hotel, especially with the small indoor waterpark that draws its own share of guests, who presumably would buy drinks, snacks, or lunch. We were just there for drinks, and there were several men there who all seemed to be a part of the renovations going on at the hotel. The restaurant has a pool table and video games.

This own railroad depot is a pub and grill. While the menu is quite limited the food is excellent. It's a place we always stop when in Prairie du Chien. They now offer outdoor seating too.

The people working here knew how to get things done! We had an excellent lunch on a Monday afternoon. I had the Ruben, which was hot, crispy grilled marbled rye, good amount of sauerkraut that was drained well so your sandwich didn't get soggy. Russian dressing served on the side. One of the best ruben's I've had. My dining partner had the soup/sandwich special. The soup was a chicken tortilla, which was excellent & half sandwich was quite nice. Food was quick to be served. We sat at the bar and could see the grill from where we sat. It got interesting when about 20 guys all came in at once. This place knew how to handle a croud. Some sat at the bar, some at tables. The bartender got drinks out quickly, then filled the drink order from the waitress, putting the drinks out in the order on the ticket. The cook at the grill got someone from in back to come out and help before the food orders started, then they were able to get food out fast. It was fun to watch people who knew what they were doing and did it well. Another place we'd go back to.

We wanted to go some place different but then a place that others raves about. So for our Anniversary we took the scenic Mississippi River route to Spring Lake Inn on this sunny Friday spring day. We had heard that the fish special was fabulous. And that it was. Never have had cod that was so delicious. And homemade French fries. And service was wonderful. Would recommend as a stop for anyone visiting within the area as their moment of delight.

Fort Mulliganâs is some good grub! They were busy but got us seated quickly. It is clean. Lots of menu options. Food was hit or miss. The cheese curds were delicious but the spinach & artichoke dip was not. The food came so fast that the waitress hardly had time to check on us. Overall a good experience. There is a kidâs menu. Not much tho for a vegetarian.
